Tyler's Blog

Tyler

Hey what's up, we had Todd posting up about Vegas Immersion on Wednesday this week, so I'm hitting you up today on Friday.

I happened to visit Vegas Immersion this past weekend while I was in town to speak at Zappos headquarters with Tony Hseish, and the immersion program Todd is running absolutely blew me away.

btw you can see pics of the Zappos event with Papa, Bradd, Todd and myself at...

www.instagram.com/rsdtyler

Anyway if I didn't have 2 children living in Los Angeles, I would literally move to Vegas and join immersion.

It's THAT cool.

The facility was incredible and the vibe was off the chains.  The people are super positive and committed.

I'd urge you to consider signing up if a full on immersion experience in Vegas catches your interest, or even to just visit this site to see it out of your own curiousity that something like this even exists.

www.vegasimmersion.com

So aside from that things have been going well, I'm on my first 5 week break in several years right now, and will be teaching less pickup programs this year.

I'm bumping down my schedule in order to focus on many long overdue aspects of RSD as a business, and it will only decrease as I expand into other ventures, so if you want to do a pickup program with me while I'm still in my peak I'd urge you to check out these dates.

December 12, 2013: Los Angeles
December 19, 2013: New York
January 2, 2014: Chicago

I have a 3 person team that handles ALL of your questions about RSD events -- Stuart, Huey, and David -- all guys in their 20's who are highly active in the game and pimp it with instructors personally, call them any time to talk game or ask any questions you want!

TODAY'S VID

So as I mentioned, I've been doing so much teaching the past few years that I've struggled to find time to do all the things I want to do for RSD.

One of them would be the newbie site, for example, as well as even the advanced videos that I want to make into mini documentaries.

All this simply takes a lot of TIME, which is near impossible to carve out when you're teaching so much your voice barely works during the time off.  Pretty much the past few years has been a flurry of hitting it hard, day in and day out.

I taught so much the past few years that my voice is now fried and recently even my ears started ringing from the fact I'm in loud clubs so much lol.

(I've since bought ear plugs and they've stopped ringing, but you have to be careful with this because damage can become permanent.)

That being the case I'll be staying out of the clubs for a while and recovering both my voice and my hearing, but suffice to say that being out teaching and staying up late to hook up with girls, then working on the biz non stop during the day, can eventually wear you down.

The cool side is I've taught myself an amazing work ethic over the past few years and developed my game and my content to the highest level possible, which was my goal in doing all this.

To be a world class teacher there is no avoiding putting in the "10,000 hours" so to speak, and so I've just been racking up those hours as a teacher and further and further refining my craft.

The coming year I'll be teaching less, however, and focusing on the many projects I've wanted to do for so long, so I'm really looking forward to it.

(Although it's depressing to teach less since it's my primary hobby and really why I do all this.)

Anyway the main goal in the meantime is to get out everything pickup related out of my head while I'm still in the peak of this, and make sure to leave a legacy of all the work I did in this for future people to enjoy.

I hope that other teachers will build on all this and take it much further.  Regardless of whether or not RSD becomes an intergenerational company that can outlive it's founder, I just want the PUA community to go in a good direction and stay healthy.

Anyway here's a video with a lot of content I've had up in my head for several years, and not really taken the time to put out there since it's sort of complex.

It's very raw and I doubt I can make the impact that I know these ideas make on me personally, but over time I'll expand this concept into a mini documentary style video and make it clearer for you to understand.

For now you should enjoy it a lot though, check it out...

Thanks for checking this out...

And like I said, I'll keep building on it in future years.

CLASSIC VID - GO DEEPER

I thought I'd post a SHORT one since that last one was so long.

It's on women's sexuality, a topic I got into in the Free Tour vid above, and is shot at my fav body boarding beach in the world...

Thanks for checking this out as well!

Good feed into the previous vid, should hammer the point home.

EXTERNAL RESOURCE OF THE WEEK

I had to post this hilarious Tyler remix video, that hammers on the idea of "Help meeee!" that I posted in that neediness Washington DC Free Tour vid.

LOL hilarious, thanks for creating that Achilles.

It had my family cracking up hardcore for a while.

I like how it makes me look like the Toronto mayor Rob Ford of pickup lol, on a crazy rampage. :)

RSDN FORUM POST OF THE WEEK

I liked this summary of David Deida, which I think you should read!

THANKS FOR READING

I'll be back this week with a new video I've been working on, it's pretty sick.

And please hit me back with feedback on this "brain + lane" video.  Let me know how it made an impact on you, or your previous thoughts and experiences!

Thanks for much for checking this out, have an awesome week and I'll see you back Wednesday!

Man I've been using ear plugs for years don't understand how people can go out without it, good you brought it up! I you are really serious you can let an ear doctor cast a pair of plugs to your ears specifically, like the musicians have.

Dude, agreed, this is so important. I've been carrying ear plugs while going out the past year and a half. People think it sfunny/gives girls something to say if they notice. haha. I can actually hear people better with them on because it isolates their voice in front of me and blocks out the loud music.

Wow... I've realised that after I have been reading more and getting into self help and pickup that some of my friends are being more nagative toward me and trying to put me down all the time. I thought that it was because they needed an outlet and saw that I could take it without caring, but I guess it could be because they are confused by me doing better in life and kind of getting contol. We are in college now and in highschool I always got the worse grades (which was like B's and some C's) and was the guy that just brought a light attitude and now i'm doing better than alot of them in school, and I still have a good attitude. This video makes a lot of sense, thanks Tyler. Can't wait for the mini docs!

These concepts made perfect sense to me man.
If you think you need to communicate in a more step by step, logical way when talking about complex topics, you should try writing it out in an outline format. You can still wing it in the speech, but before you make the vblog, try writing it out the night before and see if it's easier to communicate. Great video btw

This is some deep shit.. I think it made sense and it was described very well, but i do think i need to watch it one more time to truly hammer it in and grasp it for real, such a vast theory and as about as close to seeing things the way it really is thats possible.. I can see how i have been using different "veichles" throughout my life to rationalize not taking action, going for the life i want or whatever it may be.

I think i am currently rationalizing away success with women, or taking true action in it as a way of life, cause of the social conditioning in how we humans should engage in love and relationships that we were taught when we were young and still are being told. I think im deep down afraid to be alone, and walking the success with women, with all the paradigmshifts that come with it is something that i truly believe will make me lonely and make my life miserable instead of enriching it. I guess i am in a downward spiral..

Im rationalizing that i won't be perceived as attractive or whatnot simply because i know there's stuff in my past i haven't gotten over and may still be bitter about, and then there's of course the fear of the unknown, the randomness, the vast variables that's out of my control in social context when you're hitting on a girl. I know all of the rsd philosophy that's there to help me, but i can't seem to embody it just yet in reality even though i get it intellectually. Im in the old car on the dirt road, i clearly see the lamboughini on the newly laid highway next to me, but im just scared to make the shift. I just thought of this, shit, maybe im just scared somewhere deep down to be proven wrong that all the negative beliefs i have absorbed and taken as thruts about myself (that gives me comfort even though its negative and slowly eats up my soul and willpower to live) throughout my life experience until finding RSD philosophy, isn't true at all and my sense of comfort is dissolved?

Anyways, thanks alot for the vid. And frankly, sad to hear about you tuning down this area of your life, you have been such an inspiration for me since i found out about you and not only in pickup but life in general. Since i found your free content i've made so many paradigmshifts i find it hard to believe myself, and im scared when i think about where i would be if i had kept wandering in darkness. Hope you make it back sometime so that i can take a bootcamp with you, would be an honor.

Peace

Owen, I don't  agree with most of the things you say in this video.

I am a psychologist and I have been studying human behavior for almost 8 years.
I think you would love to read about B.F. Skinner, you might have already heard about him and Operant Conditioning. This is not theory, this is science and I think it would help you a lot to clarify your beliefs.

I wish I could have time to explain this, but you will absorb more by the book.

I really like it when Tyler shares his personal views that help him push himself and better himself. To chose the beliefs you want and to absorb them, and to discard the lanes or vehicles thar are not working anymore Its pure gold!. I have been a very interesting in something similiar to this for me for a while.  I really like how this ties up very well with the power of concentration and focus.
The million dollar habit is golD!  thanks.

One thing Tyler didin't talk about in this video although he has aluded to it in other videos - is that even if you take the right action you have to be proactive in absorbing the moments and beliefs that help you, "seek those peak experiences".   On his previous video - he talks about how he used to walk in a trance of thinkin of masculine energy and happiness. And I think - the inner dialog and inner suggestions you give yourself as you take the right action Helps a fucking lot!... I hope one day tyler talks about this- I would like to hear his views on auto suggestions to increase the strength of those lanes and vehicles and for life in general.

Nevertheless I do believe that incorporating great habits is probably one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Right at the end hit home for me when you said, "People will ruin their lives to hold onto a false beleif".

This was just the kind of kick in the ass I needed for many different aspects of my life.

Again thank you for sharing these types of amazing speeches with the world.

Completely agree with noronha. Tyler has some amazing ideas but some of his other ideas are totally Shitty & unusable. Sometimes I don't even know why I keep a blog on this website. Tyler's mostly about marketing more than anything else, I skimmed to the end and the girls arms & legs where crossed in the front row meaning obvious biological iindicators of disinterest.

guys listen to this stuff cause they have no fucking idea what works and what doesn't combined with there fathers not knowing how to teach them shit and familys divorcing constantly so the rich can just keep getting richer through inheritance money. But it's all an illusion just like the news & media and everyone's too retarded and brain washed into denial to see the matrix right in front of us.

Truly amazing! Loved the idea of getting new "vehicles" and being conscious about when you are ready to adopt new belief systems at different parts of your life.

I think you were right to be nervous about this new content. It clearly hits on a very small demographic of users. Guys who actually have made progress and achievement and those are the only ones that can relate to this material.

I'm the kind of person that very strongly identifies with a path and is often stuck on paths for far too long. This video has made me realise that I need to stop focusing on pick up as much and work on other aspects of my life.

Thankyou so much for explainging this concept. Although you say it is very "raw" I felt you did a good job of explaining it and think I get the message you are trying to convey.

My thoughts exactly, well said. I don't think the majority of people will truly appreciate or understand a deep topic such as this unless they have somewhat lived it for themselves. Great video Owen, been a watcher of RSD for a few months now mainly for the personal development aspects and this video was so awesome I couldn't resist joining up and making my first post. This topic resonates with me a lot and I think you definitely articulated it well.

Hi Owen,
I have seen the video and I have a question about the idea you mention that you have a belief like "all rich and cool kids are asshole try to step on my head" in oder to feel confidence, so if a lane for you to became rich and cool open up you will be confidence enough to walk it.
But it Contradict "old school" self help belief that says : if you going to have this negative belief in your head, even if a lane opens up you wont take it because you are thinking all this negative belief about this lane - you dont wanna go the rich n cool lane because you think this is the asshole way.
And so what would you recommend? to rationalize that kind of belief in order to feel confidence? this is a better way to think than to be honest with yourself? and it dosnt take time and hard work to unwire years of thinking like this?

thank you.

Great video Tyler!

Very interesting to think about our belief vehicles that we have been traveling on so far.
I have had a number of paradigm shifts and belief changes over the passed years, and still I find it difficult when the change happens - sleepless nights and a lot of thinking, reading, discovering. But looking back, it's created big epiphanies in my life and definitely brought me onto new levels of awesomeness.
i don't want to be that grumpy bitter elderly person one day, but really cool. So I guess I gotta encourage the belief change even though it takes a lot of energy and turns my life upside down.

thanks for putting things into perspective like this.
cheers

I really liked this talk. I liked how you said that you learned from other people. I remember it's being inspired by the world rather than competing the world which is what I have been doing for the past two weeks.

There's more power in people, you have to learn from them and communicate with them istead of competing with them to be the best, even being the best has a limit because once you're the best, you're done.

One shouldn't cut off people by being competitive seeing them as something they have to conquer, rather one should be the best they can be and use the people around them to make them the best they can be instead of cutting them off by competing with them. You can still compete and compete hard, but don't be attached to it and rather be inspired in hitting it up and being the best you can be.

I do this for passion.

Study marketing and you'll find that I'm breaking every marketing rule in the book.  The content is inaccessible to 99% of people, I use "big words", I talk too fast, I spend more time working on my game and teaching than the biz, etc etc.

The odd marketing seminar I go to I'm usually scoffed at and looked at like a clown.

One reason why I enjoy watching these videos is that they put me into a different paradigm where the cool guy is the funny / playful and so on.

When I think about the fat guy who believes when getting money girls won't be a problem, it actually reminds me of the fat / geeky guys that I know, before and after they started earning respectable money, since actually their sexual life usually goes from zero to quite a lot. In other words I know where his belief system was formed because I made that belief system for myself too. I go back to my town, meet some of the girls who used to be the hottest, now dating the average nerd or ex-nerd who usually is very boring to talk with, and I actually miss the high school times when they were going out with the typical "asshole" or "bad boy".

So I want to change my belief system too and I do it by going out a lot and hopefully these videos also help.

I am very open to all kinds of belief systems, however I remember back in the day when spiritual teachers would drop "high" conscious knowledge, my brain would freak out. This was because I knew at some level they were right, but it was still too far outside of my current paradigm.

You can literally fry someone's brain when unraveling their belief system and conflicting them with a different belief system. People even physically remove themselves from the "external influence" that is hurting their belief system.

Just as Ecky always says in his seminars, some ego's physically need to remove themselves, because it's too conflicting. Ego's need to survive.
.....I wonder if any people physically removed themselves from that freetour lol!?

Anyway, I believe the more space you have between your self-image and your silent awareness, the easier it becomes to adopt new belief systems.
Animals have different rigid perceptions of their environment. Humans have the capacity to adopt different belief systems through which they perceive their environment.
I believe the level of sensitivity to your own awareness internally and externally, is physically determined by your genetics; nervous system and brain make up. This in turn determines a left-brain/right-brain perception of reality and right-brain has a certain fluidity to it. Though, the beautiful thing is that everybody can grow in their own perception of reality (paradigm). The cockroach can be the strongest of all cockroaches.

Hey Tyler,
Here's what I think of the concept you talked about in the first half of the video. It's more of an expansion of what you said (in the first part)  in my own words for those who didn't get it or missed it.

Comfort constants: There are many variables in your life that are NOT changing and according to your brain that's a good thing. The way most ppl view reality, that is realistically, for their brains to not go haywire, everything should remain the same. The hot guy should get the hot girl, the ugly guy shd never get laid, the more educated man should get the best job and so on. These are the societal pillars that their reality is based on. Now, since these constructs have been etched into their reality for so long, it's become a sort of a comfort for them. It's like you having a roof over your head. You don't think about it unless...

Now, these socieital constructs which run deep into their skin, give them an unconscious sense of comfort that everything is sane in the world. No reasons to freak out. That's why, we can call them comfort constants.

So, whenever they notice an anamoly in one of those comfort constants, they freak out. Example: Neil Strauss, Tyler himself, Peter Dinklage, etc.

Everyone has such comfort constants. Most of them unconcious. That's why whenever a major shift in your thinking occurs, it's impossible for you to sleep or think of anything else. Now, the reason why most ppl stay in negativity is that they aren't able to shake off their old comfort constants. It's like telling a blind man that he isn't actually blind and that he must let go of the cane and glasses to see. The only people who change their comfort constants succesfully manage to achieve results, which, IMO, is the hardest part.

Great video. I'm really grateful that you're putting all this stuff out for free. Keep it up!

hey tyler, i will watch the rest of the video, but just wanted to say i just cracked up laughing at your comment.. oh the nice little retard decided to come and talk to me. ha ha ha.

regarding the ear plugs, i had the same experience. i have since bought $150 custom plugs from an audiologist, but i actually found out the rubber like ones are even better. you can get ones based on decibles. i have been wearing ear plugs out for years now.. they are the best. no one should have to worry about people looking at you weird or anything, they are not a big deal at all.

Hey Owen.

Been following your videos for awhile now, very inspiring stuff, they're like shots of philosphical espresso!

You mention you're looking to create a mini-documentary series, and I'd be interested in collaborating with you on that from the film production standpoint. What would be the best way to discuss this with you? Email?

Thanks,
Tyler.
