Tyler's Blog

Tyler

Hey there!

Julien and I just got into Honolulu Hawaii and have been stuffing our faces with acai bowls and sushi.

You can see the pics right here, and I've been updating like crazy so I'd suggest you subscribe...

www.instagram.com/rsdtyler

I've got a killer new video from my trip to New York City last month -- very advanced, and on the topic of "success and failure spirals" in your life.  A MUST WATCH for sure.

I'm also psyched to be hitting up World Summit soon, which now has a LIFETIME pass on it, so if you want to attend you are comped in for the rest of your life.  I'd really look into this as it's the event of the year.

Anyway here's a list of my upcoming events...

July 25, 2013: Honolulu (with Julien)
August 22, 2013: Seattle (with Julien)
September 5, 2013: Atlanta
September 19, 2013: Austin
October 3, 2013: Philadelphia (with Julien)

www.rsdfreetour.com / www.rsdhotseat.com / www.rsdbootcamp.com

I have a 3 person team that handles ALL of your questions about RSD events -- Stuart, Huey, and David -- all guys in their 20's who are highly active in the game and pimp it with instructors personally, call them any time to talk game or ask any questions you want!

NORTH AMERICA (Toll Free): +1 (888) 546 7286
EUROPE: +44 (0) 2079 934 034
AUSTRALIA: +61 280 155 522
ASIA: +81345789305

As I mentioned, we also have the Las Vegas RSD World Summit coming up in August!

COOL UPDATE ON SUMMIT: We've just upgraded it where anyone who signs up this year (starting this year if you pay to attend) are grandfathered into attend any RSD World Summit for LIFE!

FULL LIFETIME PASS! YOU CAN ATTEND AS LONG AS WE ARE RUNNING THE EVENT IN VEGAS FOR YEARS TO COME!!

I get it that this is pretty unexpected and intense, but I felt it was the least I could do for anyone who takes so much time off of work to attend the event, and everyone makes so many friends there so it's a perfect chance to meet up with buddies year after year and reinforce the new skills.

What is World Summit, if you're not in the know?

Imagine a week in Vegas with the whole RSD crew, seminar in Venetian Hotel all day, going out all night! It's pure fucking insanity, people die to get to this all year!

If you want an event that will MAKE YOUR YEAR consider coming to hang out with us in Vegas for the week. There's plenty of ways to do it within budget, and the program is super reasonably priced.

Life is short. When an adventure like Summit is available, get on it..

TODAY'S VID

So I'd love to make like a 2 hour documentary on this ONE CONCEPT, but I've decided to release it in video blog format.

To keep it interesting I've shot it in 7 different locations all over New York -- very cool.

I'd urge you to watch this and spend a good week considering how it impacts your life.

I'm also curious on any FEEDBACK you have as far as the video being "understandable / relatable".  I feel like this video blog format is cool, but I could do a better job as a documentary that would fully flesh out each of the ideas.

OTOH it's possible the vblog format is superior because it's more succint and "to the point" lol, I have no idea.

I've got another pretty advanced video like this that I shot in Yosemite, which will be coming out in another month as well.

Anyway here's the vid which I know you will love.

Awesome!!

So glad you watched that, and please let me know what you think!

<>===============================<>

CLASSIC VID -- GO DEEPER!

For this week's classic vid I had to choose this one I shot on Waikiki beach exactly a year ago, since it's where I'm currenty staying right now.

It goes hand in hand with creating an upwards spiral: if you're gonna do something, SHUT THE FUCK UP and DO IT!!!

It's got a hot girl, an angry old man, and me ranting on the beach lol.  Gotta check this one out.

Psyched you checked it out!

<>===================================<>

EXTERNAL RESOURCE OF THE WEEK

So I found this funny video of a guy who doesn't believe in "game" this week, and felt it would be a great example of a dude caught in a cycle lol.

He seems pretty funny and I give full props to anyone who has the balls to put themselves out there on Youtube (as opposed to most people who have opinions but are too scared to share them for fear of being judged...).

He's definitely NOT afraid of being judged :)  But it's just a great example of a cycle that had Julien and I nearly in tears laughing on the taxi home from sushi a few hours ago, so enjoy.

LOL so good.

I also thought I'd keep the comedy theme going with a hilarious imitation of Julien and myself.  I was in tears laughing at this one, check it out.

Funny enough I also find his imitations to be actually GOOD CONTENT.  The part about the fat guys too lazy to even get their own Coke is bang on lol.

But ya thanks to this dude for the hilarious vid.

POSTS OF THE WEEK

Thanks to everyone up in the forums, very much appreciated!

Remember that if you use the forum, give responses to VALUE / CONTENT filled posts!  Not just the bullshit.

(At least once in a while... to give the semblance it's a real forum lol)

:)

Seriously though, commit to reading value and sharing it.

<>=====================<>

So I'm off to bed, hope you enjoyed this week's edition!!

I'll be back next week with my last video shot in New York, which is an exposition of PEAK EXPERIENCES that I shot in CENTRAL PARK!

It's super sick, really psyched to put it out.

In the meantime...

PLEASE HIT ME BACK WITH COMMENTS ABOUT TODAY'S VID!  HOW DID YOU LIKE THE FORMAT FOR EXPLAINING IT?  AND WHAT EXPERIENCES DO YOU HAVE WITH CYCLES IN YOUR OWN LIFE?

i want to know! :)

Anyway thanks so much for reading, and I'll talk to you soon!

Great vid

You talk about the upwards spiral leading to abundance and a robust structure. So does this robust structure stay or does it fade away if your energy is focused on other things than meeting women?

cheers

New York after dark has such a great ambient feel to it that is captured perfectly in your video locations.  This helps anchor the lesson of this vblog to that amazing ambient feeling.

Also, can't help but laugh at the irony of talking about self-development in front of 1oak, one of the most debaucherous filth holes in the world :)

Great Videot!!

Gives a lot of motivation as always! The format keep it fun,light-hearted(I think that's the word) but still very serious, we really feel the passion for learning about life in general and sharing it.

Since you want to know i discovered rsd a year ago watched everycontent i could find but only took action sparsely...
I love the self development part and all the books you advise us to read...
After thinking everything would come easy for me in life, thanks to all the contents i learned to know myself a lot more and now am trying to take massive action to "realise my dreams(lol)".
i believe i am at the beginning of an upwarding spiral and will soon explode positively in a lot of aspect as i always wanted.

Maybe you said it already, i find myself also in a cycle of maybe 1 week massive action 1  or 2 weeks falling in the old habits and losing motivation. I'm glad of being aware of it and am working on this great and important quality that is concistency and dicipline(linked pejorative meaning to this word all my life until now).

Thanks again for everything you're sharing.
We're lucky to leave in those day where we can find so much advices.

Love the little bit at a time process of changing into the upward spiral. I've always tried to go cold turkey with my diet, so a lot of times I fall back into eating chicken nuggets after going ham with baby spinach for so damn long.

LMAO at you bringing up cake, it's my favorite food.

Just being easy on yourself and changing it little bit of a time hit home hard for me.

Honestly man a lot if that shit was way over my head lol, but I'm sure it's that stuff that only 1% of society is supposed to understand. Biggest thing I got is you're either getting better or worse, so get better!

First you get the money. When you get the money, you get the power. When you get the power, then you get the women.

EDIT: Just now watched your vlog. That concept of spirals makes a lot of sense - I take cold showers in the morning to begin my daily cycle. There is so much more potential for the use of your day and there is so much more potential in this subject. I notice how my day just goes down the drain if I start off with turning on my pc. If I start off and take a shower, eat my breakfast, go jogging and read, my whole day becomes way more productive.
And what's interesting, is -just as you said- my state goes up. I feel happier and more proud of myself.

Great content Owen.

 Tyler,

Phenomenal video man!  I resignated with it so much.
Even the secondary topics you go into clicked so much with me.
I'm looking to do more, become more focused, become more dedicated, learn from mistakes, and take away as much success as I can.

So, this upward spiral topic was a real gem this week.

I am seeing great results right now. A lot of this has to do with the "Upward Spiral" that I am trying to get myself into right now. Going to the gym 4 days a week, Eating healthy, Meditating, Setting goals, Tracking my game in my FR Journal. Next step is dealing with these, while elevating my work situation.
All of these "Upward Spiral" Habbits are getting me results, and it feels great.

I liked how you mentioned the topic of The Rich get Richer, and The Poor get Poorer.
So ironic how this easily translates to the Upward and Downward Spiral subject.
I am getting the results I want because I am executing Upward Spiral Habbits. (Rich getting Richer)
When before I had no Upward Spiral Habbits (Poor getting Poorer / Poor not getting Rich lol)

A bad relationship, and the breakup that followed put me in a downward spiral.
And sure enough I resignate with Everything you said at the beginning of the vid, when you talked about talking to another girl after, but fucking it up with her, but then learning from that.
Its very promising and exciting to think where my game will go as you mentioned dating hotter girls, getting 3somes, building a group of girls and friends. Things that only will encourage me to stay with Upward Spiral Habbits.

Lastly,
I loved how you talked about your stripper ex gf.
That relationship you were in with her had the same characteristics of my relationship.
Its funny because you mention her in most of your other videos (break-up / bad relationship topics).
Theres always a part of you that wants to be with that banging, bad ass chick.
But, how you mentioned holding her hand for 2 or 3 years to get her out of her bad habbits...
That solidified everything for me. "She will have to be the focus of her next bf's life to fix her bad habbits"
Fuuckk that dude, haha.

Much appreciation on the video Tyler!

Hey Tyler!

You may have realized this already but filming the video in front of 1OAK for at least a bit made me realize how awesome it would be to be on a boot camp with you... This is because I went there for the first time a night or so ago. I feel like if you did this at more locations, you would make a connection to customers who actually go to those places, and the connection would go from venue, to the feelings they have there, to wanting help from you.
That being said I dont have money for a bootcamp lol.................

Also it would be cool to see a video about interacting with staff, promoters, going to better locations, getting in those places, and finding promoters....... i know its been talked about before but it could help..................

Thanks,
Anthony

Thanks, Tyler! The video is excellent and it's just perfect to get motivation to have goals and create the will power to accomplish them. As for the self-help part (meditation, going to the gym, having a good diet, having fun), those are goals I want to set up for myself. As for the "hands-on" game (approaching, going to clubs), I'm in my mid 20s, I live in Brazil, in a twenty-five thousand inhabitants town with no nightclubs. The popular kids since when they are teens until when they are in their twenties throw parties for groups of about twenty of their cool friends and the most beautiful girls from their social circle on farms in the outskirts of the town, and as I grew up not having those experiences, this was far out of my reality. In your last video you mention (as an example of the topic "money and looks")  a provider who goes to law school who only gets a woman when she's in her thirties and she would "reward" him with kisses for being a good boy. Well, this was pretty much me, I wanted to become a priveder to get a special woman (as opposed to making money to have a good financial life) until i found RSD, then my mindset changed. I want to get into that upward spiral, even if i have to go from litlle step to little step and I'd like your advice on the following: the only thing I really know how to do and love to do  is to be a teacher,  and I'd like to move to a big city to practice game, but on a teacher's salary ranging from the equivalent to 400 dollars to 700 dollars I can't afford to pay the rent, buy food, and pay the bills. I can't afford to move to a big city. What should I do? I'd appreciate your advice.

It's interesting about how an addiction to stimulation can keep you off that upward spiral, but another danger is the illusion that that stimulation is enhancing an upward spiral.  Drinking alcohol to go out, using preworkout at the gym, excessive coffee at work -- the leverage for breaking that same addiction has to be different since in the short-term, it's actually helping you, not hindering you.

awesome video it ties in with 7 habits of highly effective people which I'm reading right now. I know you talk a little bit about how to get started on the abundance spiral but I wanted to know how you deal with deeply ingrained negative habits such as PMO'ing and having a crap work ethic. It seems that fixing it gradually only increases desire to repeat the behavior. Should I go all out and stop doing the negative behaviors and focus on willpower?

also in terms of pick up, how do you maintain an abundance mentality when you don't currently have girls. At one point when I had a few girls on rotation, I was carefre and I didn't really care but once I lost them again I was needy again. The thing is if you (Tyler) were to be without any girls you could easily fake your abundance and get the girl even if youre only texting 3 or 4 girls at a time while I would be caught up in a scarcity mindset. Does this come only with experience?

This was probably my favorite video ever of yours. There is much truth in the idea of success as an exponential function.

I also really enjoyed the beginning of the video where you talked about your own adventures with being poor. It was new to me to hear about your past, even though I've been watching your videos for years now. You tend to talk a lot about the successful phase of RSD which can become very repetitive, and do little to underscore where and what little you came from.

I enjoyed hearing about the minutiae of your early RSD days. As you move into your self-development guru phase, I think your audience will want less hyperfocused videos on one topic and more personal idiosyncratic stuff. You will need to paint a broad picture.

Congratulations on making it up the upward spiral. :)

Extremely relatable content, this has been a topic I've been thinking about a lot recently and you've given new points to consider and expanded on things like building willpower. I enjoyed the section about starting and constructing RSD with little resources and how you built them up. It goes to show you can do anything you put your mind to. I want to hear more about RSD's journey in that regard.

Excellent presentation, not too icy which is great because sometimes I have trouble following when it's too icy. This felt a bit more like some of the older videos of yours.

I think you've managed to fish out one of the best approaches to life in the modern world. It's so inspiring and refreshing to see guys like you and the RSD team. I think you're laying a solid foundation for some of the next generation of first class players who just crush it and make the most of things concerning whatever they do.

Thank you so very much for doing all of this.

 "I've seen some shit."

Was he in 'Nam? He reminds me of fat sass black lady. BTW I know a 330 pound ginger who fucks tons of hot girls as he's a DJ here on the one of the morning radio shows. Also what got me back in the game and in shape was when I had a 110 pound hot Australian girl into me and multiple times gave me and told me opportunity to fuck her and I didn't. But she spent enough time around me to like me.

 Great Video Tyler!

Great inspiration. Makes me realize that I should be thankful for the small victories in life, and trust that with time and remaining in the upward spiral, life will reveal bigger and better victories for me in the future.
Loved the funny part at the end when you made examples of how you try something new, and then you can handle it anymore :-). Keep on going!

I'm from Cape Town South Africa, and yes the poverty and lack of infrastructure in most areas here are major. Drugs and gangsterism(the violent kind) is the order of the day in almost all majority African or majority Coloured townships. In these townships work is available, but the choices are either retail at malls or farmstalls, housekeeping in the middle and upper class areas or working on a farm. Most of the people in these situations can't even apply for credit because they earn too little or are not educated according their economic rights (I'm inspired to research this further, thanks man). The drug and alchohol - thats another story and a major life drain on communities, it might be the biggest problem here. That said there are many who do make it out, but as I've heard they rarely return to share their way. And Church and Mosque groups do step in to help with their little resources, and thats great.
I'm proud that you have this type of focus man, and thanks for putting South Africa on the RSDn map... HAHA!
I know Julien was here long!!!!! time!!!!! ago!!!!! ( Screw any one type of game - @LIONS HEAD & Pick up as the rite of passage). Send him back!!!! * 786 000000

 awesome video with amazing content!

you seem to be way more in the flow with those different locations. the first 7-8 locations video was a bit more hacked into pieces contentwise...

further on, the idea of nassim taleb, the black swan guy, is to become what he calls anti-fragile.

fragile = something that breaks when put under stress
robust = something that only breaks when put under huge stress
anti-fragile = something that becomes stronger when put under stress

the human muscles are an example for anti-fragility. and it applies to game as well. once you're past a certain point of your development you become stronger from stressors in field such as rejections etc.
they help to disengage from ego, outcome etc. which then leads to the desired outcome. in this way in-field stressors are a NECESSARY component to success and need to be proactively architectured....

anyway, amazing video!!

I listened to this as I was falling asleep from a long day of work and woke  up with tylers voice in my mind saying "upwards spiral, upwards spiral" so I rewatched it and was completely amazed.THis stuff right here is there with Tylers best!

One note on filming -  usually nobody uses zoom while recording.  They either zoom in and then press record or not zoom in at all. Some directors sometimes zoom while recording - but for very precise reasons.
And the movement of camera is more like a dance with the camera than eratic moving it around :-).
this might help you on your "documentary style" recordings

Hey Tyler!

Have you seen Uncle Tony explain a similar idea called The Success Cycle? (aka momentum aka upward spiral of glory and robustness)

Potential -> Action
     ^               v
Belief   <-   Results

you've been to upw so must have heard about it...

Exactly.

Tyler, great video. I absolutely loved it. Having left my legal job 2 years back to start my own business, what you say is so true.

Also, you might like to go back to the Black Swan if you kinda skimmed it. From your videos and interests I think you'll really like it. It's great for understanding risk, finances, and ALSO...

As naisteth implied, the real nature of what Nassim called 'anti-fragile' (what I think you mistake for robust) fits even better with success and game because it shows the journey in game more effectively:

fragile = fkn pathetic piece of shit nooby. zero self esteem
robust = intermediate guy whose got some results but still crumbles under stress
anti-fragile = the enlighted pimp who reframes stress (and pretty much everything) as an opportunity/lesson, etc, then masterfully works to improve further.

Anyway, I thought this was worth posting because the distinction between robust and anti-fragile may give you even deeper insights to the game. After all, you reframe things much more pratically and beneficially then 'robust' intermediates and certainly all newbies.

Loving the success vids. Thank you

This is some amazing, amazing content. I never understood the whole cobe bryant videos, mainly because I know nothing about basket ball but your reaction to that is what mine is to this. It just blows my mind how someone can be as on point and focused as you without being a total weirdo.

I work with lots of people that eat right, make mad money, work 15 hour days every day but seem a little off. I dont think many people really realize the amount of pure epicness in you realeasing a FREE 30+ minute video that is not just marketing sales funnel bullshit. I love your self improvment side, keep this shit comming.

As I grow I really start to apprecaite stuff like this, I can barly do the dishes after working a 12 hour day landscaping let alone going an shooting a video, editing, writing and then gaming. All while being sober, healthy and then taking 20 minutes to fucking meditate. Grrrrr, one step at a time :p

Just finished watching the video... I don't know what star-alignments your tuend to, or what magic your involved with in order to be able to time these videos and present these videos that appearntly are estoerically in sync with life cycles.... Whaterver the fuck you do, I am going to figure it out eventually, trust me, I am gonna...

MAD PROPS, great video, great timing, the sun spot activity changed, weather cooled down, abundnace is in play, this is great, just gotta wait until it goes shabanggg, but no worries, as long as we stay in sync, no worries, whatsoever :)

Haha It's funny because when I was in the making of the video I got a lil vision in my head on how it would get tons of likes and you'd actually put it up in your blog, funny how things turns out ;)

Been to lazy myself to do a new one since when I did it this time everything was pretty much in place - camera, pu buddies, in a snow cottage with lots of time.

If im going to make a new one I need to project this up, but since yall like it so much I prolly should continue ; )

Don't shoot videos of you when it seems that you are "looking down" on us with the big towers behind you. It looks like you are talking young children. You need to be better at keeping a distance between those 2 areas of your life. Or spend more time with your kids.

Shoot your videos when you are moving around the city or shoot very short video moments when you are standing still with an direct camera to your body. Use more of your body and not only the head. Elliot Hulse talks about it when he talks about how we people use our head to much and need to find a balance between the head, the heart and our balls.

The topic is excellent brother. I've already watched it once and will soon watch it again.

Sorry for posting a comment about the video you put up of you a year ago. I hope that you have fixed it until now. Don't excuse yourself when talking to the camera.
