Tyler's Blog

Tyler

So I'm back home in Los Angeles spending time with my kids.  Resting up before my upcoming programs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

Got a lil stressed out over all the workload lately and was spending all night awake getting things done -- didn't see sunlight for nearly a week and wound up getting sick.

It's to the point I can barely sit up to write this out in my chair or drink water without spilling it on the keyboard.  You'd think this sounds bad but in it's own way I find it kind of funny. :)  Weird, I know.

I'll talk about some insights from this in a moment, but first I'll hit you up with a new video from the 2011 World Summit in Las Vegas.  It's going to reveal some really subtle aspects of what allows me to get the types of results you've seen on my Bootcamps and Hot Seat events, or at least read about in reviews if you haven't been. :)

HINT:  The past 10 years of creating an eco-system of non neediness and emotional control has been a big part of it.  Click this video right now and what I'm rambling about will become clear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AErf9MRus6U&feature=channel_video_title

Interesting huh?

btw most people don't know this but Papa is actually a really sick public speaker -- which is from the years he's spent doing hundreds of Free Tour and Hot Seat events.  The video here shows a small amount that's hard to read a lot from but he's actually super legit.

Dood has gotten overweight though -- look how funny it is seeing Saad, Alex, Brad and myself all in a row in good shape, and then there's Papa in the middle all curvy and sexy style. :)

We did lunch in Malibu with Mark Sisson from "The Primal Blueprint" the other day (we may do an interview together because I really like his overarching philosophies) -- so let's hope it inspires him to transform back into the leaned up Papa he was 2 years ago when he was running marathons, before he got injured.

No excuses Nick! :)

<>=====================<>

(Here's what I'm listening to now.  Dood goes in pretty hard -- I'm always impressed by someone who cultivates their talents.)

So yeah it's crazy to be all fucked up, makes you think of how someday you'll get sick and sicker and then just......DIE. :)

The way I am now it's like a faded state of consciousness, so I guess it's like a gradual dimming of the light until it's out.  I was so sick today it got me thinking about euthenasia and how people should be allowed to kill themselves if they're sick enough.  Like I'm just a 32 year old man with a nasty fever.  Oooooooh big deal!  And yet if I had to feel like this rest of my entire life hell no it wouldn't be very fun.

Now imagine having some CRAZY FUCKEN DISEASE that's robbed all the pleasure out of living life?  You're not even able to hold coherent thoughts because you're in so much pain?  Yet the powers that be are like "Nope you gotta kick around with us because death is this big scary thing..."

Still, you've gotta assume it's because like with the medical marijuana licenses, that shit will be abused.  For you guys who don't live in California -- basically everyone and their brother has free legal weed.

Well whatever.  It is what it is.  Probably change eventually.  I'll keep it in mind if I ever get to run a country. :)

And remember:  YOUR HEALTH IS EVERYTHING.  Seriously  you can get all pissy about this or that or the other thing, but it's the people you care about and your health that are the context for every desire you could possibly have.

<>===================<>

So aside from these random musings about weed and mercy killings, I've been finding being sick a good opportunity to take responsibility for how I fucked up.

It's funny growing up into an accountable human being, and continually trying new things and then taking the lessons from when they don't go well.  I really had no good reason to stay awake all night and not see sun for a week so that was just plain dumb.  I should've just kept my cool and maintained a sustainable pace.  Funny how I did the same thing a few weeks ago by burning my voice out from teaching too many programs -- gotta take the lessons from this and move on.

Most people see me sick and tell me I should take Advil or whatever but aside from the fact that I've often wondered if it slows down recovery time (heard different things) I've often felt that getting sick is a good chance to reflect on the way you've lived your life.  Obviously you sometimes just get sick and it is what it is, but I usually think it's because of 1) bad sleep, 2) not enough sun, 3) stress, 4) improper nutrition.

I maintained good nutrition but the rest I fucked up on.  And if I want to keep growing as a person I have to maintain those things.  I'm not in a position in life given the responsibilities I have to let that shit slide.

I've taken this mindset in my game progress as well.  For many years in fact.

I'll continually go out, interact with tons of girls, and see where I fucked up.  Let the lesson REALLY BURN ITSELF INTO YOUR SOUL -- like it HURTS when you really liked a girl and you fucked it up.  Then learn from it, maybe create an article or video blog about it, and move on. :)

This learning process in the game is absolutely amazing.  Just keep going out, keep interacting, and keep learning from your mistakes.  You can't just get that from a seminar because the lessons aren't emotionally relevant -- that's why "keyboard jockeys" get stuck in their heads, because they've got all these NON EMOTIONALLY RELEVANT LESSONS FLOATING AROUND IN THEIR BRAINS.

The videos I post here oftentimes sound a little ephemeral and big picture, and yet if you're going out this shit is actually very hands on and practical.  I don't think I've ever met someone who goes out regularly who finds any of it confusing. But I'm sure there's folks who do not go out enough and find it "TMI" (too much information).

Regardless I do this shit for the people who really go out like I do.  I have a deep love for the game and want to relate with people who feel the same way, live a similar lifestyle, etc.  Generally I create the content that I personally wish somebody would make for me -- like I actually go back over my old articles and vids to suck up lessons that have been forgotten, then I go out and kick ass.

<>=================<>

It's crazy though how our society is very much not in a mode of personal responsibility.

That comes from the darker sides of socialism (there's a lot of great stuff in both the right and left wing -- but there's some really dark stuff as well and that's what I'm referring to) as well as a "Brave New World" sort of mindset where people who aren't in charge are often simply not taught to take responsibility for themselves as a part of their moment to moment thinking process.

You'll always hear me talking about "Pointing in the mirror".  I'm constantly doing this.  Trying out new things, enjoying the wins, and looking in the mirror when things don't go the way I planned.  I blame nobody but myself, ever.  Not in a brow beating way but in a way that's constructive and helps me to learn.  I really let the lessons "seep in".

It's funny because I really love self development.  I used it to get laid with many cute girls I never remotely would have met otherwise, create a business that does millions a year in sales, get down to 6% bodyfat, gain more energy, become happier and take in life with more interest, etc.

Yet I never viewed it as something that was meant to "fix" me.  I just viewed it as some interesting material to get me thinking "bigger picture" so that I could benefit from the positive influences.

It was always FUN for me, and continues to be. I've never had bad vibes towards it like "They told me I could do XYZ and it WASN'T TRUE!!"  Instead I just viewed it like I was always the person who had to sort out my own life and anyone who had books or videos that talked about the topic were worth checking out -- even if there were a few things that helped.

The path of taking responsibility is harder in the short run but easier in the long run.

Ultimately it's about taking constant action.  Constant, constant, constant action.  Crazy amounts.  As long as you're in motion you're gaining references.

Then taking the lessons over and over. Seeking feedback from people you trust.  Focusing on what you do well and do it better.  A good "guide" from places like RSDN or other sources is invaluable to help you to decode your experiences as well.  That's who I make this stuff for -- not guys THINKING about going out, but guys who are actively doing it and want to figure out what's been going on.

The shit is a huge hobby and produces amazing results.  The fact that sometimes you're in pain makes the wins a lot sweeter because you earned them.  I wouldn't change it for the world.

<>==================<>

Anyway that's about as good of an article I can hammer out in this state of mind so I'm off to bed.  I've got some really, really sick video content coming out over the next few months so look forward to it.  I think the next few are decent like this one but around a month off it's gonna get pretty "next level".

(It's actually funny to be sitting here all fucked up editing this shit and thinking "Damn I look so much more alive than right now.  Is that the same guy?")

I'm also contemplating the launch of a new Free Tour and Hot Seat as I never really got to show the Hot Seat 2 to the masses and I've gotten so much good feedback on the portion that Jeffy has shown on his recent tour.  You can see the tentative USA dates below which someone from RSD will be doing, possibly me and if not then someone REALLY good.  I'm considering the USA dates but for sure am not travelling overseas due to having several children -- regardless it'll be the Tyler Hot Seat 2 being shown and will be a high quality event.

So be on the look out for a possible Free Tour launch next week.  This one would leave me with a really good legacy of content for the Free Tour vids so that I could move on with a feeling that I did it as best as I could.

Let me know what you think of the video or this article here.  Thanks for reading and have fun!

Tyler that last post was solid man.

What I admire so much about you is your exceptionless acceptance of reality.

your like, this is how it is (its fucked up),  what do I want, how do I get there. no big ego, no excuses, just pure reality.

I always wondererd what was it about your past that fucked you up so much, as you often said. I think its cool that you posted that.  (My background is different, but I can relate to you extremely well in many points.)

Also, I think this article was on fucking point. I feel like what you are talking about is the ultimate part of self actualization. Creating your own reality, taking full responsibility for everything that happens in every second of your life and for your emotions/state.. Having a full locus of control Choosing who you want to be. If one is willing to pay the prize (time, effort and sacrificing many pleasures), with this attitude, one can probably achieve almost everything in life.

Its interesting that he says the first approach of the night is what puts him in the best state and not sex because
the mind does the linking thing on some level he has learned that approaching leads to all this awesome stuff
that he is in alignment with so it charges his state when ever he does it.if you look at his body launguge when he
illistrates what happens you can clearly see that he has more energy because his body/emotions want him to do
more cause he has linked that its a rewarding behavour ,inversely im sure most guys on this path have experenced
being too tired to go out ,alot of times thats just your body/emotions communicating that it doesnt believe going out is
a rewarding behavour so it tries to hybernate you before you waste its energy.....

interesting stuff higher vs lower level conciousness id define more as living by long vs short term thinking still its true
that the level of quality your conciousness has diffectly effects every aspect of your life because it is your life force which
in itself is the determining factor for success in any endevour although it itself never changes the level to which we remove
ourselves from interfering with it and its directives is what im refering to as quality of conciousness, like a light bulb its great
to light a room but if you put stuff over it you cant see its effects inspite of the fact its just as bright under all that stuff.
i think this is illistrated well in a book called the magicians way although they never refer to quality of conciuosness i think
ultimatly thats still the machanics underlining the message.

interms of how this relates to girls and what tyler was saying id say that when your being polite or not expressing your full personality
your putting stuff over the lightbulb and limiting the effect its having (your true self is having) so ultimatly your fucking yourself over for this
girl or whoever and in most cases your fucking any chance of actully getting the girl as well because if she cant trust you to be you how can
she trust you to do anything else ???

Hey I noticed that papa and tyler talked about stress... Theres an interesting documentary about stress that I watched about a month ago by the national geographic. This guy who studies stress in baboons, relates how being an alpha dominate species attributes to a higher stress level. Anywho, its defentliey worth checking out if you havent seen it.

Heres a link to the website.

Hi Tyler, i would like to add something.
Concepts and ideas of RSD always relate to me and how i view life.
But i myself have a very light form of autism which makes it hard to see the bigger pictures or tie concepts or ideas together.
As an expiriment or tip, i would love to see you present the ideas more clearly as a whole.
Like point 1 and point 2 is what you need, and this is how they all come together.
I can't really explain it well but it also relates to this other comment that it's usually all a little vague and unpractical. It would be really helpful if you talked about ideas and then also explained how they all come together and fit into the bigger picture !
Keep it simple and clear !

Kind of rambling here but i hope you get my point !

(Btw really stoked and looking forward to the newbie's site!)

Hey Owen,

Wow, this is some massive value you are dropping here on the forum. Thank you for sharing the inner workings of your brain.

What is it you said in Blueprint? All pain is universal?

Please allow me to share my thoughts with you about what I think would work well for teaching this stuff. I really think you should consider a three tier system. Novice, Intermediate and Journeyman (no one like's to think of themselves as advanced, and I've always liked the phrase Journeyman,)

In order to 'unlock' the later stuff you have to complete the earlier steps. I think all of us who have been learning this stuff know that the key to getting better is simply going up and failing regularly. As men, we love completing levels (like in Martial Arts and Computer games.) it gives us something to focus on.

If you give a Newbie a basic assignment, go up and do 200 hundred approaches. You give them a couple of different openers and you get them to get the basics down.

Once they've done that, they can move onto the more Intermediate stuff. Learning how to role-play, learning how to lead... etc etc.

The advanced stuff is more what you are talking about in Blueprint, the underlying Mechanics of game. From what I've noticed about education, if you expose someone to too much information to early on, they can become overwhelmed. I know if I found this as a beginner I would have been overwhelmed. When I first started with MM, I would go out and do the minimum of five sets a night. That's what Mystery said to do, so that's what I did. That's what helped me get good. I'd been going out with no structure before that, but had enough reference points to understand where he was coming from.

But I do really like the direction you are taking the Company in. I've always said to my other brothers in arms, it's not about improving the sales pitch, it's about improving the man. Thank you for letting me try and tell you how I think you should run your company.

Rainbows and Lollipops.

tyler, why is your BL getting more and more feminine? you move your hands like a girl, you cross legs like a girl, i know you express yourself, but...maybe something to consider, and Brad looks very feminine in the face

where is the worlds masculinity going?

haha. amazing. I remember I was the one who asked this question. thanks for posting the video Owen, apart from the general usefulness to everyone this has very good use for me. however, fuck cutting out Alex's part ! it was golden too.

keep up the great work man!

however i think you need to cut the hip hop bullshit and listen to real music, as does half the forum.

maybe it sounds curious to say this, but since becoming actualised i couldn't give two shits about music that talks about girls, money, bullshit. I just wanna listen to these generic chill songs because they keep me feeling good.

Most of masculine body language that you think men should be wearing is all a self conscious act or armor that guys wear. " look how wide my legs are when i sit down" look at me with my back state, and my chest out when I walk swinging my arms, im a man….aren’t I…?....."

Real congruent body language is being yourself and not trying to be masculine! I often find myself with my legs crossed high up like a woman. In the old days i would stop this because i felt is was feminine, but its not at all… its me sitting how the fuck i want to sit. Take Michael Hutchins, he could look and move in a feminine way and he certainly wasn’t a woman.
With BL just be yourself and stop trying to be something you are not, unless you happen to be like one of the actors from 300 just relax and forget about trying to be masculine, if you aren’t gay, then you will convey it in the way you look at people and act.

Bad body language is reveling the bull shit act or insecurities that you hide in side, if your inner self is solid, the outside will be too. Bad bodily language is not looking feminine.
In regard to Owen I personally can’t see what you are on about though.

Nice to see Papa for once.. Peace!

Tyler, did you mean that going up and approaching a woman makes you think more clearly? I have always felt like I was shutting down my thought processes and going into some sort of stream of consciesness in my conversation, where most of the conversation is about ping'ing the other person and just letting out whatever and then feel the results whether they hit target or not - is that too much a reactive state? and how then do you reconcile thinking clearly without thinking logically?  Pappa said: "..since You can control Your action, You sure as fuck should be in control of Your own emotions!"
To back this up Stephen Cowey apparently claims: "You can actually control and choose who you love, and you can control any emotion you want and how you feel, it is just a decision you have to make... You just control it". "It is kind of robotic to think that way, but it is actually true, not letting other people affect you".
Now here comes the example: "When I have a discussion with Tyler, he doesn't get stressed.. because it doesn't make any sence". "On a logical level there is no reason to be stressed, negative, go out of focus". "Other people think that emotions is something you should just feel because of... what have you."
Oh Boy! You guys really have found the golden nuggets, that all the combined health care people haven't seen!
No, of course, this is nonsense. Dear Tyler and Pappa, 1st Actions are NOT the same as emotions, so it doesn't make any sence to compare the two - THAT is NOT logical. 2nd You can't control your emotions, but you can control how you respond to your emotions and in that respond there lies the ability to ignore the emotions or suppress them, but your emotions comes to you anyway. 3rd If you want to understand the utter nonsense to compare your mind to a robot, then read Philosopher of Mind Christian Beenfeldts article on The Turing Test.

The above statement might be too aggressive. I not an english speaking person, so I don't allways hit my points the way I intended. I can follow you guys, if you mean that through understanding a situation or another person and understanding where he/she is coming from, then getting upset over what they are saying, that might not feel like it makes any sense, but what do you mean about that you can control your own emotions - and does that go for every situation? I mean what if Tyler was thrown into a UFC-cage for a fight against a mean MoFo, wouldn't that create an automatic emotional response like he felt uncomfortable, eventhough the response wouldn't really help him or make any sense, since it wouldn't make him think more clearly?
I appreciate your thoughts in general and that is why I take you so seriously, that I bother to post here. So thank you so far for all the other good insights.
