What's up?! Long time no see. My second son Dylan has just been born and I've just come back from vacation.
With the Jeffy Free Tour and Jeffy Hot Seat underway I'm now "retired" from those events, however there are TWO FINAL EVENTS that I've left on the schedule because I didn't want to blow off the students who'd already signed up.
I'll be running Free Tour, my recently recorded Hot Seat, and Bootcamp in Austin and Atlanta over the coming weeks. Of course, they will be absolutely epic and once in a lifetime learning opportunities.
Austin: September 8 - 10
Atlanta: September 15 - 17
And that's it! My other events for the year have been cancelled as my second son has been born and I'll need to help out around the house. If you're interested in working with me in Austin or Atlanta hit up...:

So I'm back! Some recent news...
My second son Dylan was born at nearly 9 pounds. The doctors didn't know how to deliver him and were going to pump him with Pitocin and then require a C-Section, so I "Googled" how to deliver a baby and gave them instructions. An hour later the giant baby was born with a regular delivery. :)
(Modern medical system: nice business model! Huge appreciation goes to the doctors who delivered him nonetheless.)
A few hours after the delivery, and on zero sleep, I went into the Los Angeles Bootcamp and did one of the best programs of my life. It was totally intense and kick ass. Todd was on call to teach for me in case the baby was born, but I figured that the students had travelled from far away to work with me so "The show must go on..."
Having two kids in the house is awesome. I want more. Soon as GF is fertile again I may put in another -- don't tell her as I've said we'll wait so she doesn't freak out, but she can't resist unprotected sex! :)
Next up is I just came back from my annual vacation to Honolulu and the Napali Coast, and then the World Summit in Las Vegas. All were amazing peak experiences that I'll never forget.
In Honolulu I broke the shit out of my diet and ate everything in sight. Beaches every day and bomb restaurants every night. Chilling in front of the ocean. Hung out with my buddies. Clubbing at night and the adventures that that entails.
Napali Coast was amazing as always. I often say "I don't know if there's a Heaven but you can always go to the Napali Coast." It's an eleven mile hike in along trecherous cliffs and then you camp on an isolated beach that has streams you can read by to cool off, caves to explore, the ocean to body surf in, etc. Zero cell phones or email or hospitals if you fall off the cliffs. The island of Kauai is one of the most isolated land masses in existence, so it's like being at the end of the world.
My schedule during the year is intense -- 80 to 100 hour work weeks and sometimes months without a day off -- and I tend to be resistant to taking vacations. Nonetheless I "make myself do it" because I want that anchour in my head throughout the year that I only have to make it "X number of more months until vacation". I like that Napali Coast is lined up beside World Summit because it makes it more of a break.
To do this I sort of wind down the jet engines over a few weeks. Now I'm in the process of firing them up again. Hitting this level of workpace is pretty hardcore so it's a process. The travel is endless, the programs are non stop, and the tasks during the week is like shovelling a pile of snow that just gets bigger and bigger.
Gotta love working for yourself, you even get to set your own hours: WHATEVER 16 HOURS YOU WANT!!
Anyway I managed to record videos while in Hawaii because I wanted to bring YOU in on the adventure as well. The video below is shot in the Napali Coast and I'll have a bunch more coming over the month.
This one reveals the paradox between "self acceptance and self actualization". It also includes a little burst of infield footage as I've promised I'll be doing in a few videos (I'll explain more about this below...). Hopefully it'll help refocus you on what's important in the game if you've been stuck in a "circle jerk" with these concepts.

Fun stuff, huh?
The little open I did on that girl was during a Bootcamp, and was deliberately friendly and non threatening because it's nighttime on a street while she's alone and I'm surrounded by guys.
The BC students follow me around on extractions, and I bring in the girls friends and make sure that everyone pulls -- otherwise I bail. BC's have non stop attention to the point that students usually want to run away in terror!
The reason I chose that little open in particular was because it uses virtually no technique whatsoever. There's very little going on in terms of outer game -- I'm not even talking for the first few seconds. Notice that you don't need to talk when you open if you're coming from the "right place" internally? For some reason took me many years to figure this out, and yet it's so easy when you realize it.
EXPERIMENT WITH ESCALATING OFF THE BAT -- YOU DON'T ALWAYS NEED TO TALK!
Now what I want you to do is watch this next video as well, and see how it corresponds to the first one...
See the link? :)
So basically what you see here is the girls will say stuff like "You're beautiful..." out of nowhere simply because you 1) assume a positive response, and 2) are grounded in your own energy with no need for an outcome whatsoever. In the little open from the first video she says "Okay I love you..." which is the same type of thing. They'll usually say something along these lines when you're on point, so I want you to recognize that this is what happens when you get this down.
Also btw -- the instant lay is NOT the go here. You want to try the fastest route to get from Point A to Point B, and then if it doesn't go you try the second fastest route, the third fastest, etc. It's strategic because you wind up getting instant lays every so often while it's just "playful fun" to the majority of girls who won't instantly fuck a guy they just met. I've done a few instant lays in my life, some with girls who were pretty damned hot, and it's been by two main methods: 1) just recognizing she's down and making out (and maybe fingering her) and then extracting, or 2) hardcore push pullling, amping up the energy, yelling, etc, and then when emotions are high doing the extraction and lay. Neither was the move in this case -- even if I'd been stronger on the pimp hand with the hotel thing. Instant date is easy and consistent.
I'll be putting in a few bursts of infield footage in a few future video blogs, including some instant hook ups as well, so it'll make more sense. I plan on putting up bursts that grab the imagination as far as what's possible. Let me know if you enjoyed this as a little preview in the meantime, but it's more to feel out how people like it. :)
(btw the contrast between a Hot Seat event and a burst of infield footage is the difference between a few seconds of a random interaction versus seeing the entire deal go down, from open to close, and have it broken down in micro detail while it's paused over and over so you can see subtleties that are impossible to notice if you haven't been in the game many years. Then the instructor lays out his entire personality throughout the day and does exercises, so this is really the most invaluable experience you can possibly have.
Again check these sites for dates -- www.jeffyhotseat.com and www.rsdhotseat.com, and given that Jeffy is touring only once and I'm on my last two events, this is well worth hitting up. Sorry if the blatant pushing you on this event is annoying but I want to urge you to attend -- the Hot Seat may not be around forever and people will go on about how "back in the day" this amazing inexpensive program existed, how awesome the reviews made it sound, etc. These events exceed the hype and offer a "no questions asked" money back guarantee for a month after you take it and the seminar high has worn off, because they're THAT valuable to your life.)

Anyway the other reason I thought it was cool to post up the "self acceptance versus self improvement" thing was that it was a hot topic in the forums recently.
You may have noticed I'm posting regularly in the RSDN forum again, and that's because I want to get it back on track to the being the value loaded hot spot to exchange ideas, like it was back in the day. That will be a process but YOU have to help me as well -- don't protract arguments, don't take things personally ON THE DAMNED INTERNET, and offer advice that's based in real world experience. :)
It's already improved a lot over the past few weeks, and we'll see if we can get it to continue. It's funny that I'm the busiest in RSD and yet post the most, and yet I think the message here is "If you want something done, give it to a busy man..." It's actually easier for me to post more than it is for other instructors because I never stop working, so I don't have to "switch gears" in order to slam something out. It's like how these articles typically run me like 20 minutes to write, whereas most people would probably take a few hours.
Take this as a lesson -- challenge yourself! Work harder. Make more money. Fuck more women. Fuck HOTTER women. Produce more value. Travel to more cities. Read more books. Crank out more kids. Get more in the zone. Kick more ass. Eat better food and put nothing bad in your body. DOMINATE!!
Every year gets exponentially better because you improve -- better, faster, stronger. Your capabilities of the past are a joke compared to your capabilities of the present. Everything's lead up to this, and this will lead into a future without limitations. Possibilities are infinite -- you can write your own ticket in life, people have sacrified for centuries so YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.
Think there's a lack of opportunities? Think "the little guy can't win"?? You're wrong amigo. No excuses. In fact if life sucks it's just an advantage because it hardens your resolve to take control over it. I feel sympathy for people who gain their advantages naturally or with minimal effort -- they're usually just too soft and unfocused.
(Hmmmmmmmm can you tell the jet engine is whirling up again? Here it comes.............)
But getting back to the video again.............. :)
The forum had definitely had too many inner game circle jerk posts this year. There's something really offputting about a guy who talks about "working on his inner game" when it isn't accompanied by posts about himself going out, pimping girls, hitting it up HARD, etc.
There's no value in studying inner game without being hitting the field extremely hard, and there's no value in gaming hard if you lack an understanding of why inner game is important to your success (I did it from 2002 to 2004 -- the weird effect it had on me is well documented!).
The inner game of pickup and outer game of pickup are twin engines that need to be maximized. It's my opinion that accepting yourself is like 80% of the battle, and yet the "self actualization" of learning outer game is needed regardless, so you'd might as well assume it's 50/50.
Why do I say that self acceptance is more important than outer proficiency in the field? Well a lot (not all, but a lot) of your "outer game" is really an EXPRESSION of how you feel internally.
The study of inner game is amazing. STUDY IT. Learn it hardcore, and go DEEP in the inner game circle jerk. :)
But couple it with going out, ideally every night, and if not then as much as possible. I'm personally out every single night -- even nights that would seem fucked up to go out, because I absolutely love this shit. Having a life outside women is important too and makes you more attractive. It ain't rocket science -- MAKE THE DAMNED TIME.
The hardcore inner game stuff is valuable to guys who go out a lot because it furnishes you with a rock solid sense of entitlement, keeps you out of your head and unreactive to bullshit from the hottest women, and makes you an icey bastard to dickhead guys who try to fuckup your shit. Again: it's what makes the outer game work.
But do both. Don't assume that because "Brad and Tyler love to talk about inner game..." that that's all we do. Brad has been out nearly every single night for many years. That's why he loves inner game -- it gives him the CONTEXT to decode his massive base of reference experiences, how he slept with the girls he met, etc etc.
The topic is very cool, but only to people who go out. You don't go out, work on that first, work on theory second. A little theory is all you need to get started -- that's IT!
:)
We don't rehash the same outer game basics over and over, because that would be boring. We'd lose our audience of advanced students (most of whom don't post).
But if you don't know the basics, go learn them TODAY.
Then hit me up on RSD Nation forums and we'll talk about how you're applying them, get you kicking ass, getting laid, and then you can improve your game from the position of it being a "hobby" instead of all desperate and weird.
<=================>
So yeah I wanted to write something up quick to get you updated on what's been going on. I also put up a big post about the upcoming videos and areas I'm focusing on in the forum, which you can find right here...
http://www.rsdnation.com/node/197516/forum
(I talk about my recent creative processes as well. Hit me up in the forum if you want to talk game in general, I'm up in there lately as I mentioned.)
And in case you don't click, the videos I have coming are...
-Seattle Free Tour (this is maybe my best Free Tour vid so far. REALLY like this one -- some sick shit in there and the speaking is the best I've done).
-Cisco Systems speach that I did -- I wanna hit up a few clips from it with me dressed all chodey professional and talking to the corporate crowd. Sort of a trip to see me doing this.
-Hawaii Free Tour -- had some nice stuff in here, and good impressions of Japanese girls :)
-Napali Coast video blog about "reading" that I shot by a stream I spent several days reading by...It's like half an hour long
-Waikiki video that I shot on the topic of "being the chariot rider" -- ie: how to control your brain and make it do what it wants
They're all pretty decent, on par with the one I posted today. Then I'll be working on new stuff here in Los Angeles, and on the Austin and Atlanta trips I have coming up.
Thanks for reading. Hope to keep you entertained! A lot going on, let's catch up soon!
And please let me know what's on your mind. How do you find the distinction between "self acceptance" and "self improvement"? Did the video make sense to you? What insights did you gain?
I want to know! :)

PS:
The Austin and Atlanta Free Tour, Hot Seat, and Bootcamp are my last for quite a while. I'll probably teach Bootcamp but that's about it.

Atlanta: September 15 - 17

I think this is the best video yet, although I may be biased since it was so relevelant to me. You really hit home with me when you discussed how people who are seeking a higher purpose struggle to accept themselves. DEAD ON! and so helpful!
The quality of your work seems to have hit a new level! I'm looking forward to seeing future videos!
P.S Would you say that in simple terms that the self improvment is all about the energy you bring and making the approach itself. While the self acceptance is the way you communicate to the girl?

I'm curious what you were explaining to the student before you approached.. I heard something about "your brain believes that by being shy.."

And awesome infield example. I used to do that approach all the time (it just came naturally). Now I realized what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong back then. Gotta get back to doing it. It´s so much fun.

Anyway, I like to view everything as a balancing act.
Too much "self-acceptance" and you'll accept your own excuses and rationalizations. You'll start to accept your fears, and accept being stiffled.
Too much "self-improvement" and you'll be this weird pick-up guy, trying to hard, looking for validation. Looking for peace from the outside rather than realizing you are enough.
I guess once you have the intellectual understanding that you need both acceptance and action, it comes down to deciding which you need. Which is something you must learn to recognize (i.e. when you are uptight and too focused on improving, and when are you too accepting of your own bullshit)
Love the little in-field burst, by the way. I think it is really good for guys to "see" what you mean with the words. As for myself, I have done it so it's good to see I am getting it right. (And it'll probably serve as a reminder when I get too uptight on the self-improvement!)

I was actually going out consistently for 3 months and noticed that it was becoming repetitve and not enjoyable (mostly becuase I wounld't approach out of fear/apathy). I didn't go out for a month, and I instead focused on improving other aspects of my life, including: productivity, having a greater purpose, finding out what TRULY makes me happy, and defining my life based on my OWN STANDARDS. After a good month of this (with infinite amounts of room left for improvement), I can say I am more grounded and aware of the STARTLING fact that happiness CAN come mostly (if not entirely) from WITHIN YOU. And you once you've tapped into that and see how it works, well...it has eliminated my AA on a day to day basis, has made life in general more enjoyable, and likely led to my last epic night on south Beach to such greatness (by my standards).
Keep it coming Tyler, you just keep on growing...

I've been thinking a lot about the difference between a "goal" and "criteria for sucess." I guess its easy to think that those are the same thing.
For example, in deaing with women the "goal" is to get laied, but the "criteria for sucess" is to approach man to woman.
Or when dealing with buisness the "goal" is to make money, but the "criteria for sucess" is to take whatever action you need to take to earn that money.
Or when dealing with inner game the "goal" is to be centered/feel good, but the critera for sucess is to take action, meditate or whatever.
The main difference seems to be that achieving a goal is never under our direct control, but we always have direct control over our criteria for sucess. We can always take action regardless of its outcome.

Essentially, you have created in yourself a system in your mind that filters out negative comments from people. So if people call you a douchebag pick up nerd, it doesn't affect you, because you've established the criteria for validation. Nobody can touch it because you are the holder to the keys of the kingdom--only you can invalidate the self-image.
The question is then, are you really drawing "state" from within or are you drawing it from the self-image of being a zen seducer, a self-image that requires only you to validate?

You will lose your girlfriend and your children. The validation that you get from being a cool seducer will no longer make sense to you after that happens. Get at me when your foundations collapse. I really mean this.

But i have a question:
While i envolving my inner game, i noticed that sometimes i become so fucking present that i really can enjoy my enviroment. Walking through the city or watching some trees swinging in the wind and feeling good or having fucking great sex.
BUT on the other hand there are some moments where i´m so hard in my head, i hardly can enjoy anything, not even seeing a hot girl, speaking to her or sometime having sex with gorgeous girl.
What do you do if are in such a mood?
And i don´t mean what to do when you are out and you getting stucked in your head,
i mean what to do if you are alone or chilling with your girlfriend and you are stucked in your head?

Thanks for the new video! It's amazing how as you get more and more experienced in the field, the game becomes more simple. This is ALL due to self-acceptance and entitlement. Girls even cannot process why they hook up with YOU. They become simply compliant.
It's true that outer game is a reflection of inner game. My recent strongest move for hooking girls is so simple I can't understand why I didn't used it before. I even know that as I share it with other guys here, it would sound SO obvious that may even skip their RAS, yet it produced powerful results for me. Here it is. Self-acceptance at its finest. Once I open a girl, I smell her, and in 99% cases (LOL at 1%) she smells good, I state it. I tell her to smell my neck. Then I tell her to kiss it. She may kiss or giggle, doesn't matter, my claw is there for her to enjoy me for awhile :)
Even when I feel tired, bored and/or boring, I feel good and it pays off. I know ALL people, even the coolest on the earth, can be tired and boring, yet can be lovable if they are content and relaxed. When I feel this way, I give a chance for her to game me, put some comments once in a while, but do not even TRY to pump my state. A natural "push". I trust myself, and then, voila, I'm back again with some new unexpected moves (for her and ME as well, pure expression).
Thanks again,
I like to grow with RSD and RSDN ;)

It really clears things up.
After i had seen the blueprint i stopped training (bodybuilding) because i lost my motivation, now it`s about 2 months ago and today i picked it up again and it feld great.
Before i just trained for validation i guess but know i started just to be my best for myself.
I guess i needed some time to go threw this new fase and know i understand
Thnx Tyler your amazing !!!
Very cool vakation btw ;)

Second, I'm really happy to see you're posting again. I like your articles the best, they resonates deeply with me.
The infield video didn't blow me away but it was really cool to see you in action, the way you carry yourself with the girl and the way you talk. Please show more of these.
Hope your going to be travelling to some more places than just inside the usa in the future again.

He talks about being able to hold paradoxical ideas in your mind -- (self-improvement VS self-acceptance beign an example of that)
I personally use the "balancing act" metaphor.
I would consider this the most important thing of developing the skill - it's like learning to balance, and you constantly have to decide: Should I move left, or should I move right?
"left" and "right" being two opposing pieces of advice.
It's up to you to decide which one throws you even more off-balance, and which one gets you centered.
Going for the make-out is good, until you do it for validation or it releases sexual tension.
Not going for the make-out is good to build tension, until you are too stiffled or scared to do it.
Going in direct is good, until you become too persistent; which is try-hard.
Going in relaxed is good, until it becomes too friendly and you too stiffled to show your intentions.
Most of these balancing acts boil down to doing too little or doing too much.
Too little means you are controlled by fear (or stiffled).
Too much means you are controlled by desire (not believing you are enough).
This also gels really well with this article:
Self-improvement (=doing more) -vs- Self-acceptence (=doing less).

Hey Tyler,
congrats on the new the new baby boy, Dylan! hope he brings much happiness to your lives =)
great article about the balance of self acceptance and self improvement. After abit of reading and self actualizing, I did feel a lack of motivation to pursue things in various areas of my life such as women and my career; dropping outer game to less than impressive results and lack of passion towards continuing work respectively. BUT, you've shown me some light: Take action, take action towards higher values. Aim for a 50:50 balance. Head out more and stop mulling over all this inner game stuff for too long.
To answer your question, honestly it never occurred to me to think of that distinction, or at least to word it like that. it felt more like two seperate phases one went through, and i went from self improvement into self acceptance mode. perhaps people like myself can realise the two can co-exist. the video made sense! =)

And when you pursue something, not only should there be no attachment to any outcome but there should also be no attachment to some expectation of who you "should" be or "how" you should be.. It took me a while haha. Just by taking the action to do things, makes me realize it is the only thing anyone ever has control of.
The saying "Let the chips fall where they may" makes a lot more sense to me in light of these things.

Always enrgizing reading your stuff bro.
The video pretty much describes the things I have realized in the last 5 months of consistantly going out;
1 problem: Most guys (including me) will not face the importance of self acceptance until somthing emotionally tramatic causes you to look at the sum of your life. very melodramatic...
So if your reading this it's prabably pointless explaining the importance of taking action, you'll figure it out if it's meant to be..(that is to say if the right external forces line up and you recognize the situation for what it is)

self--acceptance = loving yourself in every moment there is a richness to who I am savour it and accept everything around me the same way.
self-improvement = the direction I take myself in this is the journey these are the adventures I go on seek and improve/grow I fill them. The difference between a scumbag and a value giving guy is that the scumbag seeks to eat everything to fill himself and make himself more powerful while the value giving guy sees the same thing but wants to appreciate it experience and fill it with his total being and contribute to the beautiful things he sees before him and make beautiful music with it and becomes more of himself in the process also becoming more powerful but it is not at the expense of the world around him the world around him is growing with him as well
I love what you do, Owen. I am right there on the same path with you.
Not as far along but the same path
I always appreciate the value you give from the point you have reached after so many years of walking the path and passing it on to the rest of us making our way as well.

Once again Owen is one crazy mofo, and my mind is going balistic to all these instant Ah-ha moments that this will probably take awhile to recover from.
I went to a free talk, and a hot seat he did in Denver back in January. I didn't know anything. I asked him what intent was, then he did a demo of the claw on me. It blew my mind and I realized I will learn soo much because my journey will be long. lol
Soo many crazy wild amazing things can happen in your life soo fast. Going from one extreme to the other and relearning the same lessons with new meanings........damn....Best Post ever!
PS the best part of the video was the end with Owen on the cliffs. I finally got to take a vacation too, life is truly amazing just waking up in the morning for another day of life. Good thing my work will be research in age rejuvination! LIVE!

My schedule during the year is intense -- 80 to 100 hour work weeks and sometimes months without a day off....
Gotta love working for yourself, you even get to set your own hours: WHATEVER 16 HOURS YOU WANT!!
Been working the last year hardcore to change from a loser to a man of action. Things like reading 5-10 books a month, trying to stay in "flow" and take goal oriented action as much as possible, building finances, eat healthy... you get the picture. "In the way you do anything you do everything" kind of style.
I've decided that cold approach PU and business are the vheicle to drive on my path. I am taking more action than most of my friends but it feels like a JOKE compared to where I see myself in the minds eye. Would be helpful to hear some thoughts or recommendations on this subject from somebody who is further down the road.
BTW, gonna be at the austin 8-10 events. Long ass drive but gotta do that I gotta do.

You're enough when you're on the path to actualization. So simple but so easy to forget/ignore/want to be untrue.
Also loved how you characterize the people who take one path over the other as obviously unhappy. Remember you do this (self-actualize and self-accept) TO BE HAPPY. But some people will sit around obviously unhappy while using their beliefs of self-acceptance or self-actualization almost as excuses for their unhappiness. Ridiculous.
"Live by the foma that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy" -Kurt Vunnegut
Also a great reminder that I need to (and can) hit the field more. NO EXCUSES. I am (was?) seeing some real progress but haven't been taking action lately.
Thanks Tyler
