Tyler's Blog

Tyler

Hey there!

Kicking it for an extra week in Miami South Beach, just polishing up some videos for you that you'll see in a few months.

I'm actually ahead on my videos quite a bit so the upcoming schedule has vids from Philadelphia, 3 from the Red Woods Forest, San Francisco, and then gets into the handful I've just shot here in Miami.

I shot the Red Woods one on a new $10,000 camera and they look UNREAL.  Super psyched to put those out.

Interestingly with the new camera some of the new shots have been better, and some have been worse.  It's like ditching a 80K automatic Lexus that was really good for a 500K Lambourghini that theoretically drives better, but is easier to fuck up.

So the Red Woods videos have been amazing on the new cam, but other vids I think were done a little worse.  I'm going to get more help on deck to get it up to it's amazing potential, and use the new camera for good not for evil. :)

Miami has been an absolute blast btw.  I've learned SO MUCH about coaching and game while here, and have been testing out new types of videos that will blow your mind.

I also had the fun of running day game programs here, which means..... I recorded pulls (AND threesome pulls) here with really hot girls during the daytime, and will have footage of it both in Hot Seat and the typical teasers of it in frontpage videos.

Miami is a place that has the element of HIGH VOLUME OF HOT GIRLS even in the daytime, so was appropriate to run program in the day, and has been amazing fun.

Anyway as I mentioned before, I'm no longer teaching Bootcamps officiallly, but will still maintain a schedule of programs where I will be in attendance.

Essentially what I'm doing is I'll still COME OUT on Bootcamp and WING and COACH students, but I will have an extra instructor to add to the student-to-instructor ratio on hand.

This is important because it will prevent me from running late on program, which was a common theme while I was the official instructor.  What was happening previously was I'd be slamming out the Free Tour or Hot Seat and run late to Bootcamp, which I'd usually then make up for it by running it several hours late into the night (as well as sometimes run Hot Seat late since I was dog tired to the point of near death), so I wanted to get to a point where that no longer happens so I'm now no longer instructing Bootcamp officially and will fly in and pay another instructor to coach and add value to the program.

So basically it's a way of adding value to the program (an extra instructor), where I'll still be coaching but not "officially" since I'll have flown in an extra instructor to help me out.

Then I'll use the extra time and less effort to do a lot of demos during the Bootcamp and record tons of videos in the city, and also help out the other instructors to record their own videos as well.

It should result in the programs running more smoothly and me having more time to build content for myself and instructors while in the different cities.  I really want to take it to another level.

Keep in mind that I will not be teaching Bootcamps AT ALL soon enough (or at least very rarely compared to now), so if you want to do one with me I want to emphasize NOW IS THE TIME.

Do it now, do it now, do it now.  I'm going to be releasing a ton of infield pickup coaching in my videos this year because I am super proud of it and think the way I've learned to coach after 12 years is amazing, and when you see it you're going to think "Damn I wanna work with that dude".  Except what you're not realizing is the reason I'm posting so much infield coaching is that I'm LEAVING PICKUP COACHING so I'm doing it to leave behind a record of what I spent a decade building up for future generations of PUAs.

So to avoid that headache, if you think you would benefit from doing a program with me and that it's a good fit for you, do it ASAP is my highest recommendation.

Anyway here's a schedule of my upcoming events...

April 3, 2014: Las Vegas (with Julien)
April 17, 2014: Orlando
May 1, 2014: Denver
May 14, 2014: Dallas (with Julien)

You can also reach my homeboys on the phone who will answer any questions you have about events and save you the time from even clicking these buttons.  They're young guys who go hard in the game and know their stuff, and will be happy to sort you out.

TODAY'S VIDEOS!

Okay so today's video is on the topic of the "stress of success".

This is interesting because I think many people look at the lives of those who have success and ENVY them.

This is absolutely laughable as having success is not something to envy, it's simply a different lifestyle choice.

On one level, yes, if you're not successful, then many aspects of my life may be better than yours.

Maybe I eat better food than you, or have better sex, or live in better places, or go on better vacations, or afford better educational trainings, or surround myself with more accomplished peers.

Lol, fun stuff.

At the same time though, I also suffer from things you don't.

Most people I meet I cannot tell if they are my friends or not, until I've known them for a very long time.  I get harrassed in public, deal with complex responsibilities, and have tons of people depending on me, etc.

In fact it's sufficiently stressful that the only reason it's "worth it" is that I've had time to GRADUALLY acclimate to it, and basically view it as building my character and doing what I've been put here to do.

As far as base level lifestyle improvement, the pros do NOT outweigh the cons at first glance.  At least not in the sense that the typical person would think it's worth it, if they hadn't changed their perspective on it.

Ya a nice vacation is cool, but not at the expense of not knowing who your friends are, or having crazy responsibilities to deal with while you're there.

So to really enjoy it, and not go completely crazy, you have to gradually acclimate to it, and build your EMOTIONAL IMMUNE SYSTEM.

That means gradually changing your perspective on what your'e trying to get out of it, and also to go through many bad experiences and realize they're not actually that big of a deal.

Once you know you can HANDLE the bullshit that comes with success, suddenly your mind is FREED to go after EVEN MORE SUCCESS.

You drop the "self sabotagers" of procrastination and the million ways you shoot yourself in the foot unconsciously to prevent yourself from doing too amazing, and push down on the gas.

In recent months since I turned 34 I felt like I really crossed a threshold where shit has gotten so bad as far as many frustrations related to success, that I realized NOTHING can get me down.  I don't care how bad some of this shit is, nobody and nothing is gonna kill my buzz here.  I'm ready to handle it.

So that being the case, I thought it would be a cool time to post a video about the lessons I've gained from the stresses, to get you thinking about YOUR OWN path to success and how it's good to go through these types of events.

It was important to me to 1) keep the video positive and not venting, and yet 2) keep it honest about the bullshit you go through and make myself vulnerable with it.  So I tried to be emotionally honest here but at the same time keep the perspective that you CAN go through this and come out really well on the other end.

CLICK THIS VIDEO TO LEARN THE SECRETS OF "EMOTIONAL IMMUNE SYSTEM" AND HOW BUILDING IT FREES YOU TO PUSH HARD ON THE GAS PEDDLE OF SUCCESS...

Nice thanks for checking this out!

Funny enough I've had mountains of new ideas on this topic since creating the video, and will really flesh it out massively in future years!

I also recorded a video on the topic a few years ago at the Golden Gate Bridge, where I go into the journey of success.  It has a lot of similar themes

Cool so if you've watched this, I'm sure you get the idea...

And we'll flesh it out massively in the future as well.

For now what I want you to remember, again, is that YES success is not the instant happiness that  most people think, but you CAN grow into it.

And as you grow into it, you realize IT'S ALL GOOD and that you can push harder on the gas to where you want to go.

EXTERNAL RESOURCE

I liked this new video by Elliott Hulse talking about how most people think they want to run a business, but really don't.

It relates to what we just talked about in the video above, which was a cool coincidence, since I shot that video a few months back but was releasing it just this week.

Hope you got some added perspective from that.

RSD MOTIVATION OF THE WEEK

My team built this new video this week as well, in the motivational series, so hope you enjoy!

LOL love how the team builds these.  Awesome!!

<>========================<>

THANKS!

So I'm out and hope you're crushing it this week!

Planning to release a KILLER KILLER KILLER and long Free Tour video next week, on the topic of social calibration.

I created it as a follow up for a student I taught in Seattle who had trouble relating to the program.  It's one of the best I've done, basically a compehensive video on how to be socially aware.

I'll either release that one or else some other kick ass video next week, and then that one soon, we'll see if I have time to polish it off!

HIT ME BACK WITH YOUR THOUGHTS ON SUCCESS BARRIERS AND THE STRESS OF SUCCESS!  I WANT TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!

Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you soon!

I love your insight on success as about being able to deal with increasing levels of complexity.

The quote is actually "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people.”

Let's play a game. Insert this quote in a future video: "Suffering is asking from the world what it can never give you."

Great video!

You reminded my of an awesome quote by the one you mentioned:

FINALLY MY WEEKLY TYLER

VIDEO!!!

^ this says it all. Early Tyler Vblog for the win!

@ Tyler

How do you maintain equilibrium? Business owner, pickup artist, cold approach, father, boyfriend, innovator, etc amongst all these roles you play?

I spoke to Alex briefly after a hotseat. I shared a bit about my career and business I run that'll eventually supersede salary. My ambitions isn't salary. It's financial independence. Even if a man were to come up short, he would live nicely. I want to see the world. I want to leave behind something of intrinsic value that truly encapsulates my life's work long after I am gone. Dust in the wind.

Christian Troy says we are all "walking ashes." Life is beautiful cause we are all doomed. Nothing lasts. I love Julian "gun to head" analogy. Could I do it if I had a gun to my head? The answer is yes minus my goal of financial independence NOW!

With all of your rotations, how do you keep order? There isn't a day that I am not lethargic. But nobody will do it for me. I wouldn't have it any other way. I run a business. I can prioritize chasing down female leads. In short, rotations fizzle and burn out. Women with their own ambitions and desires is few and far between a rock and a hard place.

I suspect it's a form of self sabotage. I think Jeff said something about having so much volume, it doesn't matter.

Thank you, Tyler. Watched this a few hours ago, and something bubbled up to the surface, and had a minor epiphany:

I realized why I think about my ex girlfriend so often, even though it's been two months since we broke up. She was the highest quality woman I had ever been with, not just looks, but personality. She was so much fun to be around and of course, the sex was amazing. She was a bit better than other girls I was seeing, so I felt "barely entitled". Yet, she was just at the right level for me.

I know that if for some reason I had a lot of momentum one night, pulled a much hotter girl, and she ended up as my girlfriend (maybe she wasn't currently seeing anyone as cool as me), I might not be ready. I might not have as much entitlement, and feel that she's settling for me, which would put me in a scarcity mindset. I would see men hitting on her constantly, and feel pangs of jealousy. I'd never feel at ease with her in public, sometimes being too clingy, other times too aloof. Ultimately, I'd lose her once she sensed my insecurity. I'd then pine away for months about the one that got away.

Not that we should only hit on girls that are at our current level of entitlement. That's not at all what I'm saying. Definitely pull the hottest girls - they love sex and are often good at it.

I just don't think I should make the first girl I have sex with (that's at least as hot as my ex) into a girlfriend. Perhaps a pact to bang two other girls who are just as hot before even considering making this one a girlfriend would be appropriate. Raise your level of entitlement first. (I realize that setting a results-oriented goal is usually bad when it comes to pickup).

Another important thing is to never let yourself stagnate, which I did. I let myself gain weight, stopped working out, was less social, stopped some of my other self development, and was definitely less than I could have been. I did this partly giving into my girlfriend's insecurity. Big mistake! Always be all you can be. She may complain, but is actually less likely to leave you, cheat or be difficult to deal with and demanding when she knows you have options.

Of course, if we could all just fully realize our own worth, we'd realize that there is no reason why we're not enough, and none of this entitlement crap would even matter. I wish it were that easy.

The ego is clever. Perhaps we should be realistic in how much power it currently has over us, even while doing everything we can to rise above it.

Thanks Owen,
Success barriers do seem to be a shield used to defend against situation that might hurt, turns out that pain can help you grow! The stress of success feels like the weeds that grow in the yard, the stress is there for you to trim, it grows with the success and how you handle it can give your success more room to grow.

Great vid as always. I'd add that everyone has their own map of the world, which is essentially thought structures. When there's discord between how the world is, and the map/model your (im gunna call it ego) ego dislikes it (cause all it wants is instant gratification - the bastard) and hence comes negative emotion. As you learn new things your map becomes more objective, so there's less discord between your world and the real world, so you live with more ease.

This is guesswork but seems on point, riiigghht!

The only constant is you...

I have realized from my own life experiences that after having so much bullshit thrown in my face, I finally have nothing left to lose. It is almost sad, but so very true. It is something people really need to think on. Nothing is permanent.

Tyler, I highly recommend you check out the three films: Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight. It revolves around two people that meet every ten years, but has incredibly interesting social concepts.

"...we appear and we disappear. We are so important to some, but we are just passing through."

I would  be carefull to use the words "evolve counciousness", since it is clear noone knows what  counciousness is.

In this video I see 2 sides - 1 is driven by equating higher counciousness with success ( self development )  this to me  is a very strange thing.  If you are running  a business I can see how that is a beneficial belief. But putting that belief out there it is pushing it a little.

On the other hand

when you equate higher counciousness with remaining "childlike" even after you encounter problems  then this is amazing. Here I can see how what makes you good with girls is also part of being higher counciousness, it is a crazy life . To think  we used to worship godesses when we lived in caves... that we call it mother earth and that if we want a piece of the action we have to get in touch with it through who we are and how we behave in life, the more you are able to attract the more in tune you are,
this unfolds a stream of cool thoughts . it is not just being able to get girls or gettin money or travelling it is about how well do you attract everything you want towards you. By core principles like remaining childlike to me is definitely one.(thaanks for that)  .... ? what else.
(me giving bacK)

thx for the value

Great vid man. I am within the first year of my own business and it's going pretty well. Glad you have an overview of what to maybe expect if it gets to that level ;D. Something I deal with sometimes upon expanding my mind is if I'm really accepting the change/reality or just lieing to mysrlf saying I am.

Some quick thoughts:

Ok well about building emotional resistance: I notice that going for what you want (what you want, not what you think society wants from you or what you think is the universally right thing to do) is like vitamin C in that analogy.

Talking about the vitamins and stuff: I'm pretty sure your body does not absorb 3 fish-oil pills :p Maybe if you spread them out over the day but not all at once. Probably goes for most of that stuff you double/triple down on. Having said that, I completely understand where you're coming from so I guess you might as well keep it up just to be safe ;)

I love the video, inspiring as always. Watched it in 1080p all the way, making use of the new quality you're offering. You're always improving your content as much as possible, that's hard to find. Also, Red Woods is now on my need-to-visit list.

A few things I was wondering about:
- Do you ever miss travelling to different continents?
- How do you deal with telling people about pick-up? I have a hard time talking to people about it because of the emotional and social resistance against it.
Since you have two kids, a girlfriend/babymomma, probably met her parents, probably people at your kids' school are asking about your job, etc. you are very knowledgeable about how to deal with this issue by now.

When u have successes with women and everything goes great and one turns in tonyour girlfriend, Tyler are you saying its best to STILL FOLLOW the path.  It goes against society and my world yet it also goes with it, being a "player" having multiple girls, I'm 25 feel like its my purpose the only real thing I am or madly want to be good at.  I also love my girl and have great times with her, no children but that strong bond.  I feel like you're saying I should still be a player despite this but you cant directly say that because nobody advocates cheating not even us at RSD, also you dont split or break up.

So... Live in alignment with what I love and be a "player"?  Because I feel that's the path for me but my life doesnt match up.

Thanks

Nice. Owen, have you read the book Anti-Fragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (same author as Black Swan)? He talks about building robustness through a process of not removing minor stresses but rather pushing through them. Application to the world of finance and economics is fascinating.

Owen, this video was amazing. Its because of content like this that you're at the top of the industry. This is on another level. I dont always agree with everything you say, but you hit the nail on the head with this one. Awesome job, keep at it. Your work makes me want to be a better person. Thank you.
