HAPPY JULY 4TH!!

Just got back from my first ever trip to Philadelphia and had a BLAST!!

Clubbing outdoors by the river, overlooking the Ben Franklin Bridge and art museum (ala "Rocky stairs" where he cheers), eating at a sick natural food restaurant called "Fuel" every meal, and having a super sweet program for all involved! Was a freakishly good time!

Now I'm back in Los Angeles and home at 7AM after a wild night out, and about to shoot out to the gym and go to bed -- so gonna nail this out quick!

My upcoming programs are...

July 12, 2012: Denver (first time in Colorado in Summer -- psyched!)
August 2, 2012: Honolulu (come hit up Hawaii with Julien and myself -- great vacay idea!!)

www.rsdfreetour.com / www.rsdhotseat.com / www.rsdbootcamp.com

And of course the Real Social Dynamics WORLD SUMMIT is coming as well...

August 19 - 25 2012: Las Fucking Vegas (YES!!)

www.rsdworldsummit.com

The Summit is most people's favorite week of the year for good reason. It's a week in Las Vegas with every instructor in the crew, hitting it up, and TOTAL MAYHEM.

Girls getting pulled left and right, comraderie and hilarity in full effect. Tons of new lessons learned, it's the MECCA of the game and the best conference of the year bar none.

And held in a great hotel and very reasonably priced. Local hotels are cheap too. Call up RSD for info on how to get this done, we'll walk you through the process no prob at all -- 1-888-546-7286.

See you there!!

<>========================<>

Okay so we'll crack out 2 quick videos today and get you on your way!

The first is on the topic of "Hammering it out til the bitter end!"

Til every last damned skag has been hit up, and you go home having left a PEICE OF YOUR SOUL behind at the damned club!

LOVE THIS!

There's good reason why. On ideal nights when you're doing well, you want to be fun and positive and relaxed. But sometimes it doesn't work out like that, and for whatever reason you just can't seem to get the girls to hook.

When this happens you have two choices.

1) To go home is pathetic sorrow.

2) To HAMMER IT THE FUCK OUT TIL THE BITTER FUCKING END!!

This video is on how to do #2. Check it out!

CLICK THIS VIDEO TO LEARN HOW TO HAMMER IT OUT TIL THE BITTER FUCKING END, PULL FOR ULTIMATE GLORY, AND BECOME A MAN MADE OF STEAL!!

Hope you enjoyed this.

Was amusing to run up the famed "Rocky Stairs" and pretend I'm that great man. Ummm okay, kinda dumb, but all self help junkies love the Rocky movies and I'm not exception.

The lessons I talked about here are easy to think about IN THEORY but much harder to EXECUTE when you're in the haze of that brutal night.

Challenge yourself to execute them regardless. You'll be glad that you did!

<>================================<>

Anyway this next video is on the topic of "social narratives".

It was inspired by the Philadelphia Love Park as well as July 4th being currently upon us -- since both LOVE and INDEPENDENCE are such an important part of our social narrative.

So what IS a "social narrative"?

And why is it oftentimes good, but simultaneously in many cases an OVERSIMPLIFICATION that cause MASSIVE CHAOS IN YOUR LIFE?

CLICK THIS VIDEO NOW TO FIND OUT THE HIDDEN TRUTHS OF THE SOCIAL NARRATIVES IN YOUR LIFE!

I thought it was funny to put my head behind the sun beside the mist, how cool is that? Playing around with photographic effects with the cam, fun times.

btw I think marriage can be a good thing, and that wars can be necessary.

The issue is they often become an OVERSIMPLIFICATION -- and that people assume that because they're following the narrative that's so close to them, things will naturally work out.

But in reality someone can think they're defending their country when they're just getting tied up in some government ideology or corporate interests, and get married because they think "true love lasts forever" and "love conquers all" when in fact there are many TOOLS that someone needs to grasp to make a relationship last that long.

So these things aren't inherently bad, but rather the social narrative is often an oversimplification of a bigger picture. You need to look deeper and think for yourself!

<>=========================<>

Okay so I'm gonna crack off to the gym, self punishment for not getting it done earlier.  Yay!

Please absolutely let me know your thoughts on hammering it out til the bitter end, and your experiences with this!

Likewise let me know your thoughts on "social narratives" and how you feel about them at this point in your life!

Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you soon!

It's funny. The subject of social narratives seems so foreign to me now. I can't really understand it.
Even at school, I always thought it was a joke. Tried college (for free). and dropped out. In the long run, being a misfit is a bliss.
My brain can't really process groupthink too. It just... can't. I try to empathise, understand but it's fucking hard.
Same way for people that are under it. With enough "why".. you often end up with people rationalising shit.
Ah.. philosophy, love this
It's very liberating to be outside of it though.

Take the fucking red pill. You can't deleguate thinking.

It's funny how you can be highly intelligent in accomplishing one thing. And yet, not have the bigger picture, and chose the wrong thing to do. It comes down to having your own context.

Owen,
Kinda sweet hearing you talk about social narratives after I've written DOZENS of pages about that shit in my journal. Pretty bad-ass. Haven't heard anyone else in the community talk about it so it's good to hear your perspective and how you break it down.

Have you read anything from Peter Ralston?

Ive been experimenting alot with a hammering it out/"gun to your head" approach to game, and a more easy going approach. Its actually been a focus of mine in game since Im dealing with a bad sleep disorder that has left me with like 2 or 3 good nights of sleep in the last month.

My ultimate aim is basically getting in state, sometimes hammering it out like an approach machine does it but sometimes it kills my macro momentum because pickup becomes a stressful approach mission. I find it works if Im a little tired and in a bad mood, but if Im feeling nauseous and my bodys trembling from sleep deprivation then it can be good to cultivate positive emotions by joking around and relaxing instead of running around like an approach zombie creeping girls out. Although I never actually do this, sometimes this may mean going home early because constantly putting yourself through pain builds the memory of pain into pickup. It can be good to hammer it out for isolated nights, but if that is all you do then you HAVE to learn how to build positive emotions into PUA. What that may mean, for me right now atleast, is taking a week off of cold approach because it has become streasful to game everyday on no sleep and Im no longer dealing with isolated nights of painful but rewarding work, rather the balance is shifting in favour of treating PUA like combat. Like you said, ideally pua is a relaxed, positive thing, not a combat sport.

So ya, I think for ISOLATED cases a pure willpower approach is great, but ultimately you have to build in good emotions. If you hammer it out every night and its become a soldiering process, maybe treating yourself with an early night or a few days off aint so bad. But ultimately you have to learn how to make PUA enjoyable. And btw, if it werent hard as fuck I wouldnt find it enjoyable, but again it comes down to whether PUA is on the whole a struggle/grind/battle or whether its a difficult/challenging but enjoyable and rewarding process.

Id really appreciate it if you let me know what you thought of this, been going out a TON and this has been a big thing for me. The balance of being a trooper or just doing what will immediately give you good emotions (if I had to try to frame it in a sentence).

Love your stuff.  Great to see you can talk so fluently for so long with no prompts, and it's great when you do shots of the different locations you are in to show some scenery, and even talk a little about the place

You talk a lot about your diet in your videos.  I am not inclined to troll the forums so please forgive me if you've put an article in there about this, but would be great if you could do a video about what you eat, what supplements etc you like.  Sure many others would be very interested in this too.  You could even do it like a cooking show to make it fun haha

PS: Tried to get Julien to eat healthy when he was in Perth.  Was hard work.  Dude didn't even know about Nandos!  Ask him about it some time

Thanks for the continual inspiration

if i have a "bad night" where nothing seems to hook i often go at least for massive comfort zone pushing like open couples (already grinding) and girls surrounded by 5 massive dudes. you can always make the best out of it...

haha, even the on RSDN advocated "trust in the process" is a social narrative. just constantly push yourself to take action and eventually you will get successful with this whole thing. its a credit of trust. you will only know if you've already done it and it worked... unfortunately for a few people it will never work because despite of the fact that they are going (take action) they are going in the wrong direction (focus on the wrong things)...

anyway, i've chosen to believe in the "trust in the process" one and take constant action!

Both great videos!

Wish I would have watched the first one before I went out last night haha, ended up leaving the venues around 1:45am and just calling it a night.

Second video was awesome!  A lot of value and interesting concepts to take away.  Also liked that its not just pick up realated and that it encompases all aspects of life.  Really great stuff for the self improvement scene!

Thanks for posting these so regularly, I'm definitely benefitting from them.

Great point!

The process of going out 7x a week, grinding it out and trusting the process HAS become a social narrative! Its like some rags to riches story you buy into, and hey its been proven to work but there are def ppl who follow it blindly who may be hindering their results because they are failing to make their own judgements.

You make a very good point Owen

I was caught up in the social conditioniong narrative until my dad got cancer and then I had to question everything in life.

I know a lot of people who will never question anything. It's kind of sad.

It's interesting because there's a particular conditioning in any community, some good some bad. The pickup community is largely focused on developing yourself through going out and getting girls. I sometimes think if the pickup community's social narrative were to change what people on the forum would then start talking about.

Sometimes I like to play with ideas even when I don't know the answer.

The second video looks great with the light and mist effects.

Interesting topic about the following 'social narratives', I saw that recently with a christian dude I know, 22 and he was not having any experiences with girls what so ever.. but kept saying things like 'well I have to think ahead about when im married and everything is good'. I tried to give him hints that that might not be such a good idea.. and then baahm he got married with the first girl who liked him. I guess some people are just on the 'social narative rails' and won't even look sideways for other options.

im really facinated about the group think and social narritive concepts.

i have to admit that i find myself reguarly and unconciously getting sucked back into the group think mentality.

i guess thinking for yourself would be like a muscle too, right? the more you use it the stronger it gets?

1) 26th!
2) I have a good friend who lives in Dallas that was friends with Pat Tillman when he was attending Arizona State University.  He wasn't "besties" with him, but they attended a lot of the same parties and shot the shit occasionally.
3) I thought what you had to say about college was interesting.  The social narrative today is that we should all go to college to get a good job (at least here in the United States) regardless of whether you have any idea of what you want to study.  I think there was a day and age that was absolutely true.  There was a day and age, primarily post World War II, up until sometime around the 80's, that going to college made you stand out from the crowd and helped get you in the door for a lot of jobs.  I don't know that is necessarily the case, anymore.  I think there will always be a need for college, especially if you are doing something highly specialized, like almost anything to do with medicine or law.  However, now days, EVERYONE is going to college, so your degree is watered down.  I have a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Texas State University and, if I had to do it over again (especially today), I think what I would do is take a few specialized classes here and there, then go weasel my way into a job at the TV station, just so I could gain access to the building, then I would bribe the photographers, the reporters, etc. to teach me their wisdom, THEN I would pester the news director for a job in the newsroom and if that didn't work out, I would try to get a job in a small market to get my start.

If I wanted to be an RSD instructor, I wouldn't waste my money on college courses.  I would take at least one, maybe more bootcamps, go out like a mofo, get good with women until I felt my skillset was sufficient to teach, then pester you for a job.

The problem with college today is ROI (return on investment).  People pay tens of thousands of dollars to go to college, tuition keeps going up and up, spend an average of 4 years at it and what are they getting in return?  In a lot of cases, like you pointed out, they are getting massive debt and an unemployment check.  So, what is the value of a college degree these days?

I predict that the social narrative on college is going to change.  I think what is going to start happening, is admission levels will eventually taper off and people are going to demand a more specific education directly related to what they want to do becasue they can no longer afford the debt one incurs to go to college.  I am not knocking my education, but if I had to do it over again, I would take classes specifically related to what I wanted to do and skip all the English classes, science classes, phys ed requirements, etc. and just focus on broadcasting classes.

/end rant
4) It's 4th of July and you are in Philadelphia!  How about a shot in front of the Liberty Bell?  Oh!  I forgot!  You're Canadian!  FAIL!
5) Just busting your balls! ;-)

OK!  It's the 4th and I'm going to shove some HEALTHY food in my cakehole and go hit up some sweet, young things at Cowboys tonight!  Take care and God speed to you Owen!

Really liked the second video. You are talking about values, and that we are socially conditioned to live be a certain set of values, that don't necessary resonate with us, and if we don't open our eyes and become aware of this, we'll live a life that we don't want to live. We'll accomplish goals that doesn't resonate with our purpose.
Thank you Owen

My natural buddy who got into the community here in in sf , hooked up with 200+ girls, lota hoties, says if you aren't feeling good and its an off night you shouldn't approach because
1) you'll get rejected and the brain remembers the rejections so it lowers your self esteem over time
2) girls arent a machine you cant force her to be into you with your bad emotinal state
3) you should only approach the girls who give you some kind of appraoch invitation to save your emotional energy.

while i disagree with him he claims every other natural he's ever met does it the same way and its the only way.

totally agree wtih the hammering it out thing..so many nights it was the VERY last girl that I ended up pulling. its the universes final test.lol

Tyler, I just wanted to tell you how great of an experience I had at your hotseat in Philly. I know that when I look back on my life in the future I will see that it was a turning point. Being social and meeting women was the focus of the hotseat but I also see now how this stuff leads to changing your entire life. Your point at the end of the hotseat about how these are the golden years and enjoy your life now, that was something I needed to hear. thanks bro.

Good message, I don't go as hard as i know i could. Like a poster before mentioned, i'm reluctant to open couples grinding or wateva cause i don't see the point in it or i'll see a girl with tons of dudes around her, then my RAS will instantly make me look for an easier chick to approach. It's just about forcing willpower and creating new experiences for yourself.

Not only are there social narratives, but also social given values. Have your own values and standards. Align your action towards them. Problem being that a society cannot exist without at least a fundament of social narratives. It's in our nature to build such communities. As Tyler says, social conditioning is what allows the system to work, there are good things in it. This point needs to be emphasized here, for I can hear some guys screaming "fuck society, fuck social values" and they lose ground.

We're definately sold the illusion of perfection and the promise that it'll lead to happiness.  Parental influence has held me down for a long time, but i guess they were only doing what they thought was right.  Modern media is dangerous with the amount of influence it can have also.  I think the worst thing about it all is that it's designed to make you inadequate, and you're not supposed to do anything above your 'lot', so most of us remained trapped.  Thank fuck I found others who also thought differently to inspire me to change.

@ first  Video:

I really like the idea of how cold approach, stepping out of comfort zone and self-developement transforms a personality over a number of years. Like as you stated in a previous video that if you meet a nerdy guy and meet him again a year later after he's been pushing himself he's actually become a cooler person to hang out with. And in the long run a man of steel ;) or actually a "real man"

plus yesterday after watching the vid i went out alone to the local club. Because I hadn't been planning to go out on my own and because I felt tired, stressed and "out of state" (surprise surprise) my brain came up with all sorts of shit, but I made a deal with myself: I will not leave unless I'd done 10 approaches. Fuck it! I did the approaches, almost all of it went solid, had a fun night, met some buddies later in the night, got some solid numbers, a cutie texted me this morning and is ready for a day two. So how do you like THAT stupid brain?! Really showed the dumbass fucker who's the MOFO REAL in da house! ;)

@ second video

meet bob! It's funny how most of the content of your recent vids has been elaborated on your old blog! I really enjoyed reading that blog... super inspirational

One of the most annoying things about social narratives are the people who try to bully you into their beliefs. You can spend years of your life believing in stupid shit.

I almost envy guys like jeffy who were disillusioned at a young age. Its like cracking out of an egg SUCCESSFULLY, while everybody else is still asleep.. in denial.

dam this is empowering. theres no need to fit in lul.

Crazy shit dude. You're releasing better stuff everyday, thank you very much, it really helps me up and I believe that helps a lot of people too.

About the quetions. I've been hammering out myself till the fucking end at just one area of my life that is my studies. And at this point I was falling into the  "social narrative" that you just said at the second video, like the most people do (study, get a job, retirement .... bla bla bla).

But, few days ago I started to read the articles of RSD Nation, and watched the videos and NOW I'm pushing myself really hard to get out of that fucking social narrative for I do what I want. Needless to say what I want, I just would like to thank you man.

Sincerely,
Richard Silva,
Peace.

Hi Tyler,
Good stuff. However, looking through my own eyes at your video about social conditioning narratives I must say that I feel like you exaggerate a little bit on the negative side of social conditioning. I mean, going to school, finding a job and having a career is not that bad. Not everyone feels like a slave to the system, or that they have no choice. I know a lot of successful people who work for other people and are mentally sharp, intelligent and having a lot of joy in their lives etc. they could easily set up their own business but having a career that fulfils them is just right for them.
Also, having a lifestyle of a guy who sleeps around with many women, goes out  a lot and generally is pimping is not what a lot of guys want. Some men purely want one healthy relationship, one girl and a family, in the least chode way possible.
I think that there is more to social conditioning than meets the eye. It is a proven and tested way of keeping men sane and emotionally healthy. Imagine a world where even %50 of men take your advice and use it?:)

thanks

RSD especially Tyler has covered all this in great depth. Do yourself a favor and get the Blueprint Decoded. In it Tyler covers all the things you're talking about and more.

So inspiring...

On the sidenote i think that FIRST, SECOND and THIRD give a bit of soul to the articles. I don't see a reason to be deleting them or looking down on them. They weren't taking any value from the articles. Fun and self amusement. Right?

too much lack of sleep is unhealthy, being motivated as fuck is awesome in my opinion. pushing sets to the bitter end on 4 hours of sleep is working hard, but not working smart.

2nd video was fuckin awesome though

enjoyed the first video. Great way to pursue a night that is not going your way.

LOVED the second video. Broadening perspectives. It makes me want to go out and seek more experiences so I can figure out whats for me and what's not for me.

I never really thought of the idea that my biological impulses would return after a marriage, which is why I liked your Kobe example. Definitely getting a preenup in the future...haha! Like, its obvious, but I never thought of that possibility.
