Todd

In this article/video you will learn how to BECOME A MORE INTERESTING CONVERSATIONALIST by applying a principle I call "assuming the burden".

Also, I'm writing actual articles again as you can see below...

So I'm back in New York and have continued to have students doing tons of venue changes and pulls each program.  It is truly amazing how transferrable buying temperature is, and how much a girl liking you can make her like your friend.

One amazing story from last night was that my student was in set and about to leave without asking for a phone number.  So I tried to walk in out of nowhere and number close the girl on his behalf.  She declined to give her number.  So I sat down and told her a story intended to capture her imagination and buy some time, and in the middle of the story, she wrote her number down and handed it to my student :).  I love getting assists.

The other thing going on in my life, sadly, has been an ankle injury from playing soccer.  I'm struggling through and will be okay, but it's a pretty big reminder not to take one's time or physical capabilities for granted.  We only have so long to make an impact and achieve our goals;  time is the most precious thing we have.

I'm also excited for these next couple programs as we count down to world summit... Here is my upcoming schedule:

Where I'll be next...

Ok, on to today's video.

This is a new presentation style for me, but one that I think should be highly instructive.  Basically I'm looking for new mediums to showcase good teaching lessons, and one of the main assets I have is my ability to break down interactions.  I sometimes do "mock approaches" with students on bootcamp and they seem to really improve from the experience, so I thought I'd bring the exercise to free tour.

Specifically the lesson of this video is that of "assuming the burden" in a conversation.  There is a certain minimal amount of energy necessary in order to keep a conversation going... and if the other person isn't capable of, or willing to provide that energy (as when you are first approaching) then it is up to you to do so.  I think the example in the video highlights this point fairly well and clearly.

Enjoy and hopefully learn lots!

One other administrative note, to clear up any confusion:

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN INNER CIRCLE DINNER EVENTS AND MEET WINGMEN IN YOUR AREA -- FOR FREE. There has been some confusion on this matter so I want to clarify. The videos and instructor education through Inner Circle is a paid product, but the groups themselves are 100% free to anyone who wants to come. So take advantage of this amazing resource!

GO DEEPER... CLASSIC VID:

Today's video was about opening, and I taught by example.  Here is a more theoretical video about opening that a lot of people enjoyed:

The first pickup looked so stiff. The best part is they were both leaning back from each other.

Will not it be awkward to walk up to girls in daytime ..moving sets...and start talking about random things...will not they think why is he talking about some movie that he saw yesterday...etc....it feels like trying to get away from the fact that i am hitting on her....

i have a hard time talking about random things ..especally when when i open and she shows a cold shoulder,,,it feel i am trying to hook her..or chasing her...

i loved the vid!!! a lot of rsd videos are very theoretical and often times it is hard to take away something practical from the video right away but i enjoyed this one a lot!!

Very insightful.
I wasn't sure of how someone would just out of the blue talk about some random shit that they're into and I now realize the missing key was that the girl does not know WHAT to talk about either and as a man I should take the burden of doing so.

Regards to the new way.. I think it's helpful but I guess it could be repetitive. Without the music and all the audience including the instructor watching you plus not having the motivation, typically these types of demo gaming ends up the guy simply looking like he has completely no game and the instructor mostly having to point out the newbie mistakes.
However watching this video I guess the quality might also depend on the instructor.

Nice video, been doing this in daygame for the past few days. I mean it's usually very slow in the beginning so you have to assume the burden of the conversation

Outstanding video. I really like you using people in the examples. It really makes things so much more clear. This is really been one of the most valuable and understandable RSD videos in a long, long time. Good job, Todd!

helpful video...i have been using questions lately and possibly taking value? i am going to meditate on this new analogy of bringing value to the table. it is not that questions are bad, but leading with questions in a poor me state of mind and not bringing the party so to speak, that is what i need to be focusing on and remembering to do.

I really like your stories & analogies, stuff like that stick in my mind the most. It's still confusing sometimes when they say "be clear in your thoughts, words, and actions" cuz that can mean whole bunch of stuff. Putting it in those terms also turns on my "logical" thinking mind.

But I can easily picture Kool Aid Man busting through and tearing the house down, and naturally "I feel" what it means to bring value. Like sports, you know what to do but would rather not THINK ABOUT HOW TO DO IT....

Tomorrow I'm picturing Kool Aid man.
