The belief you "already get it"

I think out of any habit I have, the best one is that I don't think I "already get it".

I sometimes get reminders of that from reading the forum.  A lot of guys who have limited results post as if they know everything.

I'd suggest not to assume to know how the world works.  I spend tens of thousands of a month on education for a reason.  I don't assume I know everything.

Those few hours that I play the role of "coach" a month is the ONLY time I behave like that.  The rest of the month I try to shut the fuck up and LISTEN to people.

Sometimes YouTube videos will come out with me just listening to other teachers.  People are surprised by it.  This is a random video where I was hanging out listening to Tai - notice how I just sit here listening for a long time.

This is how I spend MOST of my time, not just blabbing and blabbing.  I only blab a lot when teaching because I spent 99% of the month LEARNING.

The question you gotta ask yourself is.... "Do I want results IN MY MIND.... or in the REAL WORLD?"

If you want them in your mind, then talk and talk about how you know everything.

If you want them in the real world, shut the fuck up and listen to people.  Then give a proper test to what they teach.

When I see guys on the forum sometimes just talking and talking, I literally just feel bad for them.  And then I feel like correcting them, but I realize they probably aren't ready to really win, so it is a lost cause.  They're trying to get something else out of their posting.  Ego pump etc.  Not real results.

Here's how to be a GREAT listener:

1) Shut the fuck up.  Drop the stupid ass "I already get it" frame.  Don't continually compare what you're learning to things you already know, or soothe yourself by saying "Oh I already get this cause I'm sooo smart".  Just listen.

(Note if you're already doing this while reading this post.  That's a red flag you have a problem.)

2) Get present to the moment.  Put your awareness 100% on what you're learning

3) Don't judge or assess what you're learning for now.

4) Go TEST what you are learning and see whether or not it's accurate.

5) If it works, awesome

6) If it doesn't work, look for where you may have not interpreted it properly, and see if you can understand and implement it better

7) If it still doesn't work, look for biases of the teacher and drop the ideas for now.  Look for ALTERNATIVE views.

8) Build on what you learn from this through further implementation.  You do not "get it" until you LIVE it.

9) Stay in CONSTANT MOMENTUM with learning and IMPLEMENTING via massive action.

10) Lay back and enjoy the increased money, happiness, sex, relationship growth, experience of life, etc.

Nice advice in cases where the teacher is actually trying to help you.

But for like day trading, look at how many people are out there teaching methods that do not work, and then they blame the student for not being open enough when it doesn't work.  These frauds profit from the clueless.  Your advice is entirely correct for situations where the teacher is trying to benefit the student.  However, it's hard for beginners to know the difference. Cool post.

Tyler, there's a lot of ...dislike... going around about Tai. Including guys like the secretary of the NYC inner circle, who felt that he got no value from his programs and they're mostly a scam.

Do you see a different side to him? Do you believe that he's actually offering value that's commensurate with what he's charging?

I get so analytical with my interactions. I spent days trying to figure out what I did wrong. I should instead focus more on the action and the overall principles.
I am a hyper intelligent guy who needs to know how everything works and analysing these mating rituals is mind boggling. I wish it were that easy for me to sit back and not analyse.
Tips?

Tai Lopez is most certainly a con artist, scammer, and overall scumbag. It’s been well-documented that he has scammed many people. It’s a veritable miracle that he has eluded decades of prison time. I have no idea why a quality man like Owen chooses to spend his time with such a shady degenerate.

I don't have limitations because I choose to focus on what's possible, not on what supposedly can't be done...Ultimately to be the best you have to be hungrier, more focused, willing to die for the shit. I'm willing to go to that length because I'm disgusted by the experience I had in my first two decades of life and can't stand other people not having a rope to pull themselves up. I'm pretty sure I get it already. As long as I warp my brain enough with mind-bending "supplements" I can easily pull almost anyone on Earth. Altered states of consciousness in social environments can literally show you everything as it is.

Yeah man love it.  Maximizes your "growth" surface area.

Thing is you know you're preaching to the converted right?  The more close-minded... well, the more close-minded.

I guess it's a good reminder for anyone who fluctuates between closed and open, or is close-minded in one area and open-minded in another (i.e. everyone - ha)

BTW -- reason why you're getting alot of closed-minded-ness on the forum recently:  there are guys who took the "it's all state/game/confidence" literally, did thousands of approaches then got ultra-bitter and cynical when they felt pickup advice didn't work for them (and tbh didn't really build confidence/game, but at least felt they gave it a ton of effort).  So it seems they feel somewhat misled.

It's a bit sad because the less calibrated / more black-and-white thinking, the less they can be aware of social feedback & how the subtleties of their own state impact reactions. Tough one to crack.

Awesome advice from Tyler except when it comes to actually gaming where acting like you already "get it" gets you good results. I pretend like I'm a guy who girl's throw themselves at and as a result girls throw themselves at me (especially younger ones). That being said always being willing to learn and stfu is very important.

Concerning tai, I bought one of his programs and it's been life changing and I barely even started it.  I'll let you know about the results in a week time. Remind me to tell you please @flawed natural

Toiler, i'd recommend to anyone who have articulated for themselves an intellectual opinion- on ANYTHING- to check out r/changemyview, over at Reddit.

.. but, especially views on social dynamics, how the world works ( should you spend your time on rsdnation responding to fucktards, are my left or right wing ideals reasonable, what ideas of mine have merit, anything you can test ) , society, spirituality ( karma, god, free-will, souls ).

Honestly, empiricism being a core-principle of the Pick-up community, to field test your ideas. Visting a beautiful forum, where hundreds of people will be figuring out how to tear apart your argument, and even interact with you- depending on how much effort you put into your post. Yeah.

It's beautiful.
