Wow!!! Great article. Now I see that I kill the vibe by debating everything in order to demonstrate intelligence and value. At least im not arrogant or authoritative (damn!!!, i might be qualifying myself again).

When I am insecure, I allways say "RIGHT ?" and the one with the shirt.. So funny to see and catch up on.
But if I think of all this great stuff, when I am insecure and wanna have some great convesations, I feel fake and the convesatins stil falls to the ground.
Any good advice to pull these things into your own personality without faking it ?

2) When a girl is trying to impress you, RECOGNIZE it as her QUALIFYING herself. If you reject it, you'll come across insecure, or socially unaware.
Screwed this up the other day. Out at a bar, and some chick (barely 21) is hanging around a bunch (5?) of Military guys. I'm having fun with the guys, not paying hardly any attention to her (my daughter is 21 after all). All of a sudden I hear her say something along the lines of "Do I look hot?" to one of the guys. The chode is giving her the validation she is looking for, and I roll my eyes to my own buddy and mutter "OMG Whatever..." Apparently she heard me, but WTF do I care? She was so not in my reality.
So an hour later or so she engages one of the military guys I'm chatting with and intterupts with "I'm going to join the military!" And I just blurt out "Why? You a dyke?" (Totally delivered as a joke. She's hanging with guys, totally feminine, good 8 or so...) Anyway she gets all pissed, and wants her friends to kick my ass. Fortunately, I was pretty social proofed by then and the friends who weren't trying to get in her pants (2 of the 5) thought it was funny enough that they tried to defuse it. But damn! I gotta be more aware of the power of a neg, AND I totally missed that she was qualifying herself.

I have run into the problem of clinging to topics quite a few times actually and realized it myself that it does leave you with nothing to talk about when you interact with her again. She associates with you as "the guy that does this" or "the guy that knows this" which doesn't leave you much room to talk about much more thus creating an uncomfortable situation. This was a good read.
