Anybody doing this?

I've started going with my girlfriend (who's an expert) and it's pretty cool. For those who don't know, it's a 90 minute yoga routine done in a hot room (105 degrees, 40% humidity). The routine is the same every time you go, and there is an instructor who tells you what to do (in kind of a running monologue, not a lot of silences).

I feel amazing after each class and feel a lot more energized/healthy in general. The class itself is very intense but you can sit and rest when you need to.

I can see a number of benefits for RSD folks:
1. It's basically a 90 minute meditation session. It's so damn hot that you have to focus entirely on your body and the instructor's monologue and silence your thoughts. The way I feel after class is the same as being in state. Just super relaxed, centered, and clear headed. It's a lot easier to meditate/focus in Bikram class than sitting in my apartment (at least for me).
2. You'll get in amazing shape if you do it consistently.
3. It forces you to eat healthy and hydrate well, or you won't make it through the class.
4. There are lots of hot hot girls in there. You can't approach them during the class, but I would imagine they are super approachable afterward (everyone is really chilled and relaxed then). I'm happy in my relationship with my GF, so I haven't tried.

Downsides:
1. By the time you go there, do the class, go home and shower, you've used up 2-2.5 hours of your day.
2. You definitely have to plan the rest of your day around it- drinking lots of water (with electrolyte mix), and not eating for a few hours before.
3. It's expensive. I'm currently on a $49 1st month special, but it will be about $100/month to continue.
4. You can't drink alcohol (or at least no more than 1-2 drinks) within a day of class or you'll be hurting.

His yoga might be good, but his power combined with that ego is scary... What a shame.

Been doing that in the last month of winter, also special offer. Definitely going to do it again next winter, not sure if I'll take further classes in summer.
Otherwise yes the price is the main deterrent. Also in the meanwhile there are also non bikram branded "hot yoga" offers available.

Furher advantages I noticed at girls i know that do it, are improvement of posture and even skin, since with the crazy amount of sweating you get all the dirt out of the skin.

Not noticed anything about alcohol, but very seldomly drink more than 1-2 drinks anyway.

Approaching chances are minimal, even after class, after shower the women just go home. At least at the place I've been, they don't hang aorund, so you've to luckly to just meet up outside the garderobe on the way out. This is totally different to the gym where everybody is hanging around all the time when not training right now.

got a very esoteric yoga instructor who offers a very interesting life perspective. For instance, he'll talk about drawing our attention to our breathe and making a focal point on tension and relaxation as individual lessons for letting go.
Thats actually pretty standard for yoga.

Yeah, the studio I go to seems to be a little more social after class, but you may need to loiter around the lobby and then "happen to leave at the same time" to chat up one of the girls.
