Gym Workout - Sabotaging Progress?

 Guys, what are the best ways to gain large amounts of muscle fast without adding any fat? For me to be the ultimate PUA, I need to be super buff so that I can the boyfriend if he's an obstacle.

I'm only making a joke of course. But it has to do with something like that. A couple of years ago I was a regular gym visitor. Mostly weight workouts, which I did about 3 times per week. I stopped that after a few years and focused more on cardio. I would go out for 30+ minutes every day and totally enjoy the run. Sometimes, if I was bored or feeling like it, I'd go for a second run the same day.

But there was a huge catch: What motivated me was pussy. Either how I would impress girls by how good I'd look by working out some other fantasy where I in one or another way impress women. As soon as I'd turn on the mp3 player, I'd be lost in my little dreamworld.

I know this thinking pattern is very destructive as it reinforces "I am not good enough", therefore I need to impress. But on the other hand it provides the only motivation to do something, – working out – which is good for me. So I stopped working out entirely a few weeks ago, and said it can't further strengthen such pattern…

Or am I just to strict with myself and does what I think during these couple of hours every week have no real effect on my life/actions? I don't want to go out, kill my ego by doing socially awkward things to get away from impressing women or wanting their approval, but at the same time work against it by fantasizing during workouts.

Am I making any sense here? Anyone in a similar situation?

I think working out for, "pussy," is perfectly fine. It is, ultimately, why anybody would workout... Even girls do it for pussy.

As for gaining muscle: lift moderalty heavy, 12-10-10-8 reps on each exercise. Limit machine use, opting for free weights. 30 minutes is lame, think an hour to a hour & a half. 4 times a wk.

Yeah, the first question about muscle building was really only a joke. But thanks anyways.

But working out to impress and SPECIFICALLY fantasising while listining to music while working out totally counters the efforts to "be enough", to your ego over and over again.

Destroying your ego? What the fuck am I reading? Who thinks like this? Just go to the fucking gym, fuck girls. It's not that difficult. Jesus Christ... First world problems. Does your iPhone give you ego attacks when the 4g is too slow as well?

Yes, to me it seems like the exact opposite things at different times.

- During the day I try to constantly push my comfort zone, do weird stuff so people think I'm a complete dick. (Stop caring about what other people think)
- Then I go home start working out and fantasise about how I can impress these exact same people.

It's much like eating a clean and healthy diet but getting up in the middle of the night to eat half a cake every day.

Oh, and the "impressing" is probably deep as fuck, so I don't want to strengthen it on purpose...

 Doing weird things is just that - weird.

Theres some old Tyler post (only using this as an example because i know no one will listen to just me) where its called "Dress cool and act normal", where he says that its the 'foundation' to getting pussy.

People take a lot of rsd stuff out of context or try and use it before they have the 'foundations' down and end up looking like sociopaths. I mean I'm a weird guy but not a socially weird guy (big difference).

I didn't address the gym part because at the core it's just you trying to be weird and going down some spiral.

Be normal. Dress cool. Go out. Have friends. Have interests/hobbies and direction in your life.

In the gym I look like a dick but thats because I'm there to lift heavy weights and push to new weight and increase reps not 'be weird'. I do love girls liking my body and people in general noticing it too but you know what? I love my body more than anybody else ever could.

Also for motivation a bad thing? This is fucking rsd! And its nature. Lol.
