I think my favorite movie of him is The Sea Inside. He's stuck on a bed as a paraplegic yet is still as charismatic as ever, even lands a girlfriend if I remember right lol.
You're right. It is based on a true story and that man found a girlfriend even when he was stuck on a bed. She was the one that helped him to die, she confessed a few years ago.

Also, check out "Che" if you guys get a chance. It's on Netflix. The majority of people will not agree with the political side of it but consider this while watching it:

- Che's constant pursuit of knowledge
- His ability to motivate those around him
- His unwavering committment to his goals (revolucion)
- Frame control

He epitomizes a man on his path. Oscar worthy performance.

As much as I read great books, I spend time watching the RIGHT kind of movies to stimulate my mind.

I think it's suffice to say that, we've all gone through the process of having Walt Disney impact our take on reality. Consequently, personal development and exposure to reality showed us how wrong that "reality" is.

Thing is, just like with books, there's the right kind of movies and the wrong kind of movies. The problem is, the way cinemas and the entertainment world works, is that we're mostly exposed to the wrong kind of movies IMO. Whereas with books, it's a different ball game and leaves more room for options.

But so do movies - If one takes the time to do some research. That's why I'm here ;0)

Now, what I used to look for to determine the RIGHT kind of movies, are factors that adhered to the personal development principles I was studying... E.g. examples of alpha dudes, success, overcoming big challenges etc.

Today, those factors are still part of my selection, but more so, I like movies that CHALLENGE ALL notions of my reality and stimulate my artistic interest in terms of expression, acting and story-telling. A lot of these traits I've found in European movies. My two favourite actors are Javier Bardem (Spanish) and Vincent Cassel (French / Dude in my avatar). Not only are they both married to 2 hot ladies, but they make AWESOME movies with great performances and stories.

Another great thing about the RIGHT kind of movies is that the stories and characters challenge my logical side. In many of these movies, there's not always FINAL conclusions, there's not always LINEAR progressions, there's not always GOOD/BAD, there's mostly not anything you wouldn't find in REAL life - especially examples of failure and lower state of consciousness. But the way those latter factors are exposed themselves, gives the audience a chance to LEARN from them and doesn't take them as being the default state. E.g. chode is exposed to alpha dude, his beliefs are challenged, but then alpha dudes own beliefs are challenged based on some of the RIGHT things the chode does. I LOVE it!

Anyways, below is a couple of movies I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! Only the best of the best and I've included a brief intro of what I got out of it and the trailer. Hope you can use it.

"BIUTIFUL"  by Alejandro Gonsalez Inarritu. Starring Javier Bardem. "The journey of Uxbal, a conflicted man who struggles to reconcile fatherhood, love, spirituality, crime, guilt and mortality amidst the dangerous underworld of modern Barcelona".
Notes: Shows a harsh reality of a man struggling to provide for his kids in poverty. Amazing performance from Javier Bardem who fights through the one negative circumstance after the other

"IRREVERSIBLE" by Gaspar Noe. Starring Vincent Cassel and his wife Monica Bellucci. "Follows events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass. Her boyfriend and ex-lover take matters into their own hands by hiring two criminals to help them find the so that they can exact revenge. A simultaneously beautiful and terrible examination of the destructive nature of cause and effect, and how time destroys everything"
Notes: The hardest movie I have ever watched in my life! I wanted to literally puke, cry, laugh and punch a wall. Vincent Cassel shows a PERFECT example of being a man and the story itself leaves you speechless.

"LITTLE WHITE LIES" by Guillaume Canet. Starring the majority of top French Actors. "A near-fatal accident leaves one friend in the hospital while the rest go on their annual vacation. But their secrets and personal grief threaten to drive them apart"
Notes: Great movie that depicts various personalities and friendships. Related to many of the personality types and gave me a new perspective on myself as a friend.

"THE SEA INSIDE" by Alejandro Amenabar. Starring Javier Bardem. "The real-life story of Spaniard Ramon Sampedro, who fought a 30 year campaign in favor of euthanasia and his own right to die"
Notes: Made me instantly grateful for having the physical abilities to do what I can do every day. Questions my perception of the value of life and the way the story unfolds couldn't be better. Javier Bardems performance made me cry.

"THE INTOUCHABLES" by Olivier Nakache & Eric Toledano. Starring Francois Cluzet & Omar Sy. "After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker"
Notes: This movie made me PISS my pants from laughing! It shows how to make the best of a worst situation and how perception is reality

"VICKY, CHRISTINA, BARCELONA" by Woody Allen. Starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz & Scarlett Johansson. "Two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture."
Notes: Although it's a movie by Woody Allen, it's great. Javier Bardem exhibits the Don Juan player type who sleeps with 3 women, Scarlett Johansson & Penelope Cruz make out and it shows different types of relationships with women of different feminine energy.

Thanks for the suggestions these look right up my Ally.  I'd like to add to the list two that would fit perfect on the original list:

The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Official Trailer In 1968, a Czech doctor with an active sex life meets a woman who wants monogamy, and then the Soviet invasion further disrupts their lives.
Basically a very pimp doctor who goes after lots of women, gets a little soft for one of the innocent ones that he wants to cherish. But he still gets visted by and vists his prominant ex-flame.  Lots of sexuality, great to watch with a girl who you want to open up.

The Dreamers - More love, sex, intamacy and conflict.
