I havn't had a Facebook in probably close to three years. At the time I closed it because I didnt really have friends and it depressed me. Now I know that my wall would be poppen and I would be talking to girls all the time on it. The thing is I really don't like the idea of Facebook knowing all my personal info and having my pictures and basically there being a record of my life that anyone can find.

My question to you guys is do you think a Facebook really makes a rats ass worth of difference? More to point does it make a difference for campus girls?

I feel like at this point my Ego wants a Facebook so that I can have all these people post and shit and flirt with girls to make up for my depressing social life when I had a FB.

Thoughts you guys?

I deleted mine about 2 yrs ago and altho I did lose touch with a lot of people, I never regretted it.

I remember on my facebook everyone thought I was a huge pimp because thats how I portrayed myself to be, but in real life my game was weaaak and was in a very negative headspace.

Facebook reinforces negative behavior and advertise to the world the good and bad aspects of your personality.
I used facebook to make myself look and feel popular when in fact I really wasnt. It was very manipulative, shallow and fake, and a lie. In order to truly evolve, confront my darkside, and face who I really was at the time, I had to delete it.

I no longer have thoughts of, "How will this make me look on facebook," and "I wonder what so and so thinks of me" and all those gay thoughts associated with facebook.

Awesome answer, I feel like our headspace is very similar on this.

I think I will stay Facebookless despite the temptation. I feel like I would have some amazing convos with my real friends who I like but ultimately my ego would get the best of it.

Cheers to us, the one percent

Whatever you want. Just don't be attached to it in any way. It can be ok to lay ppl you already know, and to plan parties and get new ppl into your circle.

NOPE.  WRONG.  this is bullshit low-risk thinking - this is social conditioning that has LITERALLY emerged in the last 5 years - that shit literally happened before our very eyes.  you can contact whoever you want at any time, it's SUPER easy to find out someone's contact info through your friends' friends

you are not going to miss out on anything dude, no hot chick you wanted to bang in hs is going to reach out and message you to come over and fuck her over facebook.  no long lost bro is going to message you and say hey do you want a million dollars???

you know where i get bitches and money?  REAL LIFE

Here's a really cool short documentary I just saw. Was gonna post it as a thread but here you go. If you like it I think you should put it in the opening post so more people can see it.

I thought about that question an entire day (which was waste of time).

Just keep it. It is a tool that is designed to SERVE YOU. If you connect any negative emotion with it, it's your fault. In my perfect world, there is nothing like Facebook, because people either do connect with each other, or don't. But I have empathy and since "socially conditioned" people DO USE IT as a communication channel, I keep my profile as well.

If you don't need it, then delete it. But why not keep the profile, log into it once in a while and preserve the connection to your old classmates and friends. If you worry about privacy, your future employer etc, make it as private as possible and create a neutral profile.
