Tyler advocates self punishment, as do Tony Robbins.
Anyone done it? I haven't really found a good way to use it.
The way I see it, any time I fail to take right action, procrastinate and choose mediocrity
I build long term pain. As Tony says, feeling bad is an action signal. It means something is wrong in your life and the pain is reminding you to step up and do something about it.
Anyway, let's say I'm on my to work tomorrow and I spot this hottie in the metro that is just my type and I fail to approach.
I'll feel like a bitch. Isn't this punishment enough? What type of active self punishment would work in this situation. Any ideas?

Try positive psychology instead.

I chew myself out in my field reports when an opportunity presents itself and I become a bitch.  When I analyze my shit I feel the pain of regret again.

it's just a method to get shit done

I encourage myself positively instead because I was a complete dick to myself for 20 years already.
