I visit SF on business at least once a year, sometimes more. My days get pretty busy and I often prefer to sleep in early and get some rest or just have a casual night out on these trips.

The last few times I've been in SF however, I decided to at least sample the night life. Here's what I've noticed:

1. quite simply, SF is just about the dirtiest city I have ever visited. Broken glass, trash, food, and just random items are everywhere--on the sidewalks, in the gutters, on the streets and especially in alleys. The smell of urine and just random fermenting garbage is quite common. Even "nice" areas like the marina are far from pristine. I really don't understand why it's residents tolerate such filth. Just about any night out is less fun as a result of this. And that's not even mentioning the homeless who harass you every 5 feet on the sidewalks.

2. The bars get crowded to such an extent that by a certain hour, there's almost no point in being there. It takes so much effort just to get to the bathroom or even walk 5-10 feet in any direction, the thought of having a good time seems like a distant possibility.

3. the girls on average, are well, average. There are a couple of cute girls interspersed here and there, and an occasional handful of "hot" girls will pass through, but by and large, SF pales in comparison to most college towns and is at best average and probably below average, among major cities.

4. The girls are poker faced, neither friendly nor hostile. I've had several conversations with ok looking gals there where they seemed bored or simply wanted me to go away. I'm not one for sticking around where I'm not wanted, so I usually leave these sets. Oddly, these girls almost always followed me later and caught up to me, and seemed to indicate strong interest.

5. Average looking girls are hit on with a level of gusto and frequency I thought impossible. 5's and 6's literally seem to have groupies--hordes of guys hitting on them, or traveling with 3/4/5 guys in town. It seems almost like a female paradise where the average looking girl can become a queen.

TL-DR; SF seems like a bizarre, other dimensional city where average looking girls can easily attract lots of men, even many successful good looking men. Can someone confirm or disconfirm these impressions? I don't live in this city, so perhaps someone who lives there or games there regularly can give a more positive spin.

I guess, at the very least, this is a pretty solid, unbiased, review of the nightlife of San Francisco.

Thanks for the solid info, OP

BTW: If you want "dirty" come on through New York... but you probably won't have much fun, cause the streets are COVERED in trash... Makes San Fran look like the fucking garden of eden.

I acknowledge that rating girl's looks is a highly subjective matter, but my impression is that the 'ceiling' for girls in SF is about 8.5. SF is simply not one of the major players for actresses and models like LA or NYC. I'm also guessing that the unbelievably high quality of food and drinks in the city is an overwhelming temptation for many girls to indulge a bit too much.

As far as the not completely surly attitude of some of the girls, the aggressive panhandlers and the generally competitive and overcrowded nature of the city probably contributes to this. SF-ers also seem to take pride in differentiating themselves from their socal counterparts, as in "we're not fake," meaning we're going to be surly and rude.

lol it does seem like a girl 6.5+ here could hook up with any guy they wanted.

Woops I meant to put up a video of the "south park smug alert" episode but accidentally put that one up instead.  I guess this vid is still somewhat relevant tho since there a hot hipster chick in the video.

Looks like an extensive list of excuses you've compiled there.

This is really important work you're doing, I would really urge you to continue with it.

You should probably just write off SF as a place to game. It's obviously some sort of dimensional black hole of game. Right when you land at SFO just mentally switch off "game" mode in your mind.

Next business trip to SF you should probably just meditate in your hotel room or concoct new green smoothie recipes from the many local organic food products. Or check out Beach Blanket Babylon or enjoy a fine bowl of shrimp gumbo from Bubba Gump's Shrimp company on the Pier.

Your assessment of SF is pretty on point.

Compare that to San Jose, with twice the amount of chodes and ugly girls.

Achilles said it best, "if you can game here, you can game anywhere"

The man who can create water in the desert will always have enough to drink. Don't let this shit stop you from getting what you want. You're a businessman right? Plenty of businesses boom in economic recessions. In fact, they usually are stronger and better built, because of the harsher conditions forcing them to adapt to survive.
