Hey dude, I have found a simple strategy that seems to be working for me. Go to the gym regularly (not crazy like once a week is fine) and just increase the weights you are lifting every 1-2 weeks. Don't worry about a goal just keep doing it without fail. Eventually you will look in the mirror and say, "sweet that's good progress". Do toning excercises in the week after you have recovered (a couple days after the gym sesh). I disagree with Magellan, it's not actually that hard and I have been getting very good results without professional advice. You just need to keep it up consistently, if you lift more weight/ do more reps each time then you WILL get bigger. There are lots of people living in less affluent parts of the world who don't even have internet let alone a personal trainer and are ripped to fuck. P.S. check your inbox
sorry in case I wasn't clear, start toning immediately, just don't give up building. Forget about goals just keep doing it and then decide when you're happy to stop and just do maintenance.

Once you figured out how big you want to be, you bulk up to that size.
And then you cut (aka tone).
Right now I'm bulking, and putting on a lot of mass, until I have the muscle mass I want, then I'll cut so I can be ripped.
