Yeah back in the day was the shit but like everything shit evolves and changes into something else. It was like attack of the nerds but I agree there was definitely more of a guys club feel to it more than now.
I think the big turning point was The Game coming out which really put all the ideas out into the public, this made companies like RSD have to change to be more natural which in reality is what guys need to be.
The nerds don't stick in this for very long now as before they could go round in circles doing routines and wearing stupid outfits but now the reality is you have to transform yourself completely which very few people are willing to do.

Maybe the guys who got good are too busy getting laid and living a good life to be fucked with distractions, and the guys who didn't went back to the lives they had before. That's not all emcompassing of course, but that's my theory.

Thing is, you don't need an excuse to relate with people, you don't need a subject or anything like that. These kind of things are gimmicky excuses for friendship.
In these days people are starting to understand that you can't practice game, you can only BE game, and even that is incorrect, because you already ARE game, you just need to get out of your own way.
You can talk about pick-up, but there isn't much to talk about, you can't have strategies, routines, principles, or anything like that, in the end it comes down to self-mastery, or more like letting everything go.
Once you get to know who you really are, you are able to relate with people more, relax more, you don't need a fraternity, or an excuse to talk to others. Being a nerd is who you think you are, not who you are.

natural game is more congruent to who you are personally, so you're picking up girls based on that rather than openers/routines someone else has made. It's a bit of a trade off, pickup now requires you to go out and truly commit to the game to get good at it, whereas before you can open a girl and run a routine on her and you'll feel as though youre connecting with her in some way.

I agree with all of these theoretical posts in principle, but on the rare occasions I go out with pickup guys, they look the same to me as before: nerdy and anxious. But there is one difference: they are not having as much fun as they used to. I guess I just miss the outlandishness of the good ol' days: LED t shirts and fur coats just added a fun, wacky touch to the conventional 'going out' weekends. It wasn't just the goofy outfits, it was the sense that you could explode social conventions and create something totally new. Pickup is no longer playful, it's disciplined now. And that's too bad.

Pick-up used to be disciplined and weird, now it's just normal. There's no larger than life thing to it, it's just sex. The old days was just misunderstood overcompensation. __________________

And it was less about the girls than about nerds having a fraternity to hang with. Hit the diner before going out, stay out all night, then either pull a girl (less likely) or have fun breaking down game for hours endlessly into the wee morning hours!
Now, the forums are largely quiet, or have quietly disappeared, with the exception of RSD. A few big city lairs are still thriviing, but mainly due to intra-community squabbling and drama which would embarrass a houseful of PMS-ing sorority girls.
We were going to change the world and ourselves. Now, the forums are empty and pickup guys are reduced to pitiful exchanges of one upsmanship. Where's the love, man? Where did we go wrong?
