I had a friend I met at HOTSeat request these excercises becasue he left hotseat early but I told him they didnt do them which was good because I rather them talk more and tell storeis reather then do some gay excercises that we can easily find elsewhere.

SO here I will post some excercises that they did show us in the first hotseat and I will add some effective ones I learned at my improv classes. TBH i have never repeated these excercises before going out and would like to know if anyone actually does this before going out.

EArlier in my progress I would look at billboards pasing by and try to see how many new woreds I could come up with from the words. EG. If i see the word progressive on a billboard on my way to school I would then spend a couple mins coming up with new words using the eltters in progressive: press, verse, prose, gore, sore, sire, rise , etc.. These excercises are liek sharpenening a knife(ur brain).

One excercise I remember from first hotseat in ATL was where one person is told to talk about anything while the other one shouts him down in a negative way talking shit almost heckling him loud and louder and louder and ur job is to be able to talk louder than him and not be phased and continue talking and saying whatever your saying.

TBH that's the only excercise I remebr from hotseat but i will now get into some imporv excrecises because that is where the hotseat excrercisses oirignate from. I highly recommened u guys take an improiv class a lot fo fun and performing improv inforont of a real audience is good for ur confidence and humor and u learn whats fuunny and wahts not and the basic structure of comedy: "YES and..."

OK one of my favorite excersices is zip zap zop.
THen u can make it complicated where u cant do it back to the person who just did it to u and it gets more cimplicated introducing more words other than zip zap zop which carry more rules whihc at this time i forget.

that youtube channel has more improve excersises some that i dont know about im sure.

Moving on heres another one of my favorite ones:

U start off with a subject word like "cell phone" then the enxt person has to say the first object they think off when they hear the word cellphone. So say the enxt person thought of the word jail cell then the next person would ahve to think of the first word that they think of when they hear jail cell and so on. THe object is to be able to eventually come back or bridge the gap to the original word cellphone in about 10-15 words.

EG. subject word: "headphones". 1)earmuffs 2)beer 3) condoms 4)penis 5) dickhead 6) headphones end game.

One of the challenges kids faced in this last game was they would not come up with a word. THe whole point is to say any word it doesnt even ahve to be realted but jsut say antyhign. There are bviously parralles to this game and pickup.

One other excercises i remember was when one person ina group starts telling a madeup story. THis first person has to make one sentence and the next person has to take the last word of that sentence and use that to come up with a nother sentence to add on to the story and each time u have to make the story crazier and so on.

AT this point this is all i remember and i recommend u guys to takeup improv classes i used to pay $150 for each semster about 7-8 classes and then one final show infront of a live audience. Althogh I learned that my humor is a bit different then white ppl humor but thats not to say that i didn tfind them funny at all. But u elarn a lot a bout urself and are able to learn the strucutre of comedy;. ITs a lot of fun and soimething u can invite ur girl to to see u perform like a rockstar aha

If u guys know of excercises i did not mention please post them up.

oh i just thought of one more which is stupid fun, jsut make upa  gibrish alnguage wiht ur firend and go back and forht like ur having a real convo LOL

thanks OMAR, good stuff!
I also had to leave early at the hot seat  and furthermore I am interested in things like being spontaniouse and talking without any filters. It think an improv class will be great! Just searched for a place to do it.

By the way, I once read about a nice book in order to be more spontaniouse. I remember it was a book for actors or for people who are interested in improv classes. Do you know the name of the book?

Haha, yeah one thing I found funny about HS marketing is how it talked about exercises to help "hardwire" the learnings in to our brain like it's sme kind of advance techonology when really it's jst basic improv exercises. Still helpful though.

Here afre my faves from Hotseat. Has really been helping my verbal game.

1) tell a boring story as if it's rally interesting
2) Free associate words for 30 seconds (or more): Keys, door, lock, open, shut, dog, hamster, black, night, batman, christian bale, joker, cards, game, boy, girl, pokemon, type, run, tired, heavy...etc
3) say a sentence and then say a new sentence with the word that finished the last sentence: Batman is a comic book character. Characters are fictional people. People is another word for the human race, race refers to ethnicity. Different ethnicities have different cultures. Culure refers to art, traditions and music. Music is played with instruments...etc

There is also the meditative floating word game.

You sit there and let random words "arise" and you're not associating off the environment or off of previous words.

e.g.
dick
cool
hi
weird
everyone
sluts
hallelejuah
snap
turtle
burpee
fart
spank
jalepeno

and so forth.
