Not a fan of vanity training. I guess most guys train to "look good in a v-neck" which is understandable, but from an athletic standpoint, these complex training regimens are a complete waste of time. What's the value of doing "Standing EZ Bar Curls", if you can't jump higher than me to rebound? What's the value of doing all this shit to look tougher when a simple joint manipulating will dislocate your shoulder, or break your spine? This is really bad advice.

If you're lifting for athletic strength (not vanity) you should only really do 3 lifts: deadlift, overhead press, squat. The things that all 3 of these lifts train is BALANCE. They also give you the highest muscle gain to energy invested.

Swimming is really important in conjunction with heavy strength training. Swimming works the small muslces and joints you can't work out with weights and it prevents injuries. Doing all these complex lifts without warming your muscles is a certain way to get injured.

keep it simple and follow a 4 day split.

monday - chest/biceps/calves
tuesday - legs/abs
wednesday-off
thursday-back/calves
friday-off
saturday-shoulders/triceps/abs
sunday-off

diet - eat good calories and take in more around 1gramprotein/bodyweight in pounds.

gym goal - get the pump in your muscles, train for 30-40 minutes then get the fuck out.

its all work. and its very beautiful. my mind disappears when i touch weights

Swimming is great cardio like literally I think the best.

Doesn't fuck your joints up. In fact i'd like to take it up instead of running.

Nothing...as a crossfitter i can recommend both short and long met-cons.  Varied training that keeps your body guessing and a paleo'ish diet will have you looking great in no time.

Lot if wrong info in this thread.

Once you start training like an athlete..instead of a guy who stands in front of the mirror...you will surpass any gains you have ever made in the gym.  Function fitness will be the new norm in like 5 years.  This is why most globo gyms are slowly starting to incorporate X-fit type classes....

Hey Brad, thanks for the program. I started it a week ago, and my body fucking aches. I replaced the sqats with weighted lunges, because of my back. RSD has needed a post like this for the Lifter newbies like myself lol.
