Well I am really metal and play in a fucking awesome band, so i don't even need to try hard when it comes to those type of girls. The more you have in common with a girl, the more in the bag she is. How do you feel about going out solo? My friends are chodes and I have been going out solo, but I feel its hard to really analyze some approaches because I forget.
Most of my pickup career has been solo. You can't even begin to get good at pickup unless you are able to become self reliant and game solo. Generally a wingman becomes a crutch for newbies that pussy out on approaching. Become an approach machine first, then maybe get a wing and do all the approaching while he just talks to the girls you don't want. Even if you have a wing you should still have atleast a 1 or 2 solo nights, gaming girls. I also get laid more without a wing usually, but having a wingman is good for motivation and keeping you on track when you are fucking up. You have to push eachother to become better, and create awesome adventures together Gaming solo will help you to work better with a wing because the areas of your game that having a wingman might cover up will become tighter and increase your overall abilities. __________________

What does the term "social skills" mean to you? Isthere truly an "objective" way to define "social skills"? Or is it a subjective kind of term that has been used for hundreds of years? Is it subjective and everyone has their own definition/interpretation of the term "social skills"? Cool thread. I'm sure it'll help people out. Thanks.

Well first off, this question is completely pure mental masterbation, but if you want my personal thought that I am pulling out of my ass right now, then here are my thoughts.Having good social skills means that you can easily build relationships with others, influence the thoughts and opinions of your peer group, get people to comply to your will voluntarily through communication skills, and to be able to read and understand underlying motives from others. For a really good reference on social skills I reccomend the book How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnagie. It is a classic and also extremely accurate. By using the techniques in his book, you will easily have improved relations with other people.

how can I be as awesome as you?
I dunno, you might already be more awesome than me, but not even know it. The philosophy that I live by is to be myself 100% and go for the things I want in life, no matter how unrealistic. If you be yourself 100% you will only attract people into your life that you want to hang out with, and by going for the things you want you won't be running from the things you are afraid of. The most important thing you can do is surround yourself with high quality people that have the things you want to have. You become the average of the 5 people you hang out with the most, and the books you read. As far as being an ultra fucking guitar master, practice 4 hours a day for the next 14 years and get a good teacher. Start listening to bands like Wintersun, Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Insomnium, Immortal, Dissection, Mayhem, Lord Belial, Necrophagist, Death, Micheal Angelo Batio, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Metallica, King Diamond, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, Motley Crue, Cacophony, Steel Panther, Ozzy, Ensiferum, Norther, Equilibrium, Vinnie Moore, Rusty Cooley, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Practice learning their music.__________________

The social skills question... there's a certain amount of unreactivity that goes with the territory. People disagree with me all day long. But I don't react. Seriously. Like, there's nothing on my face, not a frown, not a loss of countenance, not a deep breath, NOTHING. Just a pause, while I listen to what they're saying.
I make people comfortable, and they are comfortable disagreeing with me. They agree sometimes too. But because of this, when people are both comfortable around you, and comfortable to disagree, then that is a clue that you possess at least a rudimentary form of leadership skill, and therefore social grace.
I'm still developing this, as we all are, but that's where I'm at with it. Often the best lessons come in a "negative" form, such as "failing to win," that phrase I keep repeating constantly. Pick-up is just like this. The stuff that helps you get the skills the fastest are the hardest knocks.
