The event was great. I have always viewed self-help as a series of beliefs and actions you can take to better yourself, as well as a series of beliefs and actions that you might be doing that need to be stripped away. Tyler really made a good point about negativity and why we get sucked into it. The seductive nature of negativity is that it allows the person to ignore the larger-scale problems in their life. It is a distraction. Negativity is essentially a world of warcraft without the subscription fee. It is an easy way out. THIS WAS INCREDIBLY VALUABLE. I view the advice on "what not to do" to be equally important as the advice "what you should be doing". Not only did Tyler tell us that negativity is bullshit, but he told us the common reason of why we do it. Now I understand my brain's mechanism of why I let small things piss me off, I can be introspective and understand that my brain is trying to distract me and procrastinate. Tyler also related with my issues with existence. It was nice to hear that a role model of mine struggles with thoughts of life/death (though it should be obvious). These thoughts and concerns give me panic attacks from time-to-time. There is so much value in the details that Tyler has deconstructed. Tyler has found a good way of delivering advice to people who are fucked up/scattered and struggling and actually want to change. I don't know what more he could be doing for the community, aside from packing Jeffy's van with women and delivering them to our doorsteps.

Free tours are always awesome and always changing.

I can't wait to see where Tyler takes the field of self-help. Hardcore deconstructionalists have massive power in changing the world. Understanding psychology magnifies the power. I'm just excited!

Thanks to Julien and Tyler, and that well-put-together-dude who spoke for a half hour.

Thanks man appreciate it!  That event was really good, too bad the microphone failed.  I'm planning to put up a short clip of extra seminar from Austin Hot Seat instead.

That well put together guy is Nathan, who's been teaching since 2007 in Austin. Here's that video of his speech I recorded. Wish I would have recorded Owen's as well if I knew the mic would go out! Actually ironically I think there was a guy trying to record the speech and Owen joked about him staying present while he was trying to record lol.
