I feel a man to woman relationship should largely be like this. The man is the man. But their relationship defnitely sounds primitive.

When I lived in China I met this girl. Young, hot, and innocent. I took her under my wing. I paid her cell phone bills, which for me were a drop in the bucket, picked out clothes and shoes that I bought for her, and took her out to restaurants. Much like the French husband, the thought of splitting a dinner bill is an insult to me.
"Finally," I thought to myself, "I found a real woman who has no problem letting a man be a man." I feel big and powerful, right?
Here's the problem with this.
In order for this kind of relationship to work, the woman must STILL be intelligent and capable. If she is stupid, no matter how hot you find her or how much of an ego boost you get from owning her, you will eventually tire of her dullness and begin to resent her. Secondly, if she isn't capable, you will similarly begin to grow impatient until you lose respect for her. For a man who thinks this is the only pussy he can get, this is an acceptable situation. For guys like us, with choice, it's a joke.
In other words, if you want a kept woman, she must fulfill two conditions:
1. Be a worthy partner.
2. Actually love you.
The reason the author's relationship works is because she was a successful woman to begin with, who then decided to take on this traditional role. A woman like this is difficult to find. Also, note that if you want this kind of relationship, you better be affluent enough to pull it off.
My point is, while this arrangement is, indeed, ideal, since it conforms to evolutionary gender dynamics, no matter what your liberal whacko professors tell you, it is very difficult to find. Because if you go around actively seeking a woman such as this, you will likely find the ones who merely want you for your money. If so, no matter how wealthy you are, you will begin to feel she is a burden and you will resent having to waste your money on her on principle, because she just won't be worth it.
I don't want some masculine "career woman" who thinks "baby" is a dirty word. I eventually want a woman who understands her greatest joy is being a mother, and if she wants to work part-time, that is great. But she MUST, no matter what, be a fucking intelligent and capable individual. Otherwise she'll just get on my fucking nerves, like the one in China did. (She loved me, but she was nevertheless uneducated, materialistic, and hysterically dramatic.)
Men who feel victimized by ballbusting feminazified behaviour might think, "Who cares, I just want a bitch that does what I tell her," but unfortunately that will only satisfy for a short while.
All the more reason to experience many, many women, so that you can make the best-informed decision one day when you are ready.

It's possible I'm coming from a different place than this Pascal character. Me being a broke, early 20s, frat boy american and him being a mid-50s, French, construction tycoon, but what the fuck does this guy find attractive in her?
Is she naive enough to think that that he doesn't go on orgy party romps with Dominique Khan while out on business trips or soemthing? (It's common knowledge in America that this is what all French businessmen do of course).
