THE FORUMS

I met a girl on FB --- very cute but runs with the "punk/rocker/goth" type crowd. We decided to meet up at some small bar where her friends hang out. I went by myself but I was in a pretty good mood. Then, when I got there, she was a shy girl. She wasn't making much eye contact or anything. I started talking to some guy friend of hers about a bunch of computer games we both used to play. I heard the girl and her friend whispering and one of them said "He's freaking hot" and the other said "I know," so I think she just wasn't very confident.

We were outside on a pateo. Her friend invited her inside for a shot. I didn't want to follow around like a lost puppy. She gave me the good old "Watch my purse" line ---- I said "Nope. I'm not watching it" with a grin on my face. She went inside. About 20 seconds later I got up, walked inside, and told her I was heading out. She said "Whaaat? Really? Already?" --- I said "Yep, I just wanted to see if you were hot in person. You are. We'll do something this weekend. Your purse may have been stolen." and she gave me a flirty push -- we hugged and I bailed.

What is a good way to handle situations like that? Where you go meet a girl who is in her venue where she knows everyone. It was a small bar and it was kind of quiet so the energy was low. Should I have just went in physical and treated her like every other girl who I've had success with? Mind you I really only game in high energy clubs. I'm planning on inviting her out to a bar where I frequent on the weekends and where I have a good amount of social momentum built up.

It was a totally foreign situation to me so any insight would be appreciated.
