I'm looking for anybody that has some experience in this. Do you think it would be better to join the military, do my 4 years and then go to college, or vice versa? As I'm looking at it now, I'd be about 23-24 by the time I get out of the military, which would put me several years ahead of the other freshman, but also give me lots of life experience and free school. Anyone done both and have some feedback?

From what I saw, people that did the military and then went to college, took it more seriously and were more focused on their priorities. They also had more experience with life so they did better with girls.

Make sure that you go to college if you go that route. I've seen a lot of people that just kept doing what they were doing and didn't go to college. Dont' get married for more money like a lot of military guys do either.

I just graduated and can't find a job with 50k in debt to my name. I was broke as fuck my last 2 years of college, depressed off my ass, and sucked with girls. I wish I had gone the military route first. I am about to join, still deciding what branch.

Thanks both of you for the input.

@Courage- I don't see myself making a career out of the military, unless I REALLY love it and go special forces for years.

@uncharted- I wouldn't be worried about money, because the GI Bill will cover student loans as well (if I remember correctly). As far as branch, if you want to be infantry, go Marines. Education- Air Force, or Navy. thumbs up

College -> Military = You go in as an officer = you'll make more money / have superior rank

My personal philosophy: You need to step to every single girl like a fucking bomb. You need to have presence. You need to stand out, and not in a surface level way such as what you're wearing, but as who you are and the way in which you communicate. You need to be unforgettable. You need to create a sense of urgency, that you are now or never. You need to push and at the same time be completely willing to walk away. It is essential to disidentify with the ego, otherwise the inherent rejection associated with pickup will destroy you.

that's a horrible reason to want to become an officer. Anyone with this mentality shouldn't get through officer training (unfortunately this isn't the case and a lot of spoiled college brats get in thinking this). English degree =/= good leader.

Dafaq is up with this American glorification of the military? The military will help you be better with girls? Seriously? Go to college and both study and socialize your ass off.

The military will teach you discipline, self reliance, and how to be a man. Pussies are either toughened up or weeded out (well, unless your air force or a clerk, lol). Plus in the US they provide a good help with your future education. Lots of people can't afford school, their parents can't afford to send them to school, and they don't want to rack up a $50k debt. Military is a excellent option for these people.

Everyone I know in the military says avoid it if you can. Imagine being a servant to the man and having little say over how you live your life for the next 4 years or whatever it is

However if you really want to go to college and finances are tight, the military might be a good way.

I was in the Marines and now I'm a senior in college. I'm 25.

I say go for it. I don't think it will really do anything for your game but it's just a good experience anway.
