Very Minor day game sticking point/Opinions

What's up...I live in NYC and day game is awesome. One thing that is causing me a minor sticking point I want your guys opinions on though is ipods. Doesn't matter the venue subway,street,coffee shop, gym, anything.. so many girls and even myself if I'm not in pickup mode are always listening to ipods or music whatever and a lot of time it takes the verbal approach out unless I use some hand gesture to get her to stop. But even then you gotta pause your ipod or take off an earphone and that causes slight tension on the opening. I've used indirect openers like directions or things that wouldnt inconvinence it. It's not a huge deal but I was curious on your opinions or any tips because so many girls and people in general are always on their ipods in their own world and if i can find some good ideas i can totally expand my approaches. Any thoughts?

 walk up directly to them. Stop them. Tell them to take their headphones off.

then proceed as normal.

Thats prob the best bet. I thought about it when i was writing it and had a couple good ideas too i gotta try. Basically use them for humor like lip sync something while she has them on and after they come off say whatever like "so yes or no im in a rush whats ur answer?" or after she takes them off and we talk a little use her song list for convo ex i bet i can guess what u were listening to or whatever the fk.

if that situations obviosly throwing comment or anything casualy will not work cause a girl is in her own world. to get her attention i go much more direct (non verbally) to show that i have real reason for stopping her. she need snap out for a moment.

usually i use my hands to mimick taking earplugs out of ears or point at her ipod to pause it. gestures like that make her get that i want from her more than what's the time thing. then we talk.

but this still sounds like it's some kind of technique or some shit. it's not a "move". when i'm attracted to a girl i have no idea what the fuck i'm doing at the moment. i just follow guts. exactly like tim described "girl.. hot girl.. get hot girl" and go. this is it. you following your guts going crazy. no ipod can stop you. if she don't get it what you want you take her fucking earplugs yourself. been there done that

I put my hand on them shoulders or I just say normal like they never had headphones on and they simply off.
