Bringing out the garden hose and forcing her to leave may be an effective technique back home where your average ho can't run yapping to the police and complain "I had sex with a guy and now he refuses to pay me!" Things are different here. Cops are so corrupt that they'll find the slightest excuse to come knocking on a foreigner's door and demand that he pay "restitution" to the girl, since they know they'll be getting a slice of the pie. And we're not talking $100 anymore. Either that or I could be given 24 hours get the hell out of the country, which I know has happened to several expats in Africa following similar incidents. I know a prominent white man in this part of the world who, having lived in Africa for 20 years and done incredible things for his local community, one day had police come to his house and arrest him on the charge that he'd raped several young women. The ensuing trial was a complete farce and the guy had to spend 6 months in a local prison until diplomatic efforts to free him bore fruit. Rule of law just doesn't exist here and I'm not exaggerating about the possible repercussions of ticking off a well-connected prostitute. To top things off, the club she was working last night is controlled by the Lebanese mafia - as is virtually all of Kinshasa - and the last thing I need is for her to run her mouth off to those dudes.What do you think Jeffy or I would have done in this situation.
