Before i start off, id like to mention the assistant Randy and thank him for all his help this weekend. If it wasn't for him i would have lost a lot of momentum at times but he was constantly pushing me into sets and encouraging me. On Friday night in particular he stayed with me and directed me into a lot of sets. Thanks a lot man if you ever end up reading this, i know you weren't getting paid and you could have gone off and done you're own thing but you really made the weekend worth it for me. That's the cool thing about a bootcamp, not only is it a 1 to 3 instructor: student ratio (which is insane) but there are assistants there as well. In my case it was a 1:2 instructor student ratio and we had 3 assistants that switched between Alex and Jeffy but Randy stayed with Jeffy. So basically I had a 1:1 instructor: student ratio.
Jeffy explained at the free tour that motion gives you psychological emotion. eg. if youre moving at the club like dancing then you will feel good emotions. im sure this would sound stupid to guys but this was one of those concepts that i had read but i had never put into practice. When i go out a lot of the concepts vanish from my mind. but by having the guys there constantly showing them i can see them in action and get reminded. Randy was always in motion, and it doesnt take much. all he would do would clap his hands and dance a bit. I just copied his clapping and it worked. everytime he would come into my sight of vision and i wasnt moving he would be clapping and i would get reminded.
Friday night:
We meet at city life at 9.30. de-briefed. Alex yarned about how he got his lay last night which he called he his "pocahontas" which was a Maori girl. This was cool because he broke down how he did it and it proved his style worked. I was really excited to hear it.
I found my summary notes of Thursday night's debrief:
Jeffy:
- Persistence. I walk away too easy. The girl doesn’t make out or tells me no or turns away from me- these are not excuses to leave. These are YELLOW LIGHTS. Until she runs away is when I hit a red light.
- Pulling. Grab their hand and pull them. BABY STEPS. “I need some fresh air.” “No not out there, there are smokers.”
- Pace yourself. This is an esoteric concept. It doesn’t mean at the beginning of the night to chill out although it does mean that in a way. It’s more about psychologically knowing that there is 3 more hours left in the night or there is 1 hour left.
Assistant:
- You need to move in and out. Talk into their ear and then move back. I just stand there. I am square up to them but I’m standing still.
- Persistence
- Approach and escalate ugly girls so I get in the flow, so when I see a girl I want I'm already in that headspace.
- Jeffy said he did not want to hear "i ran out of things to say" but i was struggling and i asked Randy briefly what to do and this was his explanation. I run out of things to say= comes from a place of trying to impress at its core if you think about it. I think Jeffy later on said when you are trying to impress you CARE TOO MUCH. This was one of my sticking points and it stayed with me. I have to try fix this post bootcamp. They can point it out to me but i have to fix it. Im going to make it a focus.
Its funny because i KNOW you shouldn't try to impress and you should not give a fuck but i still give a fuck and i do try to impress. so these are concepts i have to focus on and work on over time.
Anyways,
Jeffy gives us his 7 escalation steps ladder. He said its old school but even him and Tyler use it sometimes when they're not doing good. Jeffy also mentions you actually NEED a couple of really bad sets at the start of a night to snap you into it.
- Jeffy teaches me the “hand of god”. Basically you make eye contact, stroke the back of your hair with your right hand and put it out in front of the girl as if she is then meant to shake it. If she doesn’t, you keep it there. Because it is a conditioned response to shake a hand drawn in front of you, people will eventually shake your hand. If the girl continues to not shake it you make a confused, urgent type of face (kind of hard to explain) and look at your hand and then back to her eyes. This was awesome and worked really well for me and i got a 3 makeouts out of it. now its my main opener
- At one stage Randy takes me outside for some reason. We go to the street. At this point I become a bitch. I started to get upset that the night isn’t going well. All the bad thoughts of “I’ve spent a year on this shit. I’ve paid $2K to come on this thing and I’m still not improving.” Randy then takes me back inside, I think maybe me, him and Jeff were maybe going to head somewhere. The reason i mention this is because this was pre 3 makeouts. Usually when i get in a bad headspace like this on a night i head home but because i was being directed into set after set it forced me out of it. Ive just got to be able to replicate this without an instructor there.
- I keep approaching. I’m not doing good sets. Jeffy tells me I’m not following the escalation ladder. “What’s the goal of tonight? Physical escalation. How far did you get with the ladder on that girl?” I give him a blank stare. “Exactly” he says and moves away from me. Looking back at Jeffy’s teaching style, it helped me a lot. He gave me the vibe that he wasn’t my friend and I was disappointing him. It was like social rejection and after he critiqued me throughout bootcamp a lot of the times he wouldn’t make eye contact with me as if he was subcommunicating “don’t stand next to me and back off the pressure and out”.
- After Jeffy said the above he also noticed i was "startling girls". this is when i would move in out of their vision and open them hard. this scared them. he said i should give them some warning like tapping their shoulder and then once they realise im there i can get up in their face. this was so small but so huge. and i wouldve never realised unless Jeffy told me because i always thought youve just got to get in their faces. Its the little fine tuning that you get on bootcamp which is really helpful.
- . Randy points out HBreddress. I go in. I’ve only got the escalation ladder in my mind- especially because I know Jeffy is right behind me. I pull her in, spin hug, put her arm over my shoulder and I get close to her. We talk. I bust her balls a bit. Can’t remember what I said sorry. I makeout. I think Randy or Jeffy tell me to isolate her. I say “I need some fresh air it’s way too crowded in here.” I take her outside to the doormen area. There’s not much room but we continue chatting I keep escalating. I then move her outside the venue to the street. She mentions her friends are at another bar and asks me if I want to come. I say sure because she pointed in the direction of the harbour and I think I could get her to a secluded area- haha i wasnt wanting to see her friends. We continue talking and walking to the next bar. We makeout more. There’s no beach just a big gated area. I start scanning. Looking back I could’ve easily moved her somewhere but I don’t persist. We makeout. I tell her to txt me later blah blah and exchange numbers. She heads out and i go bback to the bar.
Next memorable set would be a 3 set. I make eye contact with the girl furtherest away and hand of god. Pull her in. Start the ladder. She’s into it. She starts the tests right away though “That was very smooth. I liked that.” “How old are you?” “22.” She laughs. “Woah. Do you have any idea how old I am?” Turns out she was 31. Jeffy signals the makeout. We makeout. Jeffy and the police assistant move adjacent to the set to give me pointers. Randy takes the fat friend of the group- thanks. Jeffy tells me to motor boat. I look back at him to make sure I heard him correctly. He says motor boat again. I look at the girl and pull her in and motor boat her chest. She laughs but is put off by this. But probably not put off by the motor boat but my hesistating and lack of confidence to do it and feel comfortable. Law of state transference maybe. She tells me she justs wants to hang with her friends. I walk off to the bar next to Jeffy. Jeffy gets pissed. “What happened? Get back in there.” I stand next to him and try to explain what just happened He then puts down his beer and begins to start kicking at me. I run back to the set but she’s not keen. Randy then starts talking to her. Randy walks off. I move up to her. “You’re really starting to piss me off” she says. I flinch. “What? Why are you being like this” “You’re friend just told me, in a really round about way that he wants to sleep with my friend” This being the fat friend. Randy didn’t actually say this, he said “I really want to see a kiwi while I’m here in New Zealand” as in the flightless bird. She gets a really angry look on her face and says “You’re really starting to piss me off and if you don’t go you’re going to get very hurt”. I walk off. I’m a bit shock up, this is a weakness in my frame because why should I care about this? Jeffy asks me what happened. I explain. He tells me off and says “So did you just stand there and take that? What do you think Jeff Allen would have done? Huh? What do you reckon Jeff Allen would have done? Would Jeff Allen just walk off? You don’t take shit like that from other people ok.”
This is when it gets cool. I go to find other sets for a few seconds but im still shock up. I come back and the girls are gone. Jeffy says he went up to them and said something along the lines of “Why did you say that to my friend? That was very rude. You don’t talk to people like that. You’re done here. You and you friends are done here. Pack you’re shit and get the fuck out” The girl said to her friends “ok were going”. “yea dam right you’re leaving. You’re done. Pack you’re shit and go.” This is the frame I want. Jeffy later explains in this situation it was not meant to help you get the girls at all although this “Get the fuck out” routine can be used as push on girls you’re trying to get aroused (as I later use in my street pull). He just did this because he didn’t like the way girls treated us. “I don’t like it when people are mean to my students and assistants. It’s mean, they don’t have the social skills at the moment to deal with this. It’s like poking a stick at a little kid and I don’t like that. It makes me upset.” It felt pretty cool that Jeffy was like this because so far it had felt he had been a straight instructor to me but he really wanted the best for us.
We headed to the streets.
We walk past a girl sitting by herself. Randy stops me and directs me back to her. Randy does this multiple times during bootcamp. Its like he senses that I'm thinking “fuck I should have opened that girl”. I go up to her and ramble some stuff. I know I have to get physical. I sit down next to her. The seats wet. She is closed off to me. I try to get some where but I don’t. I walk off. Jeffy points me back. I have no idea how im going to do this. I sit back down and try again. I think I get her standing for a bit because I know I needed to get physical. She’s still closed off with her arms crossed. I walk off. Both Jeffy and Alex direct me back. Jeffy was pissed and looked like he was going to hit me if I walked any closer away. I head back but this time some dudes have moved next to her. They actually have some game and seem pretty laid back. I tell her to stand up and come with me. “Is this guy harassing you?” they start saying but I keep talking to move her. We move away but then she’s keeps backing off from me and has her arms closed. Im thinking this is fucked up, I am actually harassing this girl I think. Jeffy walks past on his cellphone and I think he said (correct me if im wrong jeffy) “He’s always a and he’s never going to get this…” and I snap and try to get physical and try to get her to uncross her arms. We keep holding eye contact. I remeber at this stage all that was going through my head was what Alex told me about my eyes and that I need to relax them. “Why are you so confident?” She kept repeating this shit test. Jeffy, standing in the distance hears this and yells “Because Jeffy makes him confident”. I do feel really confident. Obviously I have Alex and Jeffy and all the assistants standing in the background and I know that I cannot walk away. She keeps being really distant and acting uncomfortable. “Why are you being so uncomfortable?” I say, “I’m not uncomfortable, I don’t show emotion, I’m not an emotional person”. What the fuck was she on about? She moves back from my advances and backs up against a wall. She says something like “You are being really confident and it’s freaking me out so I want you to go away. But I kind of want you to stay.” She keeps saying she is uncomfortable so I say “Do you want me to go?” She doesn’t say anything, I run out of ideas and walk away. Jeffy is right there and tells me to go back and say “That’s it. You’re done. Pack your shit and go. You’re done in this town girl. Get the fuck out!” He later explains the next day that this is a push and in this situation I was all pull pull pull and all she needed was a little push. I did this and she began smiling. I was a bit freaked out at the time to be honest. I get her moving but she keeps testing and at one stage walks into a door area of a bank where a security guard was standing 5 metres away. I get a little bit deterred by this. Somehow I cant remeber I get her walking again with me. I can’t see the instructors anymore so its up to me now. No way to I want to disappoint them. My hotels 5 minutes away. I remember baby steps and I say were going to get food. The whole way there she has her arms crossed. I walk into the food shop next to my hotel but she stares at me confused and asks what I’m doing. I walk out and move her into my hotel lobby and we go into the elevator and get her into my room.
Immediately she goes to the window and looks out. Luckily I bought my laptop so I could turn on some music. I got a playlist I like to play when I’ve got girls in my room. She’s not turning around to face me so I start kissing her neck and she turns around and we makeout. But then the shit tests happen again: “Why are you so confident? Why did you come up to me?” I thought fuck ive got to qualify her. All that came to my head was “I think you’re quite and you seemed cool”. She said “That’s all I ever get, you’re cute”. I was a bit freaked out at the time to be honest. I get her moving but she keeps testing and at one stage walks into a door area of a bank where a security guard was standing 5 metres away. There were 4 students. So Jeffy took me on his team. There were also 3 assistants which was cool so there was always someone watching me.
Thursday night:
- I ask Jeffy on the way to the first bar what he does to unstifle. He says he approaches to get unstifled. He says you can walk into the middle of the bar and yell AY-YO! What will happen is everyone will look at you and you will realise that it is ok.
- Im doing pretty good on this night, especially at the first bar i felt i opened a lot of sets and got good momentum.
- Alex comments on my eyes. He says I’ve got good eye contact but it is very weird. He says I need to relax my eyes more. This actually stems from when i was younger I had an eye disorder. People know it as lazy eye but its actually technically different. As i got older the problem got less worse and i've been able to control my eyes so people rarely notice this unless im tired. Im always on some level anxious about my eyes. This is why i took a bootcamp because i wanted this type of problem to be pointed out to me. I then spent the rest of bootcamp trying to relax my eyes more. Sometimes i forgot and Alex kept reminding me which i was really thankful for.
- At the last bar i got some bad blowouts and started to chode and hang around Jeffy for a bit. He directs me into a few more sets but then I come back to him. He then tells me “let’s try a different game. 30…” This means he was playing the 30 second game. If I didnt open a set he was going to punch me. I run over to a Canadian girl just about to leave to the smokers deck. I stop her and pull her in and makeout. I then lead her to the dancefloor and makeout some more. I tell her she better be able to dance dirty. She starts dancing dirty. I then find out she’s here alone. I go for the pull “do you want to get out of here?” She says yea and is very excited. But then as we walk to the exit she starts saying no and she’s not going to leave with me. I then start trying to persuade her to come with me which Alex after shes gone points out is not the right thing to do. Jeffy looked pretty stoked when I was pulling her out of the bar. To be honest I felt pretty good that I was doing this on the first night and right in front of him and this girl was pretty hot. But as soon as he saw she wasn’t going to leave he got pissed and started signalling to grab her and pull her. I pussied out in doing this because I had never seen or heard about this before. He explains that I needed to pull her hard. It’s called “walking the dog”. You wouldn’t let your dog walk off track. You grab the girl at the wrist and pull her hard. Alex showed me a variant of this where he pulls her hard and then sometimes suddenly stops so she runs into him, and then he starts again.
- I can’t remember the words Jeffy used to describe this next point but it was key. He said I needed to be a douchebag drug dealer type of guy, because he said you can be that good guy but you’re not going to pull the girl and then at the end of the night it’s some guy whos aggressive than you who gets the girl. That’s the thing, Jeffy said he’s given up being a good guy. He has good intentions for the girl but he knows he has to be a thug to get her. And that’s why girls end up sleeping with a lot of bad guys. he even later points out my Canadian girl is with a thug guy now. Lesson learnt.
- Jeffy sends me back into sets. He gives me a couple of openers. I find out at hotseat that when Jeffy gives guys openers on bootcamp they always fuck it up because they say the opener and then don’t say anything and stand there expectingly. No. You say the openers and then brapbrapbrapbrap and be the million dollar mouthpiece. When you open girls the old school 90-10 rule still applies and you have to keep just barraging them with words.
- I’m pretty sure I tried to pull the Canadian chick in front of Jeffy again but no go. Alex comments that you’ve got to do the baby steps. You don’t just say in the middle of the dancefloor “hey let’s go to my place”. No. You say “hey let’s get a drink of water”, “hey let’s go outside” At this bar this was a smoker’s deck up top and the girl always stopped me at it saying "let’s just go out here". What you say here is “No there’s smoking out there I hate it, I just want to go downstairs briefly for a bit”, then it’s “hey let’s get some food” then you lead them back to yours.
- One point I took from Alex’s hotseat was that yea it is cool to do the 20 min pulls but a lot of the time if you just stay with the girl and relax she will get more aroused over time. Time is your ally. And a lot of the time, because at the end of the night she is so aroused by you, that when you go for the pull she is so compliant that she just follows you.
- We hit the streets. I use my favourite Tyler opener: “Yo! Stop! I know you, no no I know you” and then pull them in. Outside the bar the first I get the girl excited but her friends pull her away. The next few sets don’t go well but Jeffy corrects this by telling me to stop them by saying “wow o 1 second 1 second just 1 second 1 second” and this barrage of words will make them eventually stop. I then start stopping sets but then I start walking away from them. Jeffy tells me I need to persist more and stop being a pussy. He then tells me to use the "that's it. you're done. pack your shit, you're done. Girl you're done in this town. Pack your shit and get the fuck out". To be honest i was really shocked inside by this line. It was fucken crazy. I've never been that aggressive to a girl. The line didn't work for me but sure enough when Jeffy demoed it for us it worked amazingly. He later explained it works because it is a "push". And when you're picking up a girl usually you're all pull pull pull but when you add this push in it makes them very aroused by you
- We carry on opening street sets. In the end Randy the assistant comes into a set with me. The set is very un-recpetive. at one point im thinking this is where i usually drop out but randy keeps persisting and even though we dont get the set it shows me that you persist all the way until the red light which is them running away. Randy yelled out "Go kill yourselves" when they did which was fucken funny.
My main points from this night was to pull hard and persist in sets. Jeffy was pissed off that i walked away from sets to easily.
