Sooooo A while back I read about laughter therapy where you just laugh or immitatae your real laugh. I thought it was stupid for some reason. I considered myself such an authentic dude that forcing laughter just sounded dumb.

But more recently I was driving somewhere alone and I just thought why the hell not... I knew for sure that I wasnt doing the half hour session they recomended but I tried at for a good 5 minutes.

My results were phenominal that day everyone I interacted with either broke out in a smile and even a giggle at time. This is not the norm.

So Ive been doing this forced laughter thing and testing it and it works great. I even tried with a girl right next to me in the car. She asked what I was laughing at (shee was pretty damn moody) so I told her that it was this thing that was supposed to make you feel better and happy and I was trying to see if it worked. She immediately broke out of her funk.

I like this alot anyone else try this?

I don't have limitations because I choose to focus on what's possible, not on what supposedly can't be done...Ultimately to be the best you have to be hungrier, more focused, willing to die for the shit. I'm willing to go to that length because I'm disgusted by the experience I had in my first two decades of life and can't stand other people not having a rope to pull themselves up. I've been given more blessings than I ever asked for or deserved and have no reservations to go to any length to cultivate and offer the gifts I feel forming within myself on a daily basis in return for that."

Forcing me to laugh randomly for a few minutes gets me in state.

So how exactly do you do the exercise, you just force yourself to laugh for five minutes and ignore how non authentic and awkward it feels until the laugh becomes genuine or what?

Yeah this is good.

Also I just "lecture myself" in the car.  (Like tell myself what my sticking points are and what I need to focus on and general mindset stuff like that.)

And then do those random exercises like "Talk super enthusiastically about boring shit".

When I do these things I do well.

Also smiling in the mirror (as a variation of meditaiton...meditation while staring at myself into my own eyes, as weird as it sounds) does well too.

I like it.

REad about this in a book or what OP?  Do you have the link or title?

BTW I used to do this as an opener a lot.  Girls having a conversation in the vicinity...I just HA HA HA HA really loud randomly to a supposed joke that never happened and then go right in.  Sometimes the laughter itself "opens" (e.g. makes the girl look to me) and other times it just is a pop of energy that makes the open work even better and cuts any mental thought.

I read about it on this forum a while back actually. I dont have the link to it but it was in the middle of a convo about something else and someone mentioned that most people would have much better lives if they forced themselves to laugh for a half hour a day.

It stuck in my mind for some reason but it took me a good while to actually try it.

I tried it before work yesterday and my big boss was there she said to me 'glad to see your absolutely positive and have a great attitude!' I was just standing there lol. I really wasnt doing anything special... But you know how intuitive women are...

Im gonna try this.
One thing ive noticed is that sometimes Ill think of something funny in my head then laugh out loud. Im pretty sure this hasnt helped me because the girl will say what are you laughing at? Then ill either try to make something up or explain the personal joke in my head.

Maybe I should just work on saying random shit more and making it sound good to get around this
