Incidentally as a funny sidenote, I think I may actually have a gift for speaking because even in high school, when I was the least popular kid and had few friends, I remember going up in front of an audience for the first time at age 18 and just KILLING the presentation.  Kids were giving me high fives for the rest of the week and saying how funny and awesome it was -- really like this random experience that came out of nowhere.

It was like I was up on stage and out of nowhere I went "into state" for the first time in my life.  I was like "OMG what the fuck is happening to me up here??"  I think it may be that my brain doesn't produce enough neurotransmitters and the pressure of the talk was the first time in my life I felt "Normal".   Later when I did my first talks for RSD Papa and our old buddy Ben were shocked at how easy it was.  I was pretty surprised myself.  So maybe that's actually something I was born with, that makes up for all the damned problems and shortcomings I got as well.

I've kept working at it really hard, which is one of the big reasons I did the Free Tour:  to get up in front of audiences as often as possible.  I also do a lot of other things outside of speaking to improve on it, like watching all my talks repeatedly, taking vocal instruction, meditation, watching a lot of comedy (South Park, Colbert, etc), studying the showmanship of great performers, etc.

I think it's my intention to be a strong speaker that simultaneously makes my stuff really good but sometimes really shitty, because it either "clicks" or else I wind up "trying too hard" and carry all this nervous tension (ie: outcome dependence to do better than the previous talk).  Over time I've learned to accept when I'm not in the zone and just focus on delivering good content, as opposed to a charismatic delivery.  The other thing I think I do well is being willing to "polarize" the audience -- ie: say what I really believe and put out the type of material I personally think is cool, without the fear of making people freak out or hate it.   I think it's this willingness to "let the chips fall where they may" that draws the cult following, because if someone connects with it they connect on a deep level, as opposed to speakers who try to "be everything to everyone" and avoid offending the audience.

Anyway yeah it's my biggest hobby, along with game obviously.  Which I'm off to do right now. :)

That's the best part.

"I have people pulling me over thinking I'm a rock star, trying to take pictures of me and stuff like that"

I was like that too, my friends who have known me for 4+ years bring up quotes like this sometimes for a laugh at my expense lol

bragging = lame

LOL the guys in the videos do have deep issues.I don't think Tyler looks like a loser in the vid for sure,maybe like a 15 year old though..
Tyler,near 1 year ago when I first saw some vids of yours I was like "Who's that fuckin guy" haha.But with time it's like your awesome personality has grown on me...very charismatic.I want to ask you something:How exactly do you train your voice and what goals do you have for it?Is it just doing warm up singing exercises everyday?Because your voice in this old video and now sounds quite the same heard with simple ear.But at the same time its like a bit more life into it.That's like if you watch a movie,the voices are all different,but all trained at the same time and some untrained bad voice would sound terrible.So what's your voice routine?

Yup! You can already see there that he's thinking for himself and knowing how he is right now you can definitely see that it's the same guy. More experienced now.

I love the way his voice sounds in this video compared to how it sounds now. The way he talks has almost a unsureness about it like he doesnt really know whether or not he should be talking or not, at least thats the way I see it. If you put Tyler today up there you can just see him jumping up there and showing the whole room exactly how its done without even thinking twice about it.

 This thread really gave me a really creepy, cultish vibe. That said, awesome vid showing some classic Misstery and TD.

Very cool vid. I love to see growth like this. It shows that you can achieve anything you set out to do.
