What's up my brothers? It's been too long..

I'm taking some time 'off' from 'pick up' and just focusing on a few other things.. family, meditation, reflection.. re-connecting with my core.

I've been thinking about what i'm going to do after graduating... I'm 24 years old (I did an extra lap in highschool and an extra year in university.. at some level i'm glad I did it because I figured myself out HARDCORE) and time is passing me by quick timez. I'm graduating in April of 2011 and i'm thinking about my post-grad options.. My major is in Psychology and Sociology (which I find interesting as hell.. though I find MOST topics interesting).

Now.. I know you only live ONCE, and I want to enjoy my fucking youth. Mastering my dating life is definitely a goal of mine and it naturally makes sense to focus on it while you have biological leverage on your side.. but I am 24 years old now. Now i'm not sure whether to go start working on my 'career' or go en route as a flight attendant.

I was thinking how awesome it would be.. ultimately I remember Ryan saying the best way to get good at this is:
-hang with the best
-travel
-hit the gym

Now if I become a flight attendant.. I'm thinking I can travel, you have free access to many gyms in expensive hotels.. Hanging with the best I imagine I can do a bootcamp or four with the money I accumulate, and hang with alumni (which seems to be growing in every major city).

My long-term goals are kindof up in the air right now:
-human resources (One year post grad diploma)
-therapist <- (One year masters somewhere in Europe...)
However, even being a THERAPIST some professionals I interviewed told me to focus on it later on in life and live your life and get experiences and do inner work yourself.

My ULTIMATE long-term goal is to be an Entrepeneur kindof like Eben Pagan doing Information Products.. I'm a fucking nerd and love learning, and I imagine it will be the path to go. I want to be my OWN boss and have an INTERNET BUSINESS. It maybe worth it to start RIGHT AWAY on this..

Mind you i haven't read: 4 hour work week, Ayn Rand (that much), or those other books.

I guess to clarify it's a two fold question:
1. long-term knowing my goals, is being a flight attendant the right move? I am 24 years old now.. My options would be:
-flight attendant for a year or two (that is what my friend recommended as a maximum) I can save SOME money this way.
-post graduate diploma around where I live.. so i'm not moving, and have the same anchors..
-I could also a post grad diploma in Project management or Marketing management so It helps with business later on.
-to go to graduate school right away (accumulate debt which I want to avoid to be honest..) but party in europe for a year.
-find a job for a while to save money for grad. school then go..
-long-term goal is to be a business owner -> I could start working on an Internet business right away, but I would need cash for that. (Fingerman recommended becoming a bartender, and investing all of it in Internet Marketing)
2. Has anybody had any experience being a flight attendant or heard? I know some of you have fucked flight attendants.. one of my hot female friends became one.. creeping her facebook you notice that her co-workers are hot too..

What do y'all think?

I say go for it and see where it leads you...

The only focus you should have is "Why?", what is your intention of all this. Once you know that an walk you're path different possibilities and opportunities will open up. On paper what you're planning sounds like alot of interesting experiences will come up and since you aren't sure about where you want to head it'll unfold as you continue moving forward. I know in my life I ended up in acting school, dropped alot of money and in the end basically have almost zero focus on acting. However, it's the experiences of that whole year that lead me to where I am now. So longs you have an interest or passion for something, I say explore it because you never know what you'll learn and since you actually enjoy it, you'll be able to actually enjoy the process.

My perception of male flight attendants is that they are all fagots.  It's a pretty feminine pursuit for a young man. That's just my perception, not trying to be condescending.

If you want to travel the world and bang chicks you should look at working on a cruise ship! Way more hot girls because of all the dancers and show girls, you'll get more leisure time than you would as a flight attendant, and the destinations are all nice travel spots.  If you are flight attendant you might get stuck on the Pittsburgh to Des Moines schedule; whereas a cruise ship would be more like Miami to Cancun to Jamaica to Aruba and back to Miami.

Appreciate the response Distant Light. I recently realized I was thinking way too long-term, and the whole 'staircase analogy' really applies here. Ever step you take, the next one lights up.. but only one at a time.

Trig:
TBH that was one of the reasons stopping me.. it's considered a feminine occupation. I don't care really, i'm not 'there' yet.  Hmmm.... It is only for a year or so I would do it, it's not going to be a longterm career... hehe.

I've heard cruise ships conditions are much worse. As in you will be stuck in the SMALLEST accomodations with like four people, and work insane hours. I have heard this from two people who have worked on cruise ships.. Unless you have heard otherwise ?

do it!  you never know if it is worth it unless you dive in the pits of fire and go for it.  I moved to LA from NJ and never been there once in my life let along the fact I didn't know a single person and no job lined up.  I quit my secure job with a pharmatucal company to venture into something that I wanted to try.  I've been there for 5 years and don't regret a single decision.  it's come with highs and lows but it's been completely worth it as i am completely confident in my ability to adapt quickly to whatever environment I am in due to taking chances.

Everybody I know that has worked a cruise ship was worked like a dog.  they had fun but they were worked like slaves.  But, i only know about 3 people who have done the cruise ship thing so maybe it was coincidence

Its a tough life. The charm of travelling everyday is the bold headline, the reporting two hours before flight time, the unruly passengers and the cleaning up of washrooms, constant standing up and touch and go lifestyle is the fine print. Also most male flight attendents are gay, which has nothing really to do with anything but shows you the nature of the job. Flight attendant's also tend to become a bit loopy after years of travelling, they get used to disposable meals, disposable relationships and their always in transit lifestyle and kinda have this weird ADHD thing which you might have noticed if you've dated stewardesses (usually longhaul or international).

Having said that tho, its a good job to have on your resume for future customer relationship jobs or interpersonal career opportunities so its your call really.

Just make sure before you do it to do some research and ask some Flight Attendants what their opinions are. Don't worry man by the time I get out the military I'll be a 23 yr old freshman and my sister will be a sophore or junior in college. But she will have hot ass friends so thats a plus.

Really, it comes down to your personal goals.  You can be the one straight flight attendant in a sea of gay ones.  Who cares.  Will you have access to female flight attendants?  Sure.  But if you are an uncalibrated oaph about it, word will get out and you will go dry and never get laid.  If you are smooth, you'll get laid in every town.  It has nothing to do with your chosen profession.

Ultimately, you will still have to answer to the inner urge towards entrepreneurship.

I say, you should start your entrepreneurship education early.  Start a business now.  Anything, just do it.  You'll see how hard it is.  And if you are truly an entrepreneur, you will try again and again until you hit the money.  Most entrepreneurs do not make it.  But true entrepreneurs just say to hell with it, and go for it anyways.

That's my advice.  Try new things, until the right one comes up, then when you find it, stick with it and don't give up.  That's living with depth.

Cruise ships are like slave labor. I know for a fact.
