WHY DO I KEEP GETTING IN THE ZONE IN THIS SITUATION??1
Probably you are too tired to process mental filters, which frees you up to express youself in different contexts where you otherwise would have been more inside your head.

It swept space clean and left nothing but the joy of an unobstructed effort. Only a faint echo within the sounds spoke of that from which the music had escaped, but spoke in laughing astonishment at the discovery that there was no ugliness or pain, and there never had had to be. It was the song of an immense deliverance." -Atlas Shrugged

+1Your too tired so, your mentality is nonchalant about everything. I find if I have an all nighter out with the clubs, random hook ups, fling, bathroom pull with a SMOKE SHOW before work, i feel like trash sleeping whereas, if I just don't sleep at all, I am fine.

It is not really what they say.
Sleep deprivation is a well known phenomenon. Sleep derpivation basically leads to a huge release of neurotransmitters (dopamine , serotonine..) which make you feel awesome (also hornier), more awake, more confident, happier, euphoric... Some people even think that sleep deprivation could help cure depression. Basically sleep deprivation Is very similar to Cocaine or amphetamines, in the effect you get..(even though lighter).
Sleep deprivation is basically the cheapest to get effects of drugs.. (but like with drugs, after the high, you have the coming down..)

JohnG is also correct, but from what I've heard, your increase in energy comes more from your circadian rhythms. Our caveman ancestors generally slept twice a day rather than once a day, and that's why you get tired at 2 or 3 PM for seemingly no reason; our bodies are designed to fall asleep at around that time, and then probably to stay up until 2 or 3 AM before falling asleep again. Your regular sleep pattern has a lot more to do with it too. To put it simply, the reason why you have more energy for the first half of the day is because your body is used to waking up at that time (which is why if you wake up every day at 8 AM and then one day you set your alarm for 10, you might still wake up at around 8 and find yourself unable to go back to sleep, and then crash later), and you feel "in state" because the chemical in your body that makes you sleepy right after you wake up (the reason why if you only get 5 hours of sleep in a night it's super difficult to get out of bed but once you start moving you're fine) isn't acting upon you and making you drowsy for the first few hours of the day.
In order to feel this way naturally? Get enough sleep (obviously that's the biggest one), wake up earlier, eat some carbs (carbs give you energy and help you start your morning; try a protein drink and eggs for breakfast and see how you feel that day), go to the gym, talk to people in the morning to get that social part of your brain working.

for me it's kinda different. if i don't get sleep, i'll become super introverted and i won't talk to people. and i will have trouble responding properly to tooling or tests. there was once i went out and was really sleepy, and this dude out of no where grabs my hat and asks me what it's for. normally i'll come up with a super amog-ing comeback. but that night i just stared at him and ignored, then i proceeded to grab my hat off his head. it was super chode. plus he went on to ask me whether it was to hide my number-4 shaved head, and i said no and that i could grow hair (cuz im in the army, and usually recruits are required to shave) so what i meant was that I was no longer a recruit and thus was allowed to keep a longer cut, but it came out wrong. and he tooled me by saying that "of course everyone can grow hair". everyone laughed, but i laughed it off awkwardly and turned away. again, super chode. so i don't know. i tend to be quicker, wittier and more "in state" when i get enough sleep.
