Tyler hit it on the head as far as I am concerned.  Read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.  I'd try to give you some comforting words myself, but why bother when Tolle says it better than I ever could.

I noticed in the past when I broke up with a girl I allowed myself to drink and drug and be a loser. I tied my self worth to a women. It took me a long time to realize that I am the hero of my life.

So you can make a decision... get your ass to the gym and be productive or you can not.

It is as simple as that... the world does not owe you anything. You owe yourself the world. It is an amazing place filled with amazing people that want you in your life. Now go after what you want.

Find your motivation..

that thing I mentioned about directing your focus... you can use that immediately. Just don't abuse it like a drug fiend. You'll probably hit 'satori' a few times. But that isn't the holy grail either.

I seriously recommend looking into Tolle AFTER seeing through the heart of the delusion causing you pain. Otherwise you'll be swatting at the symptoms without killing the bug. Seriously...

I find it funny how many point to Tolle who of course can help but, you must be in the right state of mind to actually work from that point. Tony Robbins, Dan MIllman, Joel Osteen, among a variety of others can help. If pulling is your goal, what happens when you attain it or aquire a SMOKE SHOW? If this is what life is all about, I would lose my mind. Its a constant desire of craving followed by suffering even after you obtain your goals or you fail to meet the mark. These self help gurus are pointers. The same is said for pick up. It isn't the be end all to life. It is what it is. If your confidence is at a low, you are taking the experiences personally, and playing the role of "victim." How is that working out for you? Make changes OP. Satori and or enlightenment wont come in the form of women or any tangible or intangible factor. I assure you, all the stars can align, you could hit the jackpot, have that SMOKE SHOW or multiple, all the money in the world, and I assure you, you will still suffer or find something you are unhappy about. WHat is the answer? Bruce Lee said, "Immortality is in living a life worth remembering." Go for what you want. Yes, live in the moment but, stop taking the outcomes and events personally. Things just are. Accept what is and change what you can.

It seems like ninja08 and ambiguity are both saying what Tolle says (although not saying it quite as well in my opinion) and then discouraging you from reading Tolle.  I don't get it.  In any case, my highest recommendation is still for "The Power of Now", or the video I posted above if it doesn't give you a headache.  I think for a depressed state and for someone unfamiliar with his stuff  "The Power of Now" is better than his other books like "A New Earth", and better than Tony Robbins or anyone else I know, at least for this particular situation, but that's just from my personal experience.

There is no separation between human experience and everything else. Seeing this for yourself is only possible by realizing there is no self. Just everything that is. The deeper I go into the now, the less I find there is to say. There is no escaping whats actuality. There is only this delusion of the idea of self that creates this 'separation' cognitively.

Fuck sarging. Fuck lots of wealth. Fuck being the 'best' at anything. Fuck being remembered. There isn't anything anyone can do to be fulfilled. There isn't anything you can attain either. There is just being. Having the clarity to see the flow of life happening and realizing them 'self' as one with that flow. Then anything that is done is done for its doing. Like taking a walk, knowing there is a destination, however the destination is meaningless. Its just a destination. There is only the step being taken that exists. There is just the step. There does not have to be a meaning to it. Like the flow of a river does not necessarily have a meaning. It just happens. Being with the flow is where you'll find your fulfillment.
