 Hey lads.

Tolle says 'watch the thinker' but I wouldnt mind some clarification on how to actually do this.. seems a bit vague to me.
He also says put attention into the now (amirite?) when I do this I dont really feel empowered like he describes.. i feel basically the same just not thinking about the past.

I must have listened to a new earth 10 times now, but I still cant figure out how to achieve that stillness and empowerment and get rid (or atleast reduce) my ego..

Will it actually help my game if I 'get it'?

There is nothing you can do... Keep meditating and one day you might find you've already got it.

The "thinker"- is thinking according to your mood and past conditioning.
If when you where young you got feedback that you where a chode/cool/funny/smart- thats the frame you gonna think through=the ego.
Understand that its not YOU, its just a role that YOU play. When the "thinker" thinks- Its just a role that YOU play.
Roles change, YOU stay the same.

Therefore, you can choose what role you wanna play & you can choose what you wanna be like without Identifing (making it part of YOU) with your thoughts, roles & mental position.
Thats Dis-Identification.

"Game terms" = YOU give yourself premision to be cool.

In the beginning of the book he says that not everybody is ready to take this step.  If you've listened to the book 10 times and you're still looking for that one magic thing to DO that will make everything fall into place, perhaps you're just not ready.  The whole idea is to be, not do.

So..... I mean.... thats kind of difficult to wrap my head around.

If there is nothing I can do, then their is basically no point in me having read the book? Because nothing can be done either way?

There is nothing to wrap your head around. The more you think about it, the less you get it. The book is a signpost, but a signpost is not the actual 'thing' it points to. Just like money has no real value, it's just paper. Don't confuse the money with wealth, the menu with the food or the map with the territory.

Yes, I know it confusing as hell to the mind. The only time you can see this it RIGHT NOW.

Walk backwards in a crowded area for 10 minutes (keep friend around for supervision), don't encourage him to be nice, just tell him not to let you die. Notice your different thoughts and emotions while doing this exercise. (taken from ozzies bootcamp)

Tolle will make more sense after this

man just relax..

try to look at your thoughts understand you are not your thoughts you are something beind them...

feel your body ...great quote from tolle to feel your inner body is "how can i know my hand is there without touching it?"
do it to all the parts in your body...

hear the silence, hear the birds and the silence after their noises...

feel your breath coming into your body...

i hope it will help a little bit..but dont worry its all good you'll see it when you'll be ready!
