I literaly made a last minute decision to attend the Hotseat program in Chicago. I just completed bootcamp with Nathan a couple weeks ago and felt like a new person, I debated whether going to the Hotseat would help me. One thing on program that helped me was seeing not only myself on film, but to see Nathan interact in field to actually see what it looks like. This along with positive reviews from Alumni with other Hotseat events tied in with a window of free time promted me to attend.
What I took the most from Hotseat was the subtlties. After watching video after video, not only did I see what made the interaction sucessful, I saw thing not to do where you lost the interaction. The best subtlty I picked up in watching the videos is how to stay in a solid frame and plow through when she is testing you. I thought Brad's video outside the liquor store where he didn't have the best tonality to start off and was able to recover the set implanted a reference point in my head that if I even start off bad, don't give up and keep my composure because it can turn out for the good. I also liked Jeffy's video with the flute player. The persistance in this video helped me out later in the evening. I liked Tyler's explanations on value vs. qualification, conservative vs. fun and buyer vs. seller.
Near the end of the Hotseat program, we split into groups and conducted some improv, storytelling, tonality, and composure exercises. I feel these are always helpful. The best exercise was the last one when everyone else in the group was yelling and simulating homosexual manuvers right in front of me while I was trying to tell a story with strong vocal projection/tonality. I felt this exercise was the best since it strengthened me to stay present with what I was saying and not be outcome dependent.
The program went past the allotted time. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of information I had to process to sink in. Afterwards, I felt the same like 2 weeks previous in Austin after the seminar portion on Day 2. I thought, "Is all this really going to help me?" Time to hit the field to find out.
A couple others from the seminar and myself went out to a club not far from where the Hotseat took place. This place was a 3-level club. It was about 12:30 when we got there. I started off getting warmed up, but I was getting blown out quite a bit. I kept at it. I needed to do more intent. I was looking for the outdoor patio/smoking area. I had never been to the club before wasn't sure where it was. I went on an adventure to find it. On the first floor, I noticed 3 glass doors to the back. One of them was open. I thought to myself that must be it. The middle door was open but the first and last were closed. I went to the first door to go out and two people walked up at the same time. I thought they were out there smoking so I let them in and all of a sudden a bouncer swooped in and told me I had to leave. I apparently opened the door to the outside and let some people in. One hour in, I was kicked out of the bar and did not know where else to go. As a result of this unfortunate event, I had the fury in me. I started walking north. I crossed the street and noticed 2 girls walking towards me. One was hot, the other was less than to be desired. I thought, perfect, ask them where is the cool bar around here. I executed the open perfectly. Watching the videos, I noticed a subtle point to open that I used here. I simply said, "Hey, where are the cool bars around here?" They said they weren't from around here and found out they were from the state capital.
The finer points I saw in the Hotseat came natural in this set. After a couple exchanges, I noticed they were not in a good mood (ended up being they had a shitty time at the last bar). I could tell it was not me, but something else. I strongly told them not to be sad and it was time for a group hug. I went right in and clawed the two for a hug I could feel the strong frame I saw in the videos. The hot one was super receptive and the fatty wasn't. At this point, I knew I wanted the hot one and I wasn't going to take no for an answer from the fatty on the hug. I kept being persistent by telling her it was for her own good. Finally, she opened up at the bare minimum level for the hug. I feel I won the approval from the fatty friend at this point. We all chatted for a bit and the hot one was not feeling good. I grabbed her to sit down next to me on a small ledge to a building right there. This mini-lead was another subtlty I saw in the videos. While sitting down, I was telling her how I like she is so chill and adorable and was appreciative for me saying it. At first, I thought she may be too drunk, but it ended up being a shot of Tequila she just took that was fucking with her. I had the hot girl next to me on the ledge when I was telling the story on what just happened to me when a random guy comes into my set. This guy reminded me of the video of the Tyler talking to the guy with girl in VIP and blew him out, but more of a white thugish version. At first, this guy was OK. I had the hot one locked sitting on the ledge, he was an instant wing to occupy the fatty. While the other dude was talking to the fatty, I used this opportunity to tell her things I like about her and went in for the makeout and got it easily. I could tell this guy was on the downfall, since he was inviting us to his hotel room to drink booze and smoke weed. A short time after that, his thugish language came out referred to the fatty in a statement with the word bitch in it. The girls were flipping out on him. This guy did not hold his composure well and was reactive. The hot one got up from the ledge and told him to get the fuck out of there or he would kick his ass. The Billy Chode ran off. Now I was isolated with the 2 girls again. I got tested right away why I didn't stand up. I told them I knew they would be able to handle it, and if there were any problems that came up, I would bring in the F-16 fighters in to destroy him. I then asked where are they headed, they said to their room which was less than a block away. I told them I am walking them to their room so no more weirdos come up to them. At this point, they made the reference they don't know me. I told the fatty, did I call you a bitch..no. I told the two girls I just hugged them to brighten your night, and told them I thought they were cool. I could tell they were cool with me coming after delivering that statement. I took the road to convey value instead of qualification here and it paid off. They said I could walk them back, but no come in. I wasn't stupid. I knew I would come in.
We walked the short distance back to their room and got to the door. The fatty said to me I guess you can come up. Great. I went up to the room and I could tell these girls wanted to have fun. At first, the hot one said are we all going to get it on. This point of the night, I wasn't so congruent. I did not want to hook up with the fatty, even if it meant 3-some. I kind of gave a weak Yes answer while I took room up on the hottie's bed. The fatty asked me if she could take a picture of me naked and send to a friend. I told her only if I could cover my face. She backed down and didn't take the photo. The hot girl then was testing me if I was going to hook up with her friend. I took a page out of Alex's playbook and Ray Charles'd her by completely ignoring her comment and kept talking about my own stuff. She brought this up 2 or 3 more times and I continually ignored it. No way, no shape, no how was I going to hook up with her. Not long later, the fatty wanted to talk to my girl away from me. She knew what was up. Then the fatty wanted to go to the vending machine and I gave her a couple dollars for a water. When she left, I pulled the girl into me and things got wild. I pulled her panties aside (she was wearing a skirt) and started to eat her out. Man, that was tasty. I only got a couple minutes isolation before the friend came back. I found out earlier this girl was a massage therapist and told her we should swap massages. This became reality. I got an awesome massage from a fucking hot woman! It was so on between us, the fatty said she was going out to her car to sleep.
I have not been so lovestruck in a long time. I wanted this girl so bad. However, I was running into objection issues. I would eat her out and then she would say we should stop. I would back off, turn her on, finger her, wash, rinse, repeat. When I look back afterwards, I should have mixed it up more than what I was doing. I was coming in at the same angle over and over by turning her on in different ways. I tried to inject some qualification, but her issue was she just met me. After all of this, I finally wised up and told her to flip around on her stomach. She practically gasped and told me that was her favorite position. I was trying to jam it in from behind (because I wanted her so bad) when I did something that someone could perceive as embarrasing. I was done. No lay. All the hard work, I finally found what worked with her, and ehh...
The Hotseat was fucking awesome! I applied the skills immediately for results. Think of this program like trying to break the 4-minute mile barrier. Once you can see that it can be done, start to believe you can do it as well. The videos showed me this kind of clarity. Highly recommended.
