Lol. I went out last night cold approaching at a festival. I was with a few friends
and aquaintances, many of which are you can say "harder" or "tougher" than average.
They generally aren't very fearful or shaky, they don't worry that much, sometimes to
the point of not thinking before they act.  You never see them weak or anxious.

So I was walking around with them, just chilling out and then I just started opening
sets, and my boys were silent, for the first time I saw fear in their eyes. Remember
when I said that some of them are "tough" or w/e? Thats kind of an understatement.
Many of them are in situations where cold approaching would seem tame by comparsion...

Well...these guys were quiet and scared, just watching me talk to chicks. This was funny to
me, becasue their "old school" uncles and shit have no problem approaching random
girls. I hang out with their uncles and some of them who have dads, and those guys usually
have no issues with approaching chicks (and in the most tacky and cheesy way you can
imagine) things like "hey girl, you look good, I want to get to know you" and then following the
girl around up and down the block and pestering her for sex/phone number.

But this new generation is fucking SCARED TO DEATH!

I guess it really does take balls to cold approach.

At this point if I make eye contact with a girl it takes more balls not to approach. But if she haven't see me yet, then yes it can get hard if you ask the should I question, which is like the worse question ever when you start.

Lol. True.

Can't really go into detail. However, the stuff they do carries far greater chance of physical harm or real lasting damage to themselves than does appraoching a chick.
Some of them are into thing$ that actually involve girl$, (use your imagination) but they usually just take advantage of people they already know. Never cold approach.

Goddamn hippy. Actually my life is swinging back that way again as I rediscover who I was in my 20's. I've decided to take up the offer made by the Danish backpacker I met last Friday and visit the alternative vegetarian restaurant she works at. They have a very interesting philosophy, you pay what you think the meal was worth. Totally my kind of environment. I expect to meet down-and-outers, backpackers, old hippies, cheapskates, religious fanatics, stoners, unemployed people and all sorts. Could be a blast, and certainly better than hanging about with neurotic suburban kids.

I might even dig out the guitar and play a free gig there occasionally. They're looking for musicians, cooks and other assorted volunteers.

I almost had to fight a pitbull mix and another dog a week or 2 ago, because it almost attacked my Mom and I.

Cold approaching is still hard sometimes.  Some days it's easier than others.

Yeah, technology has its disadvantages sometimes.

But that's no excuse....people are always adapting. There will always be people at all ends of the totem poll.

Yeah its definitely the tech that made me an unsocializing coward. Well actually I chose to be like that really. But it was only in the early 00's that I stayed inside, when the net was becoming mainstream.
