Well on one hand, if you can find the best clubs in a big city the hottest girls don't look much different from the poster models.
On the other hand, yeah, having high standards can be tough. I'll still walk into venues and if there's one or two girls that look like models and the rest are just fuckable then I devote all my attention to them, even though there's 5 or 10 other girls I'd have sex with. Also, if I'm in a shity club/bar, sometimes there's not a single girl I want.
I guess my only advice for now is to try to find bars/clubs that attract really hot girls.

Yes, I used to have way too high of standards with girl's looks, and that hindered my game and sexual activity. I used to only flirt (or show interest) with girls who were the hottest, the dime pieces. IMO the 8's and 9's... I wouldnt settle for a girl who was average looking.
That's all changed though, lately i've been rewiring my brain so that I am not desperate per se, but my standards are much lower and much more favorable for me getting laid. A little secret the helped this is I quit masturbating 1-3x a day, and instead I go at least a full week without it. how would having high-standards fuck you over? I suppose you might lose the desire to approach, but if you're out to meet women in the first place - you wouldn't be judging them all on looks, you would be trying to build your skillset and looks would be irrelevant (to some degree.)

to add to what I was trying to say with the bashar point... find the chicks that ARE up to your standards and DO turn you on, and pursue those. Part of this game is about getting what you want, and if you're saying some girls aren't up to your standards, the answer is simple - go for the ones that are.
