How to hold a fair pickup contest.
this is cool an great, but if u do this ur probably going to become outcome dependent. Once that happens u can say bye-bye to every hottie. Unless ur at that level where u just dont feel that anymore.

It might give people an added incentive to be outcome dependant, but you could also look at it like it's a good thing for working on your outcome dependance. It probably won't be a big deal to the best PUAs.
I agree it might not be useful to most community guys to directly compete, but what is useful is being able to know the results of contests among the subset of guys who do want to compete. If all the top ranked guys use method X and method Y, and no one good uses methods Z, then you'd have some solid evidence about what works, which is helpful to everyone. You can view pickup contests as just a way to give people incentives to collect accurate measurements of what works.

man, don't limit yourself with RSD "rules" (which they probably don't intend for you to do in the first place).
If you want to compete at picking up women for fun, do it!
Yeah, I brought the idea up of having a pickup competition, but that thread has been locked up. Nice to see the idea here. ha.
There's no possibility of a "serious" pickup competition, but you can do them to screw around and have fun. Like "Who was the biggest pimp tonight?" or whatever, and have funny ball busting debates about it.
The reason is that guys have different goals. Some want ONS with girls who have tight bodies, others want it with girls who have a pretty face, others want it with a girl who they feel emotional chemistry and an "energy match" with. Dudes rarely agree on which girls are hot and which aren't, because they have different "pheremone" matches as a result of their genetics -- we tend to feel attraction towards girls who we'd produce the best babies with, which is why sometimes you have cases where you pull a 7 and you can't stop fucking her over and over, but you pull a 9 and you're quickly bored.
Then you have the issue that some people are in it to avoid being blown out, whereas others don't mind "polarizing" people and just being themselves, so that the girls who aren't naturally into them will be quickly screened out, and the girls who they have natural chemistry with will be more attracted since the dude isn't comprimising himself (I definitely tend to lean towards the latter -- but for years I used to be the former).
So yeah, it's not something you can really be serious about, but just something you can do to have fun -- as long as you're not an idiot who really takes it seriously, makes an identity out of it, etc.

To make it more serious: you can do it for money.
I used to bet with my buddies. We'd pick a girl and we'd each put money in a pool, whoever fucks her first wins the pool. Definately not the most "moral" thing to do, but whatever.
It can end badly, though.. There was one guy who confessed the bet to the girl, to befriend her.. when he saw that I was going to win. It resulted in me getting bitched at in an unbelievable fashion.
..Good times.

Tyler, you're right that the contest assumes that having a higher "batting average" than someone else makes you a better PUA. Given any particular girl, the contest rewards you for having a high probability of picking up that specific girl. So guys that still get laid a lot but have to approach tons of girls to get a few hits will be discriminated against. Personally I think that's OK, because in my opinion "batting average" (with high quality girls) is the best simple measure of a pickup artist.
Regarding some guys having different goals: the contest format definitely punishes you if you can only game your "type" of girl, or if you can't game people who you don't feel a connection with, but I think that's also reasonable. I completely agree. Being the best is about being able to have any one you want (to what ever extent you want). But you could make the final a full F close, or you could make it a required threesome to score points, or a kiss close (in which case even I have a high batting average). It would have to be up to the two guys competeing, for what the required result is. But a score from one night, in one town can not be compared with a score from another night, or another town. It's pretty hard, and really subjective. It would also be to easy to manipulate the outcome when choosing the point totals for the girls (always even value when your not the chooser, then pick the one with the highest value when you are the chooser). It seems like a fun game, but it is totaly unreliable. Plus if your getting laid... Who Cares?
Getting numbers is super easy. The girl can give you her number even if she was no intention of meeting you again.

What I will present is the fairest way that I know of to hold a pickup competition. It's also the most accurate way that I know of, in that the correlation would be very high between people who are good at these contests and people who are good at pickup. If anyone has ideas for improvement, please post them.
Overall contest structure
GuyA and GuyB agree beforehand on how many rounds they will play (5 or 7 might be common). They then play each round consecutively.
Structure of each round
Each guy picks one girl. Neither guy knows which of the two selected girls will end up as his target. For the first round they flip a coin to see who will be the "divider." The other guy is the "chooser." In later rounds they alternate roles. The divider splits 100 points between the two girls any way he wants to. The chooser picks which target is assigned to which guy. If you #close (*) the girl assigned to you, you win the # of points that was associated with her. "Success" with girls who haven't been assigned to you result in no points for you. Each round ends either when both guys agree that it has ended, or after a specific number of minutes when at least one guy wants it to end.
Judging/verifying success in each round
If can verify your #close to your opponent's satisfaction, you win all points that were allocated to that girl.
How do you verify a number to your opponent if he didn't see you #-close? One way is to go find your opponent, return with him to the girl, and start talking to her in a way that would only make sense if she had given you her # (example: "Hey I accidentally put a percent sign in for the last digit of your number", "I'm only going to call you if ___", etc).
Another way is for the opponent (not the guy who closed her) to call the girl while she's in view. Lots of other options. Unless your opponent is being very shady or you're bad at proving things, he should accept your #close in most cases.
Determining the contest winner
When the contest ends and after everone presents whatever evidence they have, the total points from all selected girls that each guy "succeeded" with are added up. Highest point total wins the contest. Once a girl has been assigned to you, you can recieve points for her up until the end of the contest (so you can loop back to girls from earlier rounds if you didn't close them in earlier rounds).
Obviously, adding judges will make it easier to resolve any disputes. If there was a judge he wouldn't even have to watch the sets, he could just evaluate evidence. People could call him over immediately after they #close. For instance "hey dude, this girl's number is one number away from yours..", then watch her reaction, etc.
(*) #closing was chosen as the success criteria for simplicity, but obviously you can make the criteria more difficult. I think d2ing would correlate much better with true pickup skill, but contests could take weeks.
Appendix: reasons why this contest format is good
-The divider/chooser aspect of the contests is the key. The way that points are distributed and sets are chosen makes it so that at the start of each round, no player should have an advantage just because of the set he is assigned to.
-Sucess criteria is binary and easy to judge, reducing the impact of bias or cheating.
