The nonverbal thing I was working on was body-rocking. I need to work on doing that early in the conversation to hook better. However, the place was so crowded that I kept bumping people when I tried doing that.
Overall, my shit was just not sticking. I think my vibe was off. I felt a bit awkward in general, and I'm sure it rubbed off. I'm not sure how I could fix that in real time, any ideas?
Anyway, the approaches:
I opened a 3set with "you guys are adorable...actually I had to say that, there's a new law that the governor just signed saying that guys have to say that to girls...so actually if you see a guy looking at you and not doing that, let me know and we'll arrest them....you rough your handcuffs right?"
One girl played along with the opener, the others just stood there. I introduced myself and spun the first girl. I tried the 2nd and 3rd but they did not want to spin. I tell them that they're not making the dance team, and how my wing and I are a rap group looking for booty dancers, so they're not going to be famous. She played along a bit. Then they started talking about random dance moves. I was shut off from the conversation at this point and eventually ejected.
I opened with horse girl 4 times. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't hit at all. One girl just said that it's not her and left after the opener. Another played along a bit but also left after the opener.
Another said after the bit about how I was apologizing to the horse girl for making fun of her whether I'd get her a horse. I told her "if you behave...I can tell you're having a ahrd time trying to control yourself, but if you don't grab my ass in the first 20 min, I'll get you a pony". We played with that a bit then a guy came in to talk to her, I body rocked out, then he left and she went to talk to her friends.
My one decent approach was a lone wolf. From what it looked like, she was with her friend who was being gamed by a guy. (but they never interacted so I never really did find out who she came with). It was by a fire pit so I just went with an opener I sometimes use where I ask if she brought the shishkabob, and how there's going to be a BBQ here, and we're bringing a giant pig to roast here. Then I ask her if she likes bacon, she says she loves it and I give her a hug. She asks me a few questions then we talk about music for a little while before eventually she says she has to head out because she works early tomorrow.
So ouch. I'm pretty sure it was my vibe was killing me, because usually the openers hit way better than they did tonight. Or it could also be that I've been using them so much that they've become robotic so it's time for a new couple openers.
