My last notes on the subject:

These drugs have the ability to break down all social boundaries and social conditioning for a short period of time. During this time, you become VERY suggestible. Whatever experience you have can leave a long lasting imprint on your consciousness.

When you are in this state, everything becomes "insightful." You start thinking just like a child.

This is why a guy like Tim Leary was really dangerous. He put this powerful message forward and convinced young people that acid was a good idea. They would take it, have a “clean slate” for 12 hours and during that time were completely open to suggestion which let them soak up Leory’s rhetoric as fact. After many doses, this fucked up many people’s lives. “Tune in, turn on, drop out” – a terrible message for impressionable young people.

This is why cults have used psychedelic drugs in the past – it is easy to control people if you can program them to have your belief system while they are in a state of pure suggestibility.

This is also why they can have very positive effects if used responsibly by therapists and why many people who are on a constructive path in life can have positive life changing experiences while on drugs.

After DMT, I Immediately quit smoking cigarettes for example.

I couldnt disagree more.  You realize Crick attributed the insight of the double helix to LSD right?

Now, i'm all for using LSD as a visualisation tool like that. What i'm not for on the other hand, is pushing it on people who are not open to it.
It's like pushing pickup products on your chode friends. You know what i'm talking about. It's too far outside a lot of peoples reality and you should just respect that.

The people who got something out of it should just be happy with it. No need to defend it or anything.
It is powerful enough to defend itself if any doubter would actually try it for themselves instead of just trusting second hand experience.

Be careful tho, it has fucked up a lot of people. I don't recomend it to anyone even though i enjoyed my own experiences.

I'd agree that this is true for many drugs,

but you should know that most of the eastern philosophies we all like so much are heavily influnced by psychedelic substances.

And having some experience with drugs like LSD, i'd say they *can* (under the right circumstances) give you more real insights than all the silly books and self-actualization products that we keep talking about on these forums.

The only psychadelic I've tried is psilocybin mushrooms and I found it to be pretty profound. The things I found most interesting were the loss of ego and intense presence. IMO, intense presence is the main cause of the loss of ego. The ego is usually past and future projections, and when you are intensely in the moment the ego goes missing. As a result of this, you end up connecting better with people while on the trip. Almost all people I've spoken to reported having deep connections with the people they tripped with. I believe that is because of the loss of ego that takes place, in other words, everyone is being authentic with each other...

LSD is next on my to-do list. I have read about similar 'loss of ego' effects that it has.

LSD can give you some spiritual insight if you write down your experience and look at it from a sober perspective. However, LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, and ect, really "bias" your experience in a way because they're not natural to your body. DMT on the otherhand--the dream molecule--is something a little more... authentic.

EDIT: Oh yea... FIRST POST!teeth

DMT is seriously, seriously fucked up. I can't believe that stuff even exists.
