For serious, this has been one of the single greatest thing I've started doing for myself lately.

Just get out of your house, walk around your neighborhood. Breath in the air, drag yourself into presence. Walk reaaal slow, admire everything around you. Allow yourself to feel amazing. Just feel it.
Awesome ideas and epiphanies and everything just climb out of nowhere. It's alot like meditation, but not nearly as boring, and you can work on your body language, say hi or start conversation with anyone you might run across. I feel like I learn something atleast slightly profound about life everytime I go out and just walk around.. and I do it every day.

Mearly the act of walking has sorta become some kind of anchor for feeling amazing nowadays. I get eyed down hard in the hallways at school, I've had girls open me with something close to "You're always so damn proud and happy!" "You're the only person at this school who smiles.. blah blah" with an almost jealous tone to it, it's hilarious. Guys always comment on my "swagger" and say I look "badass as hell". I personally have no idea what I look like when I walk, but I know I feel awesome and fully relaxed while I'm doing it. I should film myself one of these days and have a laugh.

If you have the time, just do it.

Get out.

Walk around.

Soak up the world.

You'll get more out of it than surfing RSD for sure.

Couldn't agree more.

All I need is my shoes and my iPod :)

screw the ipod. Listen to the sounds of your community, your city, the world...

This is the most simplistic and valuable post I've ever seen. SO much power in this

hiking is even better than just a walk around the 'hood.

also, intense exercise is even better for you.  try taking up weight lifting, or jogging.  those good feelings you get from your walk...well they can get much better.  can u say endorphin rush?

I just took a great walk. About 30 minutes of just walking and enjoying nature -- suburubs are shit for this, but the sky is still so big and beautiful -- then I plugged my headphones in and listened to 2 of my favorite albums. I did a bit of HIIT during the second album (Liquid Swords by Genius / GZA), which felt great. Used lampposts as markers for when to stop sprinting, pushing myself past said markers the last couple of sprints. I had 2 songs left by the time I got home. I sat on the stoop while listening to the penultimate track. After that, I climbed up on top of my car to listen to the final song (embedded below, really beautiful and affecting stuff, even if you're areligious like me) while staring at the overcast sky.

I used to do this a lot but sort of trailed off when school started again. Definitely better than spending 2 hours surfing the internet. Even if I had stepped in dog shit it would've been great.

Something in me decided I would run until I wanted to die tonight.

I was completely determined to just keep running even though my body and everything in me was saying NO NO NO, in my head I was screaming YES YES YES with a full on smile.

Almost passed out.

Had never felt so fucking manly.

My shins hurt.

Been listening to Pink Floyd and Sigur Ros all night.

Can't sleep.

Lol, ramblin'.

Great advice!!

I do this all the time, especially to the ocean (I live 7 blocks from the Pacific Ocean).  It is the only thing that keeps me sane.

YES. I went on the most relaxing walk yesterday with my dog. It was a gray day and it's a suburb, but I found beauty in everything the way some people do when they go deep into nature. I wouldn't have been able to do this without listening to Eckhart tolle and Osho.
