Hey guys,

I've officially signed up for the Copenhagen Bootcamp with Brad on March 27th-29th and have drawn up a plan of action for the month leading up to the event.

In this thread I hope to give you an insight on where my skillset is before the event, write up FR's and publicly hold myself acountable.

There will also be a plan of action Post-Bootcamp, to detail my progress and the impact, such an event can have on my life.

Quick Background:

I'm 20 years old, 2nd year university student, seen the Jeffy Show and the Blueprint Decoded. 3 lays, 1 STR and 1 LTR. Developed healthy mindsets and a good confidence, lacking work ethic in field and have decided and committed myself to do the practical work. Working out for the Marathon and therefore do not drink more than an occasional glass of wine a week.

Plan of Action:

Thursday February 19th: Approach min. of 5 people in first 20 mins of arriving to venue - Focus on: VOCAL PROJECTION. Afterwards: Go to Karaoke Bar and sing 1 song.
Friday February 20th: Approach EVERYONE in Club: Approx. 30 sets (Inspired by Tyler Bootcamp review) - Focus on VOCAL PROJECTION
Saturday February 21st: Attend 1st ever Salsa Dance Lesson - Change venues and Approach EVERYONE in Club: Approx 30 sets - Focus on VOCAL PROJECTION

The Criterion for Success is to open as much as possible with whatever comes to mind and with "Hi, I'm The Duck"..

I prefer going out solo but tend to have friends with me 1 or 2 nights of the weekend. AA is unfortunately still a factor when I am 100% sober, but I think that when I get some approaches under my belt, it will definetely loose its effect.

Basically I'm in the search for that CLICK and hope that the combination of going out, approaching and an RSD Bootcamp, will produce that for me.

In the words of Barack Obama: "Lets' get to work..."

yeahh
just push and push and push until you are fucking exhausted, and then he will push more (someone)

you know 30 sets are a lot if you don't know how to push yourself,
just a quick tip that I used to do to keep going: Open > if they don't leave (it doesnt matter if they hook or not) ask them to chose some girl/group around them > Open that girl/group > repeat

Back from the first night out after signing up for the Bootcamp,

Snowy Thursday night, headed out solo to our legendary student bar.

My nights always start with a 45 min train ride where I usually listen to music or read something, but tonight I decided to listen to Martin Luther King's "We Shall Overcome" speech on my iPod.

I felt different tonight. After endless broken goals of wanting to approach, do this and that, tonight felt legit.

I know I have a Bootcamp at the end of March to prepare for.

State was calm and I opened the first group of people in the line outside I saw with a situational opener and kept talking about the same topic for a little while with the guy of the group.

I get inside and remember my goal of approaching 5 people within the first 20 mins.

I walk around for 1 or 2 minutes to scout out the place and tonight, like most other nights, it's SWARMING with 8's, 9's and 10's. Really stunning girls.

But my head is focused on doing the approaches and I sure enough end up doing them, but all of them are situational openers.

1st set is a 3 set of girls in the bathroom line. I initially walk up very calm and confident with a "Hey guys!" commanding tone. They all turn to look and I follow up with "Is it true that they're having 3 DJ's play tonight?" since the guy in the line mentioned something about that. They respond, I make a quick comment about the bathroom line and move on.

Ask the same thing to 2 other beer-promo girls who don't have a clue.

The I go outside find, randomly find 2 girls smoking and looking at the long line. I open "Hey, do you guys want to skip the line?" They're like "Yea, sure.." I show them the stamp on my arm and explain how to rub it on. They ask "Don't you have to lick on it, to make it rub off" I respond with "Oh no, you're definetely not licking me" They laugh and I move on.

Same 2 other random situational openers and met 2 girls from my class. We had some fun convo but I had trouble with my vocal projection. Not so much that I wasn't loud, but more that I was looking scattered around the venue, while talking.

I move on, saying I'm headed off to sing karaoke with some other friends (me, myself and I).

In any case, I take the Metro off to sing my first ever karaoke song by myself and push out of the comfort zone for real. I've been tempted before, when walking by the place, but never entered.

I get there and it's pretty packed with drunk guys lining up to sing. I take a long time looking over the list finding some songs I know, mainly R&B. I tell myself, I'm going to do it if they have the Jagged Edge "Good Luck Charm" song. They don't but I find an Usher song I know in and out. But by this time, I've stood there for a while and any momentum from previously has vanished.

I was to afraid of the unfamiliar and decided to sing it tomorrow night, right before I hit the club.

Despite of my below expected performance tonight, there is 1 thing I noticed: The feeling of safety in my comfort zone, is now very conscious, whereas before I could not figure out why I wasn't approaching (besides knowing I had AA) - Now I consciously know why it's easier to stay in the comfort zone, than transcend it.

I feel like I'm a car with an engine I am POSITIVE will work, but I never even give myself permission to put the keys in the ignition and turn it on!

That lack of entitlement and permission to just go up to a girl with intent and honesty, and say "Hi, I'm Duck - You're cute, I had to meet you", is my sticking point.

Any advice how to push forward, would be much appreciated.

Brad is from Wisconsin.  Be sure to ask him about cheese.

Friday night turned out to be a bust.

My goal was to do 10 approaches and had initially planned to go out solo.

But after a brutal 2 hour basketball session, I go out with my younger brother and a friend to the local bar. We basically end up playing some fussball and mess around with air hockey all night long. 3-4 cute girls were in the place, but nothing pulled me towards action.

Receieved the George Leonard book "Mastery" yesterday and starting to read a.s.a.p.

Going out toinght to my 1st Salsa lesson, than I'm off to sing Karaoke and then go into a club and basically unleash everything I have, in an effort to silence my mind and approach as much as possible.

At this point, I can't wait for the Bootcamp.

An intriguing Saturday night indeed,

I attended my first ever salsa lesson and have officially FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS DANCE!

It's so counterintuitive movementwise, since I'm a basketballplayer, but I must say that I got the hang of it after dancing with a girl, instead of going through the steps by myself in the beginning of the lesson. Needless to say, this is something I'm definetely taking up on a consistent basis. After the lesson, the floor was open and I saw this short guy 5 foot 6ish, late 40's just OWN the place..! He would be swinging the girls around and they were loving him.. Reminded me of the tale of superstar, with the added touch of other people notmocking him, but proabably instead admiring.

As far as opening goes, there wasn't much of anything besides the usual situational openers going on. No risk-taking and no real intent. After the salsa lesson I bounced venues into a bar where they had some cool live music, then went again to the karaoke bar where they had a cover charge and since I didn't have any money to pay it and the snow was pouring down, I kept walking..

Opened two smoking hot 9's asking for some cool bars to go to. They didn't quite know what to say and were busy trying not to fall on their high heels in the snow.

I found 2 of the coolest bars/exclusive lounges with people in the 25+ age group (i'm 20, so it's an older vibe) Girls were absolutely STUNNING! Copenhagen does its thing..!

1 or 2 approaches asking what the bar was called and nothing more. Even though people were all dressed up from head to toe in their Gucci and Burberry and I was sporting a sweet ass Hollister polo I couldn't have felt more comfortable.

But none of which results in real approaches.

Thanks for the encouraging words Brad,

At this point in time, I have dreams of being pushed into 6-sets with the instruction of opening with Croatian gibberish while tapdancing and doubleclawing! wink

In other words, definetely looking forward to blast through that comfort zone and experience a real RSD Bootcamp!

Hope this thread gives you some insight on where I'm at, so you can just start giving orders right off the bat and have me do whatever you say.

Off to read Mastery then meeting up with some friends to catch a movie.

All the best

That is SUCH a stereotype.  I lived in Wisconsin for many years and NO ONE ever asked me about cheese smile

Seriously, the best way to prepare for bootcamp is to go out a lot and push the interactions as far as they will go.  BTW, I am having bootcamp that same weekend with Alexander and Tyler in LA so I am following that advice myself.

BTW, when I was on bootcamp with Brad it was nice to have someone talk about cheese with.  I have missed all those great discussions since I left. wink

Hey guys,

Quick update:

Tactical Manual arrvied today..!!! Planning on writing the letter to my Inner Chode the night before the Bootcamp, to really mark my rite of passage..

Finished the book "Mastery" by George Leonard, and definetely see why all the RSD instructors recommended it so highly..

I'm looking forward to this weeks adventures on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.. : )

But untill then, I'm staying productive in school, working hard and just ran 9 kilometres today - Copenhagen Marathon in sight.

I also had a chance to estimate that my financial Bootcamp investment is up to about 80 hours of work this month, while being a full-time student, to cover the 1500 $, and a bank loan to cover the deposit. Oddly enough, I'm REALLY excited to be investing all of that into myself and my future.

Other than that, I highly recommend checking out Tony Dungy's "Uncommon: Finding Your Path To Significance" book..! The titles of the chapters are literally the titles in the Blueprint e.g. "Perception vs. Reality", "Being vs. Doing", "Eternal Self-Esteem", "Failing" etc. overall a GREAT book from a man whose led an uncommon life.

Enjoy your week..!
