Ohai there.

So the entire last week was a real humdinger, with the Giants win, victory parade and Halloween tomfoolery all rolled into one, followed by an amazing sunny weekend with day game at the park. The vaunted San Francisco "Indian summer"  extending all the way into November. Good times.

I'm in Cali for the next couple of weeks and then it's travel times once more. Here's the schedule:

November 9-11: San Francisco
November 15-17: Los Angeles
November 22-24: Vancouver
November 30-Dec2: Seattle (w/ Alex)
December 6-8: Las Vegas (w/ Tyler)
December 21-23: San Francisco
December 28-30: San Francisco
January 3-5: Los Angeles
January 10-12: Atlanta
January 18-20: San Francisco
January 24-26: Austin
February 1-2: San Francisco
February 7-11: New Orleans 5-Day Mardi Gras Alumni Bootcamp (w/ Tyler + Julien)

So today's video is a two-parter clocking in at 13 minutes. The first half was recorded smack dab in the middle of the riot itself in the immediate moments after the Giants won the Series. The last time they won I was there as well, but was so wasted that upon review, 90 percent of the footage was useless garbage. This year I was equally intoxicated but had a sort of game plan going in, so managed to get some good stuff before sailing off into DURR land completely.

I then went to the more family-friendly ticker tape parade celebrating the victory three days later, and shot a supplemental video when I was a bit more... coherent. lol

The video is about how the team was able to overcome some pretty serious setbacks and come back to win it all, and how that relates to the struggle many guys encounter when learning game. I mean, these guys are some scrappy little fucks. Fans of the team often refer to the "sweet torture" of watching them have to scratch and claw till the bitter end to pull off wins most of the time. Even when they're down you can't count them out. And then, when you're least expecting it, WHAM they bring some superman shit to the table and SWEEP a team that all of the experts said were gonna just dominate them.

ESPN 2012 world Series Expert Predictions

Another interesting thing to note about the team is that it's filled with these kind of unique characters. They're not exactly the square jawed American heroes like Derek Jeter banging supermodels and shit. (although I'm sure they get plenty of hot ass - check out the "infield footage" of Sergio Romo starting at 11:55... beasting the lady reporter while wearing locs and a t-shirt that says "I JUST LOOK ILLEGAL" hahaha. Strong claw on that guy... just watch his swag). They've kind of got that oddball thing going, which is something that really strikes a chord with me and my own life. Taking eccentricities and turning them into gold.

Other little highlights include the random drunk guy who was sitting next to me at the bar interloping into the video repeatedly, and the terrified elderly tourists on the bus at 1:50. I showed this video to Owen, and he said it represents "the kind of work I'm capable of producing when I'm having fun," and I'm inclined to agree with him. Enjoy:

RIOT GAME: Overcoming Adversity

The idea here is to take some inspiration from the Giants and really look at the areas where YOU might be inadvertently imposing limits on yourself that you shouldn't, because of limiting beliefs. Understand that tough setbacks condition you to breeze past the little ones, and that the harder you work for it, the sweeter it is when you achieve it.

Also note that there is a cyclical nature to the game. It can't all be awesome times lording it up in the club with the turbos. There will be dry spells, periods of reflection when you lose interest in the game, etc etc. The way you react to these periods is what really defines you.

For example, the Giants had this amazing 2010 series, then everything just sort of fell apart the next year. There was the Posey injury, and even an incident where a Giants fan, Bryan Stow, got the shit kicked out of him and put into a coma by some Dodger fans at a game in LA. That was just a huge bummer and you could tell the team and the city's morale was completely fucked. But in many ways, they used all that as the fuel, the inspiration to come back and perform at a higher level than ever before.

That's cyclical nature of the game, and of life really.

A few weeks ago I had what I felt was the PERFECT DAY... I remember lying in the park, students getting it done, hot ass girl next to me in the sun, my shirt off ripped thinking: "I could die right now and it would be at the peak of my existence." I almost wanted a meteor to fall out of the sky and strike me dead - a perfect moment. Like, "it can't get any better... but it could get worse."

I told Owen this and he replied, "It'll get both better AND worse. It's fine."

Isn't that the truth.

See you guys next week with a video from Calgary about the benefits and pitfalls of learning the game as a youngster vs. an elder gentleman.

Cheers,

j

Phenomenal.  "Shut the fuck up and get it done!".  Such a simple message and it seems like one I learned and internalized long ago, yet sometimes doubt has a way of sneaking in the back door. Fuck that. Thanks for the reminder.

Always love your videos Jeffy, I'm from Nor Cal, currently studying and working in Korea, funny to see you do the Kangnam dance, thats where we usually hang out and mack hoes. Definitely some of the hotest top shit in the world out here. Anyways,  a buddy of mine is going to do your camp in seattle and i'm flying out from Korea to SF Dec 22- Jan 3. Are you running any free tours or only but camps then? I'd like to do a hot seat but from what I understand you don't do them anymore and i'm one week shy of going to Alex's. Hope to take some RSD programs in the future!

Yeah, you see a lot of whining and shit on the forum about stuff that people cannot change and it's just utterly POINTLESS. You wanna cry and shit? Go move back in with your parents and insulate yourself from the world. Fuck off, the rest of us will be sacking the fuck up and overcoming it.

Yep, I posted a couple weeks ago about my new gym/life plan for LONG TERM SUSTAINABILITY.... not going as HARDCORE with gym and diet, being realistic about what I can maintain over a long term without getting burned out on it or going so extreme I then binge out on shit... it's been working pretty well as you can see.

Yes, that's the secret to my game.. I consume pickled chicken feet before each outing. You can probably find it in Chinatown or the Outer Richmond, along with the special Three Penis Wine that is the source of my strength and virility.

First of all, congratulations on your video work because it is very original and inspiring.

Second, I think you try to interconnect two different things: going there and getting it done no matter where you're at is because you can't choose the situation where you start "from".
But coming from an emotional deficit is in no way a disadvantage or at least from what I've seen, guys who don't give a fuck actually have much more chances to get good at this.

In a sense that's true, but the disadvantage manifests in the poorer-than-average social skills that growing up with that emotional deficit tends to engender. Excessive shyness, low emotional intelligence and social acuity, etc etc.

Jeff I had no idea you were such a huge baseball fan. I've been playing baseball my whole life and there are so many parallels between baseball and game. Baseball is a total numbers game, and a game of failure at that. I only got into RSD about 6 months ago, but my experience playing sports has taught me to deal with rejection, bad luck, and negative criticism pretty well, I still get amazed at how many excuses some of these guys on the forum come up with.

It's funny, because even growing up playing baseball through high school and college, the "naturals" on my teams growing up all had techniques and lines, and I'm pretty sure every single one of us read The Game back in the day. Game respects game. No one is cut from a different cloth, even athletes, we still go on cold streaks and get screwed over by GF's. Even in pro-ball, we still love to go out at night after a long day at the field and trade strategies and push each other to approach. We were all still using the same canned lines over and over, getting drunk, and basically just DHVing that we're baseball players. Still works well, don't get me wrong but once I started to follow the RSD principles it started to become a bloodbath :) Now a lot of my teammates watch the videos on youtube haha.

Anyways, wasn't quite sure what to think of you from your online persona, but I enjoyed the free tour and running into you on Friday night. I was the guy in the yankees hat and then the green deep v-neck the night after. Gonna be a BEAST once spring training starts!
Ah that was you... good to put a face to the online name.

I'm much different in person than I am on the forum because there's so much fucking idiocy on the main forum that it makes me transform into a trolly mcsnarkerson... there's really no helping some of these people... you can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink, and for me to expend effort trying to do so is like throwing pearls before swine... I will give my honest best advice as a ten year professional and it's most of the time just dismissed with some faggotry that serves only to reinforce their own disempowering belief systems.

Gigantes bitches!! What a playoff run it was. So many great moments from poseys grand slam, pandas 3 homer game, zitos performance with our backs against the wall, vintage Timmy out of the bullpen, and all the ridiculous fielding plays we made. What a team.. As a diehard fan I fuckin Loved this video. Just made me that much more dissapointed that I was in SoCal at the time. But it's all good stilled wrecked shop down here..

haha im a short indian and i live in my parent's basement.. :p then again I'm also 18 and in high school haha. However, would my being in high school affect the way college girls think about me though? Should I lie and say I'm older? I live near a University so I constantly try my game on girls there. It goes pretty well for high school girls that chill out there but it seems that even if I tell the girls I'm 18 they don't really buy into it and aren't really as attracted as they were before.

The biggest thing I took from this is how different someone is when they are drunk from when they're sober. Sometimes I find myself wanting to tell myself that having a little buzz is basically the same as being sober, just with a little bit higher of an energy level.

Im 18 in highschool also. Whenever i try to pull college girls i move around the age question by changing the subject. If they really persist on it i say " age is just a number anyone who judges people by age is stupid " or something to the effect. Usually you can get around the question with this.

I'm from Brazil and a buddy of mine was there, It was game between Coritiba and Fluminense (two nacional soccer teams) in december 2009 if I remember right. It was a very important match and if Curtitiba lost the game he would go to league B.

Actually, there were criminals in the crowd who started it, and I believe that by using the ego from other people (they lost the game), it came down to that. It's a shame, but it's human nature... Don't know what to do with these crazy fuckers people.

jlaix wasn't kidding.

After B. Weezy was out for the year and The Melk Man got his 50-game PED suspension (later kicked off the squad) no one thought the Giants had a shot, including myself.

Great acquisitions of Pence and Scutaro (dude dropped dick in the playoffs), great starting pitching (even with Tiny Tim sucking for most of the year), and great chemistry and faith led to their 2nd championship in 3 years!
