Happy Tuesday everybody. Just got back home from Vancouver, where I ran a bootcamp and unfortunately broke my streak of sleeping with teenagers when visiting Canada. Regardless it was pretty awesome... hit up the most DTF club in the entire city of Van: The Roxy, which featured old ladies rolling around on the floor in broken glass, puke in the urinals, and a Danny Devito look-alike performing enthusiastic dance moves to a Black Eyed Peas cover band.

Anyways, doing up a BC this weekend in San Francisco, then off to Vegas to run program with Tyler, and then the schedule looks like this:

November 30-Dec2: San Francisco
December 6-8: Las Vegas (w/ Tyler)
December 21-23: San Francisco
December 28-30: San Francisco
January 3-5: Los Angeles
January 10-12: Atlanta
January 18-20: San Francisco
January 24-26: Austin
February 1-2: San Francisco
February 12-16: New Orleans (w/ Tyler + Julien)
February 19-23: Miami 5-Day Alumni BC (w/ Tyler + Julien)
February 26-Mar 3: Miami 5-Day Alumni BC (w/ Tyler + Julien)

So yeah, today's vblog is a bit of a departure from the normal traveling ones. I'm starting to put together content for my blog at www.getlaidordie.com as right now it's just some static site, totally unimpressive. Tyler basically told me that I need to develop a sort of "manifesto" that people who click on the blog with no knowledge of pickup (like, say, your dad) could easily understand.

What many people don't realize about the "pickup community" is that there is a pretty high turnover rate. Typically within six months you will have an almost entirely new crop of people who are just getting into it. Most will learn what they need, and get out once they've achieved the modest level of competence they came in looking for. There is only a small vocal minority that stay around for years, always wanting to go deeper, but they give the impression that EVERYBODY is like this. This is why instructors sometimes feel pressure to always be developing the "hot new shit" to "take it to the next level."

But really at the end of the day, this shit isn't fucking rocket science, and in fact too much "advanced theory" can actually be counterproductive in many cases. In my experience, at the advanced level it's more of a constant RE-LEARNING of fundamentals than it is "OMG EPIPHANY DERP."

With that in mind, I've taken on the task of making some more fundamental, almost "newbie" style videos covering the basics for use of the blog, so new people can come in and get a grasp of what the fuck it is we're talking about here without having to wade through oceans of the more esoteric stuff. The first video I shot in this vein was based off a simple coaching checklist that I found from YEARS ago (~2004) that I used to use on bootcamp. My list is a LOT more exhaustive now, but these particular checkpoints still remain valid as ever. I shot it in a sort of cheesy "NINE FUNKY TIPS TO BOOST YOUR SUCCESS WITH WOMEN OVERNIGHT!" style because I found it amusing, maybe you will too. Here you go:

Anyway, there's my contribution for the week. I'm going on a hiatus next week during the launch of Brad's new program EVOLUTIONS, but I'll be back after that with a special video from 2007 featuring a freshly minted Alexander during his period of instructor training for RSD, entitled "Training Day w/ Jeffy". Like Denzel. Yup.

Cheers,

-j

Anyway, your video is awesome. I think the only advice newbies should have is "Go find out how the game works" lol

I love you jeff, come to brazil.

Hilarious. On my way across the border the last time I was there we ask the customs officer for recommendations. "The Roxy".

Third approach is a two set, pull and fuck mine in the hostel near by in 30 minutes then we come back and my buddy gets a freebie (you're welcome).

I love Canada. Even their federal officers help you get laid.

Nice. Interesting shit there about facial expressions. It got my attention because on approaches there's one facial expression among many newbie friends of mine that I see very often and used to do it myself: "THE FEAR SMILE". I'm no expert but basically it's a combination of "happiness" (Hey I'm fun! Wanna be my friend?) and "fear" (here I come holy shit! Holy shiiiit!!). It makes the girl reject you even before you approach. Like 15 feet before. Ouch! Once you start to pay attention to this it becomes obvious. So for all the newbies out there: DON'T APPROACH WITH THE FEAR SMILE ON!!! I'd add that to the check list... So chill that face... Chilly chilly like Jeffy here.. chilly chilly like John Cusack ; )
If you want to get deeper in this arena I'd recommend Paul Ekman's books. There's one out there (FACS, i think) with like 300 pics of facial expressions and the muscles involved. Also PC programs like METT or SETT.
Cheers!

yeah, jeffy is probably the best instructor to school newbies.

and I agree that the game is not rocket science.

What makes it interesting for me is  when the game starts applying to other aspects of life not just banging girls.

Sometimes deep theory makes you realize that, but if you are not getting laid and don't have the fundamentals then the theory is not going to bring you shit since you are still not getting any pussy.

For everyone out there without girls...
Someone bringing it back to basics is definitely needed!

and for everyone out there that thinks knows the fundamentals this is a good to test yourself if you really know whats up.

peace

Just what I've been looking for, perfect.
I've found myself to be stuck in so called "intermediate purgatory", and have been baffling my self by a lot of paradoxes. I had an "OMG EPIPHANY DERP" recently where I saw myself falling into a too unreactive frame, and noticed that I wasn't smiling and having as much fun as I did earlier ( I could go out, no booze and have fun and pull. Recently, I've been thinking "man i really need to get drunk so I can get my game face on.") I've also found myself to have caught the "im high value+good with women, so why am I not closing now as I did in the past?" disease which has led me to become too outcome dependant and reaction seeking.

Luckily, due to the fact that I've started writing field logs over the past couple of months I was able to notice this and I'm working on this sticking point now. I've been on a dryspell and I know once I break through this barrier it'll be an evolution in my game. I'm now dumbing everything down to clear my head and revisiting the basics, I know to trust the process which has brought me great results in the past.

P.S. Your vocabulary is spectacular in this video as always Jeffy

Brings back memories of getting The Jeffy Show as the first RSD product.

Those fundamentals are still only thing you need.

cool hair, cool knife (though scary! imagine a pissed off girl stabbed you with this in a girl-rage)

this seems to be the opposite "strategy" to ozzies fear technology, which states "all these flaws are caused by fear / insecurity. get rid of the fear and they will autocorrect", here it is "correct the flaws directly"

i found that right now, the ozzie approach works better for me. when i' in set and start to  think "durr don't lean in so much durr" it completely fucks me up and makes me retreat deeply into my stupid head

Jeff, I've been following RSD for so long that I may have this checklist in written form around here somewhere from the days that you were doing the RSD newsletter in the mid 00's.

I have a fatal addiction, in that I am an information junkie and could listen to the latest, flashiest new-fangled idea pouring from (insert instructor du jour here) on RSD Nation every day.  I'm not saying that they don't have value or aren't interesting.  But, if you want to attract a woman, have sex with her and God forbid, maybe even get a girlfriend, it's probably best to just get back to the basics and keep it simple.

Thanks, again!  I will be downloading this video and playing as the "coaches speech" along with my bootcamp material from Nathan before I go out.

Thank you Jeffy, this was informative and useful.  I think you should make an individual video for each one of these nine points on your checklist.

I dig this video's content. Background not so much,.. lol Good analogy to a doctor diagnosing a medical problem. When I'm off my game, then I definitely violate more of these rules (body distance/location, vocal projection, REACTIVE to shit tests). Moving forward I'll use this checklist to keep my practice tight...

Thanks! I appreciate your foundation-up posts.
