Whatup fools I'm back with another screed hot off the laptop as we cruise into the last week of the Aussie stops on this crazy tour I've been up to. Gonna be in Sydney this week then it's back home for a full 6 weeks off. Here's the remaining schedule for JEFFY HOTSEAT v1.0:

Over the course of the last eleven weeks I've grown a lot both personally and professionally. There was a bit there in the middle where it looked like I was over-exerting myself and blew out my voice. After that, coming into the southern hemisphere I was concerned that the intensity of the tour was fucking it up long term, but it seems that I've now completely adapted to the increased workload; there've been no issues whatsoever this month. Just to be on the safe side though, Alex and I came up with the idea that is so simple we're sort of kicking ourselves for not seeing it earlier: we're just gonna mic ourselves in the future. DURR.

So, after this it's back home to rest up and refocus on health, getting my blog off the ground, quick trip up to Alaska for Xmas with the fam, and then BANG off to spend January in Canada, which sounds absolutely delightful. ha ha.

After that it's going to be time to upgrade the hotseat based on all the feedback we've garnered this time around. 90% of the reviews have been amazing, but there seems to be a small contingent of guys who are all "the girls aren't 9s and 10's I only game 9s and 10s durr." I spent a year or so intermittently recording in San Francisco for my program and the whole time Tyler was like "dude you need to travel to LA etc to get footage" and my attitude was, "Dude whatever, it's the same shit, they just aren't wearing fuckin cocktail dresses, heels and blowdried hair, if these fuckin idiots are too stupid to tell the difference fuck em"

Aaaaand sure enough, we then see a few reviews all "DURR THEY WERENT WEARING THE COCKTAIL DRESSES FUCK THIS SHIT DURR"

Ok, fine. Looks like I'll be traveling to LA a bit. My game is not the issue as whenever I go down there for bootcamp I kill it just as easily as I do up north, it's just a bit of a hassle for me. BUT I want the next iteration to be PURE PLATINUM with NONE of this shit being an issue in the future... NO QUESTION, NO EXCUSES. Again, the point of hotseat is not "proof Jeffy is awesome," it's to HELP PEOPLE. So when I see guys talking themselves out of believing that what they're seeing before them is legit and will WORK FOR THEM, it's very disheartening. So as the purveyor, guess the ONUS IS ON ME to go and get the footage that will satisfy them. Lesson learned. I'm a bit stubborn (as we all are from time to time) so I had to experience this to get me to come around, but yeah. Of course, there is always going to be the odd random who finds fault regardless, but an outlier is an outlier, whatever.

So anyway, let's get to today's video. Long-term sustainibility in the game. In the intro, I've created a new hybrid of music paying homage to the local aboriginal culture in Perth, as well as the recent trend of dubstep music... WITCHETTY GRUBSTEP. Check it out:

This is a topic that I'm sure many guys can relate to... every time I ask at a live event if anyone is familiar with these "ups and downs" in the game, you'll get a number of exasperated sighs as people raise their hands. The thing to understand, which I've come to grips with over the course of my ten years doing this, is that these peaks and valleys are acutally NORMAL, and may in fact even be necessary for growth.

A lot of the time, I've found that one of these "down cycles" signifies that I'm about to break through a plateau HARD, as was the case this year.

BUT... nobody is going to do this FOR you. Yes, it's important to surround yourself with the right people, and definitely your peer group can help, but at the end of the day, you need to have a FIRE WITHIN to push yourself beyond where you currently are.

As the saying goes, "the enemy of the great is the good" Like I said with my shit, it's very very GOOD. Personally, I'm completely satisfied with my current level of skill. I get laid whenever I want, with the girls I want. As a result, why the fuck would I want to go out night after night like I did back in the old days when I was scratching and clawing just to become COMPETENT? I see my assistants running around the club all night like psychopaths, SET SET SET SET SET.... and meanwhile I can just chill with a beer all night and then an hour before the club closes casually hit a girl up and BOOM pull her.

Why go through all the effort unless you are highly motivated to do so?

That motivation, for me, was seeing Tyler's experience making his Hotseat 2. His original was great, but anyone who's seen the new shit can attest that the difference is absolutely mind-blowing. Plus, it's obvious he's having a massive amount of FUN doing it, and then seeing the crowds get that higher level of EDUCATIONAL experience from it, well, THAT'S what's inspiring me to take my own shit to the next level and go FULL BORE.

WHY NOT.

Fuck this, this is my profession so let's take this to its logical conclusion... FULL OBNOXIOUS.

It's actually quite exciting... it's a feeling like I had in the old days, the "golden era" when I was just starting out. Back then, everything was awesome, because it was new. Blowout? AWESOME. Get laid? AWESOME. It was like entering into a magical realm of Narnia or some shit, learning the rules of this new world and experiencing magical adventures along the way.

THAT is the fuel that any n00b getting in to this shit must discover and tap into if they want to have any hope of slogging through that initial pain period where they don't see results. And further down the line, it's how you keep passion for the game alive: by pushing yourself continually and finding fascination with the new challenges presented as you descend ever-deeper down the rabbit hole. 

It all comes back to PROCESS OVER OUTCOME. You find the fire, you find the love, and that's how you make it work. All the guys in RSD and all of the best "RSD Success Stories" share that common denominator.

Anyways, I'm excited. Down the rabbit hole we go, further and further.
