Hi I can't respond to your msg cause I'm still under 100 forum posts, but here's my response copypasted:

Well I am still a beginner myself. Actually I'm atm an employee myself, having a steady spot on oDesk for 40 hours a week doing data entry but it's actually a gig I'm really enjoying and it brings most of that 20k. However I can't give you step by step plan of getting something like that cause I just sort of stumbled into it.

I've written also my own ebook which for a while brough 100-200 dollars a month but obviously that wasn't any long term solution and the sales dwindled after a few months. Another thing I tried was creating my own affiliate site, with similar results - little income, but not a lot.

What it is that you'd exactly want to do? For me only thing that mattered was that I would not mind working hard / etc. as long as I could earn the money in a way that enabled me to live anywhere in the world I chose, or even travel continuously.

Anything you do the basic principles apply, work hard, work consistent, work with good focus and put your best effort in at all times. That always applies whether you are creating your own products as an entrepreneur or whether you are just doing as told as an employee.
