The Great Jonesby

I was at the gym today and began tussling around some concepts in my head. I was thinking about belief in oneself. When you start the journey of discovering yourself as a man, you have zero belief in yourself. Sometimes you may have 5% or maybe even 10%, but regardless or your situation your level of belief is nowhere near 100%. Not to worry folks, that is where the beauty of the journey lies.

You discover the world of self-help, maybe even a company like RSD. You want to get shit in your life handled…i.e. you want to be successful and dating a beautiful woman, maybe even start a family. The problem or so you belief at the moment, is that you have to put in a ton of work to get there. The journey seems next to impossible and you hope and belief that a magic pill will get you instant results and takes you to the promise land.

After some research and little action you decide no magic pill exists and are stuck with a choice. Your two options include: giving up and living a meaningless life of despair and struggle dominated by your ego, or sticking to the path, grinding it out and making yourself into the best person you possibly can be or death. I suggest choosing the later.

Okay, so now you choose the hard route and want to begin the journey of constant evolution and prosperity. You still have your 5% belief, but because of research you discovered the beauty of setting goals and taking action. You decide to challenge yourself to overcome one of your fears and push the comfort zone.

Cold-approaching women may be scary, so you make it a point to talk to at least 3 random women a day for the next two weeks.
The first day it’s difficult to gain the courage for the first approach. Your terrified, and your palms are sweaty and mind is racing. You see a girl by herself…maybe a 7 on your scale. Its now or never, and you decide to bite the bullet and go in. You greet her with a simple hello and a nervous smile. SUCCESS!

The next two approaches follow a similar pattern, with you ejecting early. Two weeks pass and you meet your challenge. Your belief now moves from 5% to 10%. Congratulations you grew. You then proceed to set more goals. Approaching more women, yet focusing on different skills you need in life. Eye contact, body language, and vibing are all skills you acquire in your journey.

Along the way you decide to get your business life together. That career you wanted all along but never acted on is in your sites. You enroll in the necessary classes to make you succeed and excel with purpose and intent. You find yourself getting more social. Since you have been pushing your comfort zone consistently, you begin to walk through life with a general ease about yourself. Suddenly random people are talking to you, and you are making a connection with everyone you meet.

Your belief is around 40% now. You are going on more dates and pushing yourself to be better and better each day. You decide to take up a sport. Basketball always peaked your interest so you begin practicing and playing in pick-up games. Around the same time, you have a growing fascination with literature. You decide to attempt to read a book a week, which you succeed in accomplishing.

Your belief is around 60% in yourself now. You’re on a sports team, on track to excel in your career, approaching and meeting beautiful women, and expanding your mind through literature. Time passes and you stick to your path. Always finding ways to grow and evolve from your current self.

There are some weeks where you hit a plateau. This is fine. Hell, they can even last longer than a week, and sometimes will be shorter. You don’t care. You stick to the path and keep grinding it out. You made your choice at the beginning of the journey and are sticking with it.

Who knows where you will be years from now…I’m willing to bet you will be one of the most interesting, solid men in the world still evolving and growing with each day.

Good luck with your journey gentlemen. Hope this helps.
