Whatup dudes!  Spending my last few days here in Tokyo before heading back to the US for the holidays.

Excited about getting back, as well as finally getting an apartment for the first time in almost 3 years.

I'm going to move to Chicago full time, and take multiple improv classes to get shit rocking there.  EXCITED!!!

Ah, might as well tell everyone, I have one more spot on my last US bootcamp of the year, December 21st-23rd in Chicago, so get on that if you are interested!!!

Today's vid is about how I choose the friends/mastermind I surround myself with, how they've helped me push through success barriers, and how you can also get around the right type of people to push yourself to get what you want out of life.

Thanks for pointing out Abraham Hicks. I'm gonna check out his stuff, although his website bills him as the originator of the "Secret." Kind of silly seeing as James Allen wrote As a Man Thinketh a hundred years earlier.

Anyway, I like the cut-throat and fastidious boundaries you have with your friends. Something to emulate for sure. If it wasn't for Christmas times with the fam I would totally be in Chicago! Keep the boot-camps coming!

Ooooooh SHIT Great Wall Of China -- so jealous!  That panoramic shot looked amazing.

Fantastic video!  You're clearly completely comfortable now on camera and in public places, it's very cool to see.

This has been another great week on RSDN!  We're gonna record in Maui this weekend for the wedding, hopefully road to Hana and top of the volcano, should be sick.

Hearing nothing but great things about "Evolutions"!  Psyched for Miami!

It's all about knowing the process works.. doesn't really matter who applies it.
It's like before i had my first sale in business I was " yeah, maybe it would be cool if it worked, meh, I am scared, doubt, ohh".
AFter I was like "wtf, let's get more people here, oh, sell more yeahh"
It changes everything.

You remind me I should get more friends that are inspiring to me.. It would increase my experience of life!

Awesome video thanks man. I´ve always had a tendency to give up when I run into a problem I can´t seem to find a solution to. I start thinking "Oh I guess this was a bad idea.."

I´ve been aware of that silly uncounscious thinking lately and remind myself that it´s just an obstacle like it often turns out to be. Not a reason to find other ways (to make money, in my case)

This speech really helped me with keeping that in mind even stronger than until now.

I don't know man. Choosing your friends with a goal in mind seems a bit too streamlined to me. I think it's really important to be open to all kinds of people and not be like "this dude does not have characteristics I want to have, so screw him" . I'm a very analytic person and I love to surround myself with musicians, artists, historians, non-academics and so on. Not because I want to be like they're but to see the world a little bit from their eyes. Because if you cement your believe system with having only people around you that are like you but more extreme in some ways is very close to group-thinking.

That said I really think you have to surround yourself with that kind of people, too. As you said especially a having a mentor kind situation can help you big time. But it shouldn't be the only criteria to choose people you hang out.

i feel like you've recently "leveled up" regarding article content. im sure your game has too but i dont see your game on a weekly basis. In my opinion, your content is developing to be similar to Owens. By that i mean, you're explaining lots of depth while keeping it clear and understandable. keep it up bro!

But how can I begin to go about finding the types of friends in my life that I genuienly want?

I do try and see the best in everyone and am no longer the aloof elitist I use to be, but it does seems most people I meet are negative hater types or have no goals and purpose in life, and no desire to change or transform. Maybe it's because I only go to clubs and bars to meet people? And when I have met higher quality people they have their own lives and it seems impossible to hang out with them.

Got a question, if you don't mind... Is Derrick the same way (strict with the social circle and friends) like you and Tyler?

Say, right now I'm wondering if it is the right thing to do to alienate a bit my coworkers/housemates/etc... Simply because I feel they are a bit complacent in their lives, which I feel affects me quite a bit.

OTOH, if I do that, I'll have to find more awesome/motivated friends and hang around with THEM. Hm, good idea...

But is Derrick the same way with friends and social circle or is it just RSD thing (like how Tyler said "I don't believe in business networking", "I'd rather surround myself with small social circle", not verbatim but he said that in one of his success videos)?

Maybe ask him what it took to become a multi-millionaire, mindset, focus, what drives him etc etc.

Sick video Brad!  I was at that same great wall location (mutianyu) as you back in July. View was INSANE. Way better than the other one that was supposedly crowded and less scenic.  The top of the stairs at 3:35 were a bitch to hike up.  And that merchant who sells shit on the platform and lives in a tent around the corner is pretty crazy.  Definitely check out the bar Helens in Tiananmen Square, lots of foreigners there. 

Hook up with any hot asians there? I didn't see too many

 Merry Chirstmas Brad!  Your blogs and videos have been very motivating and inspiring.
I truly believe that you are the average of the books you read and the top 5 people you hang around with the most.

See, the problem with this is, if you hang out with people who are 'better' than you, sure, you will raise your average. However, why would they want to hang out with you? You're technically pulling their average down; why would they want that?
