Whatup!

Just pounding through brainstorming sessions with my staff about the upcoming LSA launch, it's seriously going to be epic.

I really think the new set of bonuses I'm adding to for the upcoming class are taking things to an entirely new level, SO STOKED.

Anyway, I mentioned last week how I was hanging with Owen in Santa Barbara attending a Spiral Dynamics seminar, and of course I learned a lot from the seminar, but I really think a bigger benefit from the trip was just being able to hang with Owen and Todd and solidifying a lot of our business plans for the future.

We talked a lot about where RSD is headed, the direction I'm taking my content, delivery styles, product quality, honing our craft, etc.

And one big concept that kept coming up was becoming a "Man in Your Prime."

Owen's really big into the term, and we were both excited about how the idea directly ties into what I'm teaching in the LSA, and I thought it would be a great idea to get a vid with him explaining the concept.

And what follows is that vid, which I recorded right before heading to the airport, and has Owen going on a 30 minute rant, and me just sitting there like a tard the whole time.  LOL.

I seriously jetted straight out the door after the vid, would have loved to give my 2 cents, but the content is great, and gives you a backstage view of where we plan to take RSD in the coming years.

So check it out and let me know what you think!

Are you getting jazzed to attend the next Lifestyle Academy???

I'll be opening enrollment in the middle of May, and like I said at the top, I'll be stacking up bonuses like never before...   straight crazy...

Anyway, been listening to this jam the whole time writing this, so thought you'd enjoy it as well:

Cheers!

Great video. It's funny how Owen talks about bringing up all aspects of your life and I can definitely relate to it. I have been doing that in a sense but when got deep into pickup I almost started to trick myself into thinking that stuff really didn't matter and started slacking in those other areas. The of course came the negative effects of doing that.

Health, wealth, relationships, huh? Tyler, in your last video it seems you had all of that at a certain point and you also said that you felt miserable. So obviously it's not just that, and there are some esoteric principles that tie the package together.

It seems there is a bit of a contradiction. The goal here seems to be a man in your prime: have your health, wealth, relationships in order. This is a great ideal but realistically people who accomplish all of this enjoy it for a short period and then they feel miserable.

Promoting some "end goal" of certain pieces in your life falling together perfectly has been what society actively does. But once reached, you wonder "what's next?" I don't mean to say this as a diss but it seems that only each man individully can define their own prime. It doesn't come from you or society. Yet this seems to be another version of "advanced" social conditioning where if you have x, y, and z, you'll be all set and live happily ever after.

See, you've defined for yourself what it means to be in your prime. It is difficult to export it to others. Many influential people have tried to export their way of life onto others. It has always happened through history and will always happen. This is one example we have here, so it's nothing unique.

In no way am I saying that health, wealth, and relationships are not important. But I am saying that even all of that together is a tiny piece. At age 25 I'm juggling them and at times moving my area of focus from one to the other. But make no mistake - I know that when I've had all of it together, I also felt pretty shitty.

So really I think being in your prime is something that each man must define for himself. If he waits for others to define it, then likely he's not in his prime to know. It just seems that the idea of being in your prime is not really very well defined. It's an idea held together with duct tape and glue. But it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Just my 2 cents on a complicated topic.

Hahaha Tyler nailed it with his explanation of the "beautiful man". Roommate and I are always shaking our heads at these guys. Hmm I wonder if any girls would be willing to kill themselves over me... don't think I'm quite at that level yet. Something to strive for!

So psyched for the future!!

The way I explain things is with these two defintions:

Happiness:  Living in Alignment with Your Values
Fulfillment:  Growing in every area of your life (growing in each value)

So to feel happy and fulfilled, it's not about reaching an end goal, but to rather GROW in each one of those areas.  Success is not the goal, it's a byproduct of the action that you take.

When you talk about defining what each man is for his own "prime," that's what it means, every person has different value systems, but the key is to live a life of integrity in alignment with your values, and focus on continual growth.

This is also why Owen mentioned in his last vid that he felt like shit.

He stopped growing.

Just Zen, mon.

I'm all about the Z-zen, mon.

Then I kill all y'all with my gold-plated AK-47 mon.

OK so what is the shadow side of a Tyler-type success?

Is there one?

o.O

(An answer can probably be found in one or a couple of videos lol...)

Overall very inspiring video and deeply resonant. I figure it would be harmless to play Devil's Advocate for once. ;)

From the various studies I've seen the prime for Men and Women is very different and probably 90% of Men especially never see their prime were for Women if they have the necessary genetics they just need to make it to sexual maturity and their job is done, It's something like 80% of all Women that have every existed have passed on their genes were it's only about 30% of Men that's ever existed have passed on theirs, theres never any mutation genetically on the female side only the male as we compete with eachother for resources etc..

A Man's prime is 43 (Wealth, Status, Wisdom, Health etc)
A Woman's prime is 21 (Youth, Beauty, Femininity etc)

This video really hit home with where I am at in life at the moment. One thing I would like a comment on from brad or tyler if you feel like taking the time. The 5 aspects tyler mention, Health, Wealth, Relationships, Higher Purpose and Self acceptance. 3 of them are things that you can invest a limited amount of time in and see great results. When you get over the initial time investment of learning how to eat healthy it does not take much longer than eating whatever, and you don't need that many hours a week in the gym to reach a great physical condition. In the same sense Higher Purpose and Self Acceptance are more internal concepts that you don't really "grind out". 30 minutes of meditation a day for example goes a very long way. And you don't really get twice as much out of it with 60 minutes of meditation a day.

Relationships and Wealth though are things you can always funnel more time into. If you are looking to increase your business skills or run your business or in whatever way improve your "wealth" you can pretty much always find new things to do, and the same with relationships. You can always go out and get better at game, meet new girls, improve your relationship with your friends and family etc. And I am just wondering what you feel is a good balance between the two. Obviously there is no one right answer here, just intersted in hearing some viewpoints.

The video and content were quite good.  However (and maybe I am the only one who feels this), I sometimes get a pretty judgmental or disdainful vibe off of Owen with regards to people he doesn't feel are measuring up to his standards or values or embody his definition of "success". This was evident to me not only in this video, but in some past videos as well.  Owen talks often of and obviously values SELF-acceptance, but perhaps he can be more accepting of OTHERS and their lifestyles or life choices. For example, calling some of his friends "losers" and saying that he's laughing at them does not convey the most empathetic, accepting, or compassionate mindset.  I understand he's teaching self-development, and maybe doing this is incompatible with being more accepting of others.

I want to say that I have tremendous respect for Owen and love and appreciate his content and all the value he gives out for free, but the above tendency of his is always something that has troubled me a little.

The only rsd guys who are getting laid and have the ability to pull consistently imo right now are Owen, Julien & Todd. I don't see how Brad has any ounce of game at this moment. It looks like be hasn't done a cold approach in many months, Jeffy says some of the lamest shit lately, Ozzie doesn't even know when universities where first built, & Alex is so socially uncalibrated right now it's not even funny. I'd say cut half of your team tyler but your market reach is so powerful and strong that the continually newbies who go on rsd can't pick up these microcalibrationa to save their life therefor you make money whether Brad looks like a full retard or not because of RSD's strong market presence. I can see what's happening only cause I'm one of the few who actually  go out just about every night.

Thank you, Owen and Brad. Lots to think about!

I was in a little pit of neediness and self pity, and this is a wake up call that there is so much more to life than the petty little things our minds can sometimes focus on, and how developing all areas of our life can really help stop these negative, self-sabotaging thought patterns.

Five areas:

Health
Wealth
Relationships
Higher Purpose
Self Acceptance

Though I may focus on one area more than the rest at any particular time (currently meeting women), I'll remember that over the course of my entire life, I want to develop myself in all of these areas. Also, if one area is somewhat frustrating, I can always go to another area to "fill my cup", so to speak.

If picking up girls becomes frustrating, I can put more attention on my fitness, money, or read an inpiring book without making it an excuse to stop taking action with women. Instead, I still will go out, but I'm not as attached to the results I'm getting because I know there are other aspects to life that are also important, which also helps with self acceptance. This all makes so much sense to me.

Okay, going to work out now. Thanks again!

Edit:

Okay, I thought about the direction you are eventually going to take for RSD, the way that Brad has already started. It really makes sense. Guys come into the program in their early twenties, and over the course of a decade, they go through the transformation that the instructors have gone through: putting away the childish thoughts of a boy, and taking on a new role as man, a leader, a hope for the future. The straight and narrow path of the 50's is gone for most people. Now, it's all about self reliance and opportunity.

Self reliance and teamwork skills are the keys to modern success. I believe that the really awesome women probably won't settle for anything less than a man who is developing in all areas of his life, even if she never tells you to your face. She wants to be with the ultimate man, a man in his prime.

Though it's likely too late for me as I'm older than Ozzie and still don't have these things handled, I can see now that I want to keep improving myself for the rest of my life, and always be excited about living and new ideas, right up to my last breath when hopefully, they'll be prying an awesome non-fiction book ouf of my hands before they cremate me and send my ashes into outer space.

Alot of women would laugh at that statement that their prime is 21, just because we men value beauty so much dosent mean that in their reality reaching peak appearence is the ultimate...in terms of sexuality girls that are in their late 20's are going to be far greater in touch with their sexuality in alot of cases..

I relate a lot. Being close to 30 and in a relationship Im super psyched about the lifestyle/being a man in your prime part. Rock it.

I love how Owen has started "warning" people before saying some fucked up weird shit and realizing that Brad (and plenty of others) dont relate to that vibe. I connected with that vibe from day one, but also witnessed how it put a lot of people off :)

It's really great that you show people one way to a happier and more fulfilled life - a solution to the so called "urban existential crisis". It makes me wonder though... Those animals drinking from the river (the girls). To me it sound like they are a quite miserable bunch of people, if their lives and happiness depends on one person. They must be the complete opposite to the value giving person you have become, and the things that you teach. Don't they make you feel exploited?
