Brad Branson

Brad

Hahaha!

So I was talking to this sales guy who was trying to pitch me on a life coaching program, and the guy says to me: "Well, you don't know, what you don't know."

And I'm like...  "Are you kidding me?  You're really using self dev quotes on me right now?"

And it got me thinking about myself, especially when I first got into self development, and tried to give EVERYONE advice.

Mix that in with this new recent Spritz reading app that everyone is raving about, and I went on a rampage.

This video is about why most self development junkies are straight up annoying, and how to catch yourself when you fall into these bad habits.

Take a look!

Yep, so just to list them for you again:

1. Forcing new ideas on others because your shaky with these new ideas
2. Hating/shaming others for problems that are actually reflected in yourself
3. Developing an ego over # of books read (knowledge/new ideas)
4. Becoming too goal oriented instead of process oriented.

Haha, I've done these plenty of times, so I'm not judging!!!!

But hopefully the solutions for each will help you out.

And I wanna ask you...

Do you do any of these?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

As always,
Enjoy!

Brad, is it this book?
Stone, H., Stone, S., Embracing Our Selves: The Voice Dialogue Manual

Nice blog, I recognize the empathy part on overweight people for example.

Do you know a good book about relationships that talks about egocentry and that a woman's complaint or 'unclear' message is actually a signal for you to grow on a certain area? I already read The Way of the Superior Man. I want to get deeper into empathy in a realtionship with a girl.

Thx

I thought about this not too long ago, cause some friends/familiy I have do these a lot when I hit the clubs with them. I don't mind that much except when they're judging/forcing it, which is usually the case then it's just annoying indeed.

I ended up driving a friend away by making him read some self-development books that he was clearly not that interested in reading. Won't be doing that again.

Woww very good video! All of these things were/are some hard sticking points of me. Im slowly building out of it, and I'm at a point that I can recognize them in myself. But I'm happy about it because many of these concepts are first hand experiences so I won't fall to quickly in them.

I might have been guilty to point 1 and 2 back in the days, since I always wanted to have someone to share my interests with. But I have realized that almost everyone I have ever met are stuck in the same old habits and routines they had 15 years ago, Some are drug addicts, some are unemployed for life, some are drinking beer as their one and only hobby, some are living as bachelors with no self-awareness or hope for any change in a foreseeable future, etc. The list goes on. Pitiful people if you ask me. I dislike them. Where are the strong and successful ones in my city (in Sweden)? I'm still searching for them. They are probably hiding somewhere in a secret society.

This is my only mistake. I don't do it very often anymore, though.

I do all of those... but the title of this video shouldn't be "why self devellopment junkies are annoying", but: "Why annoying people with these 4 characteristics are into self devellopment". It's cool that Brad points those out, because otherwise I would've never known that I'm annoying. Thanks for that.

Hi Brad! The book sounds really interesting. I couldn't find it, though. What is the name of the book you're referring to?
Thanks.
